A bit of a cliche I know, but my favourite part of Christmas is watching people open their presents and seeing them happy.

Every year I have a "favourite" gift that I've bought that I'm excited about.

There's a few this year but randomly I'm probably most excited about my niece's heatless curlers 😅

What about you?

For DH from DC: a "Worlds Best Dad" mug.
For DH from me: a special edition vinyl album from his favourite band.
For DD: an instant camera

I sent DH links to GiftSetA and GiftSetB and I'm excited to see which one I get! (I'm easily pleased)

My 3 year old DD has asked for a Peppa Pig house all year so I cant wait to see her open it ❤️

Yellowaveo59 · 01/12/2023 22:23

Do you have a link to the story pack?

Wanttobeok · 01/12/2023 22:49

@Yellowaveo59 my phone is an arsehole so wasn't working earlier but is now. This is the link. Also for pp who asked earlier (it was cheaper when I ordered it, 25% off so may be worth waiting a few days)

@Wanttobeok thanks for the link my daughter is always writing her own stories. It looks great. I'm finished my Christmas shopping but it's an idea for Christmas 2024!

A mocktail set for my 9 year old. I bought a lovely book, shaker set and loads of ingredients so he can get cracking!

A Barbie House (2022 version) for my daughter who is 5, she has no idea she will get it as she thought it would be too big for Father Christmas's sleigh.

Came on to say this, my 6 year old has asked about it but we said it was pretty big for Santa to bring so not sure if she is expecting it... can't wait to see her face and I know she will get so many hours playing with it <3

Wanttobeok · 02/12/2023 00:11

@ilovetea14 I'll try and remember to report back on how it turns out

@Wanttobeok that would be great thanks.

clpsmum · 02/12/2023 08:31

I got tickets to an event my children will be delighted to go to. I can't wait to see their faces

nicky2512 · 02/12/2023 08:38

Love these - has cheered me up this morning!
Mine is a Taylor Swift cardigan and few other bits of merch for 21 year old dd. It was ordered in July and after a lot of stress when package arrived with cardigan missing, I finally have the replacement. She is such a massive fan and I know she will love it.

DD really didn't have much on her list this year and definitely has enough 'stuff', so I needed to come up with an idea of a main gift. After lots of online searching I've now booked her a Bear Grylls experience day with indoor skydiving, archery & high ropes. She's quite adventurous so I'm hoping she'll be excited for it.

I got this exact gift for my kids 2 years ago and it was Brill. So good that we went back again and my son did the scuba diving experience.

daffodilandtulip · 02/12/2023 08:53

Geeky present of the year ... DD is doing maths A Level and has been asking for a whiteboard all year for her equations. I've totally dismissed it as daft to her, but bought a huge one so she'll be so pleased 🤣

whereaw · 02/12/2023 08:54

Super space fort building kit (one each) hope it was worth the money!!

dontforgetme · 02/12/2023 08:57

A worm farm thing for my son. He's going to be over the moon, I really can't wait to see his little face!

PermanentTemporary · 02/12/2023 09:03

I've organised Spanish conversation lessons for dp and me. We're going to his favourite place in the world which is in Spain in February, he can't wait to show it to me and I think he'll love the lessons.

Shewhobecamethesun · 02/12/2023 09:04

Ps5.

I can't wait to see ds's reaction to it. He hasn't even asked for it or put it on his Christmas list as he knows it's way beyond budget. It only came up in conversation because what he really wants is the new Spider-Man game and was disappointed you can't get it for the ps4. We've had a shit year (split with stbxh who has completely rejected his stepson which is quite harsh after 13years but hey ho) and ds has been an absolute star and really stepped up. I'm so proud of him so this is very well deserved. I'm going to hide it right at the back so it's the last present found. So excited!!

WhamBamThankU · 02/12/2023 09:08

A ps5 for my youngest and a PC for my eldest. The PC is a complete surprise but he's in year 11 and will need one for college next year too. Can't wait to see his reaction!

fourmonthstogo · 02/12/2023 09:10

Taylor Swift tickets for DD. I'm so excited to give them to her, she has no idea. We missed out on the first set of dates so she thinks we didn't get any - but I got a couple when the extra dates were released

FeltCarrot · 02/12/2023 09:12

A few years ago, I blagged a Mario advertising stand (it’s about 3 ft tall) from the local supermarket. They were about to throw it out. DS’s face when he saw it was a picture and it’s still in his room several years later!

DepartmentOfJoyHopeandWonder · 02/12/2023 09:14

DD is obsessed with that bloody Skibbidi toilet thing on YouTube and I stumbled across a plushie of it on Amazon the other day so she'll love that. It's also been a rough year for me but DH has been a huge support so I've broken the budget and bought him an Apple Pencil to encourage him to draw more.

Allthingsdecember · 02/12/2023 09:15

My DC are toddlers and I’m most excited for them to see the light up wands in their stockings… they cost £1 each but I’m certain they will be their favourite presents!

Digestivechocolate · 02/12/2023 09:21

My eight year old Grandson has ASD and he's asked for a spitfire duvet cover. We have told him they are out of stock .. but l bought it weeks ago.. he keeps asking if they are back in stock.
Bless him he actually asked for a new gaming bed to match his gaming desk . That came last month and already been put up for him.
Says best bed he's ever had lol

Those sound great!

I've just thought of another one actually. My other niece loves writing stories (she's only 8) and I found this pack that comes with sheets for her to write a story and illustrate it, and then you send it back to the company and they send you a proper hard backed book of your own story. Think she will love it

Ohhhh please share a link?

IndiganDop · 02/12/2023 09:23

This is a bit outing but never mind.

When DS was about 2, his granny brought a hideous snow globe back from America. It lit up, had a key to turn to play music, and showed Santa's sleigh packed with gifts. DS loved this snow globe and every year he would get it out and admire it, and when the globe was out, Christmas started for him.

When he was 8, he dropped it and smashed the glass. I have never heard him so distressed. He broke his heart for days. We looked for alternates and now have about 6 snow globes of varying sizes, but none have ever really taken the place of "the" one.

Reader, even though it's 20 years old and sold exclusively in US target stores, I found it advertised on Facebook marketplace back in September. Someone in Derbyshire had one. So this year, at the age of 19, DS is going to open "his" snow globe for Christmas. He has no idea, and neither does my DH. I can't wait!

What present are you most excited about giving this Christmas?
