Anyone fancy a Sparks 12 Days of Christmas thread?

I'm waiting up till midnight to see what my first offering is. There are the usual suspects on the advertising image (percy pigs, looks like a hand cream, wine etc) There are some canny prizes up for grabs by the looks of things, but there are sure to be some duds as well!

Here we go. I'll show you mine, you show me yours!!

Cake here. I've been in ,just now and bought wrapping paper, biscuits and a cake and got my free pastry. Ive saved £5.15 according to my receipt so feeling very pleased although the wrapping paper was more than I would normally spend so.mayb.not so good on that front. Keeping everything crossed for the coins!!!

MrsCarson · 06/12/2023 13:06

I went this morning and picked up the Free from Christmas pudding and wanted to get the Free from truffle biscuits but they were out, said they might be getting more and to check back.

WimbyAce · 06/12/2023 13:51

Free percy pigs for me.

So you've had too freebies? There is hope then that I might get something a bit more festive than the easy peelers I got.

Hi,

I got an orange bergamot hand and nail cream today, instead of the almond lip balm that was my winning item. (I couldn’t bring that into the house due to family allergies.)

The lady at the till said she would see if the substitute worked and it did - yippee!

I spent more than £25 in Lidl today, (due to having only just discovered the delights of their ‘middle of Lidl’ stuff, with 50% off), and got free chocolate coins via today’s advent door. I also redeemed the buy one get one free on the chocolate santas.

I mentioned the cake discount to DH when we were in there today so he picked one up and put it in the basket, I doubt it will last until Christmas

catwithflowers · 06/12/2023 21:44

I collected our free Christmas cake slices today. They are delicious!

Drhow · 06/12/2023 21:50

People got more than one freebie?! I got the bottle of fragrance on day 1 and ever since it’s just been discounts off things I’d never buy like slippers and biscuits. Sigh.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 07/12/2023 00:07

Christmas jumpers, anyone?

Yes, and still no free gift!

AllisColm · 07/12/2023 00:18

Flipping Christmas jumpers!

Tessisme · 07/12/2023 00:26

Christmas jumpers here too. I wouldn't want one even if it was free😆😆

Two of the offers I had were a free hanging decoration, and 1/3 off decorations.

So I took the kids into M&S and we chose 3 hanging decorations. I expected that we would have got the most expensive one free, and 1/3 off the other two. Prices of the ones chosen were £10, and two at £5. (Massively overpriced!). So I expected to pay £6.66 in total.

We actually got the cheapest one free and no other discount. So I had to pay £15. Thanks M&S 🙄

There's no way I would have intentionally paid £15 for three baubles, but I didn’t want to disappoint the kids after we made the trip and chose them.

I think you needed to do it as two purchases.

Purchase one is £10 decoration for free.
Purchase two is £5 and £5 with the 1/3 off for £6.66.

If you're nearby then worth a try returning to get your £15 back and seeing if you can rebuy as two purchases. Even if you don't get the 1/3rd off second time round you'll still only pay £10 rather than £15.

nomoretoriesforme · 07/12/2023 00:48

Christmas jumpers!

bizzey · 07/12/2023 00:54

I don't think I have ever worn a Christmas jumper ...no not going to start now even if I do have 20% off 😂😂!

fungibletoken · 07/12/2023 01:08

Still no free gift here either! 5 days to go...

ExpensiveDecorations · 07/12/2023 06:15

Christmas jumpers here too. I have already got one and that's enough.

HollyGolightly4 · 07/12/2023 06:24

Christmas jumpers and no freeby! Maybe they're saving it for a bottle of gin on day12!

Talisin · 07/12/2023 06:44

Yep, Christmas jumpers here too. Suppose it makes sense as it’s Christmas Jumper Day.

Drhow · 07/12/2023 06:47

Got a free bear from John Lewis so happy with that! M&S another discount on something I won’t buy…

EveWinter · 07/12/2023 06:50

It’s a bit rubbish imo. Slippers - great I need some but I don’t want faux fur, I want real wool or sheepskin. 20% off doesn’t seem to apply to any sheepskin slippers.

Christmas jumper - was ready to buy a fairisle type thing for DD but most seem to be out of stock.

A bear here too but it's not showing as free it says it has to be sent to a collection point? Can't I just pick him up from store??

Greekgreens · 07/12/2023 07:06

Free bear from JL too but only with an online order.

Xmasfairy86 · 07/12/2023 07:07

Jumpers - that seem more expensive than normal 🤔🤔 off to tesco or even primark for that purchase I think!! 😆
