Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday | Mumsnet

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us! I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we...

Are there any discount vouchers around, the kind you would buy as a gift. There are 20% off a selection in Tesco but I'm looking for B&Q gift vouchers.

There’s cashback on TopCashback, but you only get an emailed card

Thelifeofawife · 02/12/2023 22:12

@MammaGnomes I get so much from B&M, my dog is my child (as well as my other children 😁)

Has anyone seen any dog toy bargains?! It's our puppy's first Christmas and I've decided I'm going to be that doggo mum

B&M do Scoobie doo balls, I work with dogs and have not met one that doesnt love them yet. I buy them in bulk!

I'd welcome any gift ideas around the £10 mark for a 4 year old girl please 🎁

I bought the "Pick a Pine" book recommended on here but would like something to go with it. Not long had a bday and I bought Lego.

I would recommend Maileg mice. Some are on sale on bluebells burrow or bright new things or smallkins. Code Smallkins get 10% off on smallkins. My youngest is 4 and she is obsessed as are quite a few of her friends. They are between £14 and £20 so not the cheapest, but I think they are definitely worth it. Other favourites have been the wooden grapat ‘lucky’ boxes, on sale for £7 at the kid collective- PLAY code gets you 10% off. Also lol surprise dolls sale on Amazon for £6. Hope that helps

A while back, did someone recommend cheap tile/air-tag things? Possibly from one of the supermarkets?

Could have been me - in Poundland - in the electronics section with the phone cables etc. they were £4 when I last looked and we used them last year to track luggage to New Zealand and they were great.

Any suggestions for a present for a coeliac colleague? I usually do christmassy food items for other colleagues.

Chocolateteabag · 03/12/2023 04:31

My Coeliac neighbour likes wine and Dark chocolate if that helps?

She is vv careful (obviously) over food given the issues that even a speck of flour can cause, but if is packaged food from a reputable source and cleared marked as being gluten free then she would be okay (like Waitrose/M&S etc)

Something that is "gluten free" - but made in a kitchen that isn't gluten free doesn't cut it.

Something that is naturally gluten free rather than something “gluten free”. Wine or good dark chocolate (Lindt) both options.

20% off own brand hats and gloves at John Lewis with code MYWINTER20 (today only)

Lastminutebride · 03/12/2023 08:13

Any discounts around for actual air tags? Looking to buy at least 2, or if there’s a good offer then 4. Thanks.

ArthurChristmas22 · 03/12/2023 08:41

@Wallaroo21 thank you! I am now wondering what was wrong with last year's, maybe it was the size! I will measure up. Seems such a shame when we have the fire but £60 on hangers doesn't feel right after all these bargains!

OnionBag · 03/12/2023 08:43

@Lastminutebride Amazon do a multipack of 4.

OnionBag · 03/12/2023 08:44

@nickdrakeslovechild could you link to any good scooby doo balls? There seems to be lots of versions of them. Thanks.

fishfingersandchipsagain · 03/12/2023 08:48

Thank you @dramalamma

@Lastminutebride the cheapest place I have seen actual AirTags is £95 for 4 on Amazon, although a while ago they were also part of a 20% off offer at John Lewis

@ArthurChristmas22 we have these ones which work great so long as there is an actual lip on your mantle piece.

They have to curve around so the weight of the stocking (even when empty) is sitting beneath the anchor point. They are really good though. They stood up to some very heavy stockings.

What a nice colleague you are! It's safer to get something that's marked as gluten free than accidentally gluten free because most coeliacs would avoid even a "may contain gluten" label. I think I'd get them something they might not usually buy themselves like a gluten free panettone or those yummy scar lebkuchen (both sainsburys) or asda has a fab gluten free Christmas range. Or alternatively you could buy them a gluten free cookbook if they're into cooking (I recommend the becky excell new xmas book).
Precious poster is right that unless your kitchen is gluten free you can't make something that is suitable no matter how careful you are.
Of course most alcohol is gluten free too! 😁

Schar (sold in Tesco) and Waitrose do a gluten free pannetone which is often a requested item from my coeliac family member

Sallylovesdaisy · 03/12/2023 09:17

Thanks to the person who shared the Fossil codes, just bagged myself a lovely purse, I'm such a 🐑 lol.
I've looked everywhere for some doggy treats strings of sausages, never had trouble getting them before. Just love them as I get them to just hang out of the dogs stocking, and it gets their interest really quickly lol 🐶🦮. So if anyone spots any can you please let me know. Thanks

Houseofsardines · 03/12/2023 09:26

So sorry I can’t find the laithwaites site hamper stacking codes, I don’t think it’s this thread? I’m going through the thread before this one and still can’t find it- I have been asked to help my brother sort out 6 hampers for extended family (he is super stressed!)

fishfingersandchipsagain · 03/12/2023 09:30

@Houseofsardines there aren’t Laithwaites stacking codes that I’m aware of. One poster had put her “mention me” referral link onto the referrals thread where 3 or 4 people used it. She then used those referrals discounts to get several hampers.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 03/12/2023 09:32

@Houseofsardines it wasn't codes. It was discounts from using someones referral link. Think £40 off spend but not something I looked at. If I remember right they don't stack and the poster had to ring Laithwaites to put individual orders through.

The referrals board is HERE
