Thanks @GoatsareGOAT for the title. Luckily, she was referring to the board game peeps!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

Does anyone have any ideas for a nice addition to my lovely neighbour's Christmas gift - she buys for my DC and generally just lovely! She is 75, retired-vicar very independent!

Last year I got a little hamper of food goodies, this year so far I have a lovely pair of warm socks, a lovely small shortbread tin and stuck for any other ideas!

weebarra · 18/11/2023 17:50

I think the Aveda serum might have gone back up to £28, still cheaper but not as bargainous!

Singlelady23 · 18/11/2023 17:51

I’m looking for some stockings with initials. Any bargains out there?

jamrolypolyandcustard · 18/11/2023 17:56

My god these threads move quick!! I was on the ball till thread 7 and then it all went to pot 😂

Has anyone ordered off the tea shed for their bubble tea sets? Wanting a small wrap up for DN10 to go with her voucher (apparently toys are so last year and River Island is the in thing) 😂

Help. Looking for dressing gown for elderly lady. Not velour or fuzzy or fluffy. Ideally one that has big buttons down the middle. Nothing bulky.
Am stumped.

I am looking for nintendo switch games, has anyone seen any deals on the below please?

Blaze axle City racers
Taxi chaos
Lego city undercover

Local cex didn't have any of them. Looking on ebay and I've never bought video games so worried in case they end up being fakes or faulty!

I have got all of mine this year on Vinted. The lego one is deffo on there. I'd personally only buy cartridges and not ones that are just online codes

I'd not thought of vinted, thank you!!

Yes that's what I'm thinkingis safest, go for cartridges rather than code in box.

Off I go to browse vinted! I've never actually bought anything from there 🙈I did try earlier on this year but my bank wouldn't allow the transactions to go through for some reason. I'll try again though!

redjoker · 18/11/2023 18:35

Thanks for the Gruum link I've ordered fhat

How about bon marche for dressing gowns?

Hedjwitch · 18/11/2023 18:44

Ooh thanks. Thats the kind of thing. Not very lovely but when you are nearly 89,I guess its functionality first.

There are millions on there. Just make sure the picture includes one of the cartridge and the seller has reviews.

Just have no idea how the codes work so I didn't want to risk it with those

I need to delete the app I've spent a fortune on there!

To be honest I sell lots too so. Happy browsing

@Hedjwitch I agree, not the prettiest, but my neighbour loved hers. If you wanted something more expensive, I know David Nieper is a popular brand, made in England and aimed at the older lady. But quite pricey in my opinion.

Can you play with a hex bug without the track type bit? DS seems to be on the verge of not bothering with toys but I wanted to get him something a bit more fun for his stocking and I was wondering if the Christmassy hex bug might be an option for our wood floor hallway?

PurpleSkittle · 18/11/2023 19:03

@Someaddedsugar yes, Hexbugs will happily noodle around on a hard floor. They don't need the tracks...

Someaddedsugar · 18/11/2023 19:04

Thanks @PurpleSkittle - I think I'll get a few bugs and if they're a hit at least I'll have something for future presents!

PurpleSkittle · 18/11/2023 19:08

@stillholly what age boy do you want the hooded blanket for? Primark had some thinner Snuddies reduced to £5 (mainly smaller sizes left) and thicker ones of all sizes reduced to £10...

Houseofsardines · 18/11/2023 19:13

@Someaddedsugar We don’t have most of the actual plastic habitats/runs any more as they take up such a lot of space, but the kids love the bugs. You can get the kids to make their own tunnels with cardboard loo roll tubes. There’s loads of maze layouts you can download and print out for them to copy, if they roll up plasticine or play dough they can make the barriers for the maze.

PurpleSkittle · 18/11/2023 19:14

@Someaddedsugar you could also try The Entertainer for the 3 pack of real bug Hexbugs reduced to £3 that @redjoker (I think) posted about. They look like bugs/cockroaches and are marketed as a bit of a joke item (freak out friends and family). But they're not as nice looking as normal Hexbugs - that Christmas one is particularly cute. I was tempted to get one for myself!

Someaddedsugar · 18/11/2023 19:16

I'm really taken by the Christmas one @PurpleSkittle 😂. Secretly probably just buying for myself 😳. It's a shame it isn't still at the bargain price posted earlier though. I'll have a look at the entertainer too.

I also like the idea of building a 'run' ourselves with whatever we have in the house. DS would probably enjoy that more too as he likes doing similar for his hot wheels which are currently the only toy he'll really play with.

PurpleSkittle · 18/11/2023 19:18

@Someaddedsugar if he has baths, Robofish are also good...

Someaddedsugar · 18/11/2023 19:18

I'll have a look at those too! Thank you for the suggestion - hugely appreciated 😊

What about a candle, a pair of fingerless gloves ( another poster recommended the turtle doves seconds gloves from their eBay outlet- they are really lovely, I bought a pair for my MIL), mulled wine, a Sherpa blanket? If she’s a retired vicar she might like the book about John Donne which Katherine Rundell wrote. It’s called super- infinite- really good.

Just caught up!

Does anyone know...Was the £10 off Space NK just a personal thing or is it a code, please??

Thanks!
