When is your Christmas tree going up?

Normally put mine up around the 4th of December. This year I have a 5 month old and I'm just so excited for her to see the lights that I'm considering putting it up next week!

When will your tree be going up?

Today! I had to clear out the cupboard it is stored in so the gas meter could be read plus dd has finished college early because her teacher is off sick so it all seems fortuitous. I just assemble the basic tree, put the lights on evenly and my kids do the rest. Never usually put it up this early though.

@BethDuttonsTwin

Great now I'm tempted to do it today! Grin too exciting!

Had it up for a few weeks now. 🎄I hope you and your little baby enjoy them when you put yours up. Xmas Smile

Probably the 3rd of December.

We usually go and choose our tree the first weekend in December. We've got something in the diary already for the Saturday so we'll probably go for the Sunday instead.

We'll be getting a real tree, so don't like to go too early!

shivawn · 14/11/2023 13:42

Normally in December but I'm on maternity leave and feeling bored (baby hasn't arrived yet) so I might just do it someday soon.

Peridot1 · 14/11/2023 13:43

Never until December. Second weekend usually. I hate taking it down as I love the lights so it’s up until the 6th January. But conversely I’d hate it up too early.

Somewhatchallenging · 14/11/2023 13:48

Week before Christmas.

FourChimneys · 14/11/2023 13:51

23 December if we take it to Cornwall with us (depends on space in the car). So possibly not at all.

Putting it up early seems weird to me, it is still the autumn, but what other people do is none of my business.

DinoRaar · 14/11/2023 13:53

Usually goes up first weekend in December but we're away that weekend this year so will put it up when we're home on Monday 4th.

MintGreenPolo · 14/11/2023 13:54

Only in December

DinoRaar · 14/11/2023 13:55

It comes down on Hogmany though, don't keep it up into the New Year.

mondaytosunday · 14/11/2023 14:00

First weekend in December. I always get a real tree and no problem with it lasting.

caringcarer · 14/11/2023 14:02

Normally December 18th. That was my parents wedding anniversary so it's when they always put their tree up. This year it will be going up early because I'm doing an early Xmas for my 3 adult DC and DGC. The first time I will have cooked them all a meal together in about 8 or 9 years.

tinytemper66 · 14/11/2023 14:03

Around the 5-7 December then down NYE due to us going away.

BooksAndHooks · 14/11/2023 14:05

Last weekend in November.

SpicyPasta · 14/11/2023 14:08

Mine is up! It’s making the rainy dark days more bearable.

dixeypeach · 14/11/2023 14:09

First weekend of December

BabyMoonPie · 14/11/2023 14:11

First weekend in December. Will be Saturday 2nd this year. DD2 turns 2 in December and I can't wait to see her reaction to the tree and all the decorations this year - I think she's going to love everything... just like her big sister. I'm expecting her to be obsessed with the dancing cactus that plays Feliz Navidad (that I bought for DD1 and not me - honest!)

ShufflingHedgehogs · 14/11/2023 14:11

Can't be too sure until I do it, but I'll probably put it up on 16th Dec and take down 2nd Jan.

I love the lights but I like the real tree to look fresh for Christmas Day.

I'll put other decorations up before then, though - normally start at the beginning of December and slowly add to them until the tree goes up as the main event.

IceIceBabyBump · 14/11/2023 14:18

This year it's being delivered on 18th and will go up on 20th.

I absolutely hate having the tree up while we're still at work. It makes me feel really demotivated because I can't just do jigsaws and drink sherry at 10am.

I like to do a massive Christmas explosion on the day we break up - auto-reply on the email, shed office locked up for a fortnight, big Christmas shop delivered, tree up, decorations everywhere, window decals pasted, garden reindeer installed, Christmas jumpers on, Christmas plug-ins plugged-in, Christmas candles lit...

Justcallmebebes · 14/11/2023 14:22

At Christmas. I hate this new thing of decorating and putting trees up in November/early December. By the time Christmas actually gets here, I'm sick of it

Bananaman123 · 14/11/2023 14:24

Normally 1 December but maybe next week, feel like I need a bit extra happiness this year

pumpkintart · 14/11/2023 14:31

We always have a real tree and this year it will likely be put up on the 10th December likely to be down by new year

Pootles34 · 14/11/2023 14:34

Mid December usually. I don't fancy putting it up early - I feel like we need them more in January then November. Maybe I can start a trend...

AlwaysGinPlease · 14/11/2023 14:38

For us it's 2nd or 3rd December. It's the first Christmas in our new house so trying to work out where to put it! In our old house it went in the same perfect place every year. Excited!🎄
