I love the fact that the nn of the person who said this to me is @chocolateisavegetable - very apt!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

I need a gift for a 21 year old guy who I don't know well. Is into ufc likes betting and is doing a masters in law. Doesn't really drink. Any suggestions

I don’t know your budget or whether they’ll do another sale, but how about a Spicery legend kit

Or one of the many oodie type blankets?

Fancy travel cup/water bottle?

a game if they’re a student? A fun one is Bohnanza but I don’t know if the box would put them off

@VeruccaSalty I suffer Raynauds as does my mother. I discovered Ojbro vantfabrik gloves (I bought the mittens) and if I put them on at the start of a dog walk, find I don't have any issues with my hands. Just thought it might be a gift idea for another day 😂

LizMay29 · 17/11/2023 06:26

@ShangPie Check out dock & bay ponchos?

SleepPerChanceToDream · 17/11/2023 06:29

Amazon have started their Black Friday discounts today. Lots of things in my basket have reduced overnight.

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Game is down to £7.49, some discounts on Hotel Chocolat (including the wreath again) but don't think they are as low as last year currently.

Thanks for this, the pink actually have 30% off with a clicky voucher so £17ish

Sorry to be dense but how do you get the clicky voucher?

Raindancer411 · 17/11/2023 02:37

What's this toy box code on the entertainer please?

It’s the new rewards scheme, replacing the birthday club. So they just send out various offers throughout the year. They send an initial 10% code the other day, but they are individual codes, not generic.

@Stripedfluffysocks have you considered Charlotte Tilbury?
Eye Palette

I was also going to recommend CT but was going to say you’ll only get the small four shadow palette for £40ish but that’s a great deal!

CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay · 17/11/2023 06:53

Thanks for the Amazon Black Friday reminder - checked my wish list and some sandals I've had in there for over 12 months were half price and the nerf gun on DSs list was £12.99 instead of £39.99
That's another thing off the list and a treat for me!

Also used the Very apple offer to get DDs Apple Pencil she wanted. Hopefully Quidco will track with that as well.

There are some good Black Friday deals on Kipling bags at the moment - this one is the best bag they've done as a normal utility handbag and currently under half price amzn.eu/d/0RbvvxG

crikeyisthatthetimez · 17/11/2023 06:55

Some good deals on Amazon for hotel chocolat alas not the bargain that was on last year for the wreath but up to 25% off chocolates & 41% off alcohol

PopcornAndGummyBears · 17/11/2023 07:12

Ooh, thanks for the heads up on Hotel Chocolat on Amazon - DH can stock up on Velvetiser pouches while they’re on sale.

He usually tries to get the reduced ones from in store at 50% off and they are well worth it if you live close to a store. They are rarely actually close to the date on the box. DH bought 3 boxes last week all dated end of November - 1 of the boxes had 2 pouches (out of 10) in it which were dated end of Nov, and the rest were dated Mar/Apr/May next year. The other 2 boxes didn't have a single pouch dated Nov - all ranging from Apr-Jul next year. This is very normal for the boxes of pouches so well worth picking up if you’re in an actual shop, or if they do close to date reductions online.

Very underwhelmed by Amazon - several things in my basket have gone up in price

ticket to ride London went from 12.99 when we talked about it to 20.99 and now on a Black Friday deal at 16.99

herd mentality is similar Black Friday price 17.49

HBZ287 · 17/11/2023 07:43

Could anyone please remind me the perfume / fragrance deal which someone linked to on one of these threads please? It was buying the smaller ones then getting a £25 voucher to buy the one they liked? Thank you if anyone can help!

Same. Luckily I bit the bullet and bought DD’s main present last night (intel printer) because the ones on offer this morning are more than what I paid last night. There’s not really much I am after other than a book which hasn’t budged in price and isn’t likely too.

I do like the look of the hand warmers for myself. Why is it much easier finding things for myself? 🤣

I’m getting down to the awkward people that I struggle buying gifts for. My parents who moan and most things I buy them and my grandmother who is 97 and doesn’t really do much or go anywhere anymore (and doesn’t eat much).

Going real life shopping tomorrow and again next Tuesday so I’m hoping I can finish this week.

Yeknom · 17/11/2023 07:51

@CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay may I ask how
Much you paid for the Apple Pencil? Thanks :) it's a present im deliberating on for DH

poignant · 17/11/2023 07:51

My Claire's £5 voucher arrived finally. It took a week.

Does anybody know how long you have time to pick up things from Claire's? I am planning to there next Friday and wondering when I should order for pick up.

JarOfRocks · 17/11/2023 07:52

The Sock Game is down to £14.99 on Amazon. Think that's the cheapest I've seen it so far.

redjoker · 17/11/2023 07:53

If Anyone has any Argos codes Id be forever thankful x

whoknows1230 · 17/11/2023 07:55

Last year, or maybe the year before, quite a few people bought fake Apple pencils to use on an iPad from Amazon.
DD has put one on her list this year - was there one that has proved to be particularly good? She’s not fussed about the real deal (thankfully!)

Cubic · 17/11/2023 07:56

Has anyone any ideas for my ds school please? He goes to a special school where each child has a 1:1 for them but there are 5 children in his class and as they do things together the other 1:1's obviously help and and talk to all the children, there's his teacher, school ot, school therapist, the TA's from school that pick him up and drop him off and their driver (all employed by school) as well. I asked if they use the staff room with the intention of making a hamper of tea, coffee etc but they eat with the children at lunch and don't really use it.

I'm thinking it'll cost a small fortune to individual gifts but not sure what they could share. Any ideas would be really welcome please.

It was £79 on very but there's an offer for 10% credit back if you do it on BNPL.

I have been watching the PS5 (disc version not digital) and it is £100 off today at £379 as compared to £479 yesterday - seems like a good discount!

Thanks for the Amazon reminder, the Shark handheld vacuum I was after has gone down by £30 and the printer I wanted for work was also reduced. Doesn't help with Christmas presents but I'm happy!!

Sorry to be dense but how do you get the clicky voucher?

So if you click on the pink hand warmers photo nstead of the black ones, the voucher box below changes not to £5 off but to a 30% discount.
