I love the fact that the nn of the person who said this to me is @chocolateisavegetable - very apt!

Definitely Natasha denona or perhaps dior if there’s one around your budget, best eyeshadows I’ve ever had (apart from becca whom I miss horribly). Dior backstage might be around that.

I don’t like Charlotte tilbury, cheap shiny packaging and cult like sales people.

Alternatively have a look on space nk, they usually have decent quality products in the ranges they stock

I'd also go Dior. This one at £55 is stunning.

I also agree that CT is tripe and her adverts drive me bonkers.

Sorry to quote my own post, but I just got excited that the Dior palette is currently £44 in JL

They're not the only brand of paint pen, but if you've only used regular markers then you will find Posca are: liquid-y, generally opaque, and work well on most solid materials. EG you could draw with a yellow pen on a dark grey stone, compared to a normal fat felt tip which wouldn't show up.
If you're just using regular paper then a benefit of them is you can layer the colours so they don't mix/show through, and they look nice and solid. Great for the KH-style doodles!

I don't think they're the absolute best, but they're also not the most expensive (!), are a reliable brand, and are recognisable ie you probably get cool points for gifting them Grin

Thank you & to other PP who answered. I'll perhaps buy one or two - the individuals are £2.50 in Asda- & some other brands/ types. He has a large, white wall in his bedroom he's currently creating on & the trusty black markers are running out!

Does anyone have suggestions for the following items:

A hooded kids bath towel (ideally bright colours / soft cotton rather than the velour beach-towel fabric

Bath crayons / small colour bombs to change the colour of bath water (NOT glittery or frothy bath bombs)

Thanks oh wise MN bargain hunters!

mummymilkfloat · 16/11/2023 21:18

@Custardandcream that looks perfect thank you! Always fab ideas here I wouldn’t normally come across

For gloves to help with Raynaulds, would mittens actually be better? I don’t have experience of Raynaulds but when my hands get very cold ski mitts or similar are way better then gloves.

Decathlon also sell ski mitts.

Nintendo Switch OLED offer specifically the limited edition Zelda design £268.30 with a code. I saw it on Hotukdeals and it’s a limited time offer through eBay so you’ll need to be quick if interested.

If the design doesn’t matter, and you’re purchasing for younger kids, the Currys offer with Mario kart game and the steering wheels for £289 would probably work out better.

Nintendo Switch - OLED Model The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition w.code - sold by ebuyer_uk_ltd | hotukdeals

Does anyone have any idea if ghd straighters ever have offers?

PopcornAndGummyBears · 16/11/2023 21:26

Thank you so much to all who have responded re: sportswear for DTs.

@RainbowZebraWarrior - that’s really helpful. School is incredibly strict on uniform, but I have heard that there are potentially some changes afoot inc fleeces allowed to be worn under blazers when travelling to and from school which would help for sure. I actually saw some fingerless gloves/wrist warmers yesterday which were close-ish to uniform colours so we’ll see if we could get away with them. I have Raynauds too (runs in my family) but mine is more intermittent - some years are really bad, others I barely have any symptoms, and I didn’t have it at their age when trying to navigate school. Hockey tomorrow in PE so we’ll see how they go.

Thanks all so much - you’re all lovely - back to the bargains!

Read their t&c and the toybox codes don't work on Lego. Also the old birthday codes will work until 4th December.

I wish it would take the discount off non Lego items in a basket containing a Lego set. The free delivery threshold is high so I’d have to pay delivery if I ordered the Lego set I need separately.

Omg the full face pallete has 20% off too..,

VeruccaSalty · 16/11/2023 21:45

I know this wasnt the question asked but I suffer from Raynauds quite badly and have tried all sorts of gloves to no real effect. Once fingertips go white only heat helps. my husband bought me rechargeable handwarmers for Christmas last year and i really love them.

villamariavintrapp · 16/11/2023 21:48

@Noneedtobemean there are some Estella Bartlett bracelets on Tkmaxx

Another one here whose Boots wax melt burners were smashed to smithereens. Luckily I picked up from the store and had read other's warnings, so I opened the package there and returned for a refund straight away.
No point asking for a replacement as no doubt the same thing will happen, the packaging attempt was shockingly poor. It's frustrating though!

Weirdly then, I had a Boots order of make-up bits (foundation, primer, concealer, powder & an eyeliner pencil) and my box was stuffed to the brim with packing! You can’t fathom their thinking can you!

I went real life shopping today and saw a nice set in MenKind.
Loads of food related stuff in there actually, along with all the other brilliant but useless gifts.

I’d rather go to a real shop as I think P&P will make them too expensive. I’ve never heard of that shop, so I doubt there’s one near me! Thanks though, the thought is appreciated.

LostMyRubySlippers · 16/11/2023 21:52

Thanks for the tip on the entertainer codes stacking. Just ordered the happyland advent calendar, currently 20 down from 35. Used the old birthday code & the new toy box one. Couldn’t get blc to stack but still came in at under £15 👍

Could you please share which hand warmers you got, I might treat myself!

Hi Christmas friends. DD has asked for a pandora bracelet. They’re doing some bundle deals but do we think it’s worth waiting for Black Friday? Do pandora usually do reductions for that?

My mum went in store the other way and they advised her to wait. I think one of the deals is a bracelet and 2 charms for £99

HollyGennero · 16/11/2023 22:11

LemonFrosting · 16/11/2023 19:45

What's the new toybox reward for The Entertainer? Searced as I've not heard of it but no info.
I've never received a birthday code even thkugh signed up and requested an Xmas catalogue a couple months ago but never received!

That’s really annoying that you didn’t receive anything from them. I got an email the other day to say they’re replacing the birthday club with Toybox Rewards but unfortunately there wasn’t really any further information. As @poignant said it did say on the email that the birthday codes will still work until the 4th December but I’d not noticed that bit.

Callmesleepy · 16/11/2023 22:13

@HollyGennero that's a really good call on the stacking entertainer deal. 20% off plus 10% off plus 2 large TY squishy toys for £20 and I was able to use the charity donation to get 2 £5 toys for families in need at a cost of £7.20 to me to get me over to free shipping. Good outcome all round!

Has anyone seen any special offers on pandemic the boardgame or ticket to ride 1912?

handmademitlove · 16/11/2023 22:14

@PopcornAndGummyBears slightly off topic but the school should make reasonable adjustments to the uniform policy to manage health conditions - you might need the consultant to tell them he needs it but they should allow additional clothing as required.
We also use hotrox rechargeable hand warmers!
