I love the fact that the nn of the person who said this to me is @chocolateisavegetable - very apt!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Anyone remember if Wayfair had a big discount last BF? Getting DD a cabin bed from there which was 449 reduced to 349 yesterday. Gone back up to 382 today so I'm hoping for 20% off or some such. I'm also poised for Top Cashback which I think is currently 6%

Can anyone recommend small card/board games for a 6 year old? We love UNO and have loved orchard games but feel hes too old for those now. He cant read yet so struggling to find anything that isnt reliant on that

thaegumathteth · 15/11/2023 15:19

@redjoker Dobble?

Those with broken Wax Melt holders from boots how are you dealing with this?

I can't see anything other than, print off the label, go to the post office....

Don't really want to send broken glass as it's a H&S risk!

I just emailed via contact us. Three or four emails later, requesting information I’d already given, and my refund has come through.

not card or board but our kids loved Jenga at that age. When they could read they loved Happy Families (and still do, many years later!).

Going to get Cards against Humanity and Scattergories this year (usually play Scattergories by making stuff up ourselves) but thought I’d treat us this year. Hoping there are some bargains to be had on Black Friday!

PopcornAndGummyBears · 15/11/2023 15:42

@redjoker 5 Alive is really good - similar in ways to Uno (think it’s made by the same people) but different enough to feel like it’s a new, original game.

Go Nuts for Donuts is also really good. It says age 8+ but we’ve played it with a couple of bright kids who are very used to playing games.

I reckon you could start to introduce Bananagrams at that age too if your DC is a confident enough reader/speller.

PopcornAndGummyBears · 15/11/2023 15:43

@redjoker sorry! I should have read your post properly before replying! Scrap Bananagrams if he’s not a confident reader! Sorry!

All great suggestions that I hadnt heard of thanks, think 5 Alive is a good one!

Thanks for all those suggestions everyone x

@Darkbutstarrynight thank you I didn't even think of email!

ruralwanderer · 15/11/2023 15:50

@Dogmatix34, completely agree on the Gruum gift set. Had I paid £16.50 it would definitely have been going back. For the cost of postage though, it's not bad and smells lovely. It will be gifted to a friend who I know will love it Smile

MadeForThis · 15/11/2023 15:52

Looking a Yeti rambler. Do they ever do discounts?

MadeForThis · 15/11/2023 15:53

I also seems to remember deals on beer and wine last year. Cases that were free for a month or massively discounted. I think beer24 and Brewdog both did offers. Has anyone seen any deals this year?

handmademitlove · 15/11/2023 16:02

@redjoker Monopoly Deal and SkipBo are quick and simple. Can often be found on offer!

LeatherJacketWedding · 15/11/2023 16:12

would love an O2 code for the handmade Christmas decoration for Dn6 please. He loves nutcracker soldiers so that one is perfect for him! Always happy to share student discount 🎅
