What are you getting your husbands/male partner?

Need some inspiration. We have only been married 16 years.

So fair I have him a Lego technic helicopter. I have never gotten him Lego before, he has it on his amazon wish list and it's an extremely Lego heavily year for the kids so that makes sense. Christmas Day will be spent building.

Anyway, other than that, I've come up with nothing. He's 43! Looking for some inspiration. Thanks.

Laurendzx
Where would I find this?

CrushingOnRubies · 14/11/2023 10:13

Some nice trackie bottoms. He only has one pair and he works away from home a lot but never takes them with him as he's worried he'll forget to bring them home. Where he stays isn't great and I don't like the idea of him not being comfy making it even worse

Marking place for other ideas

Stephisaur · 14/11/2023 10:54

List of things that DH is getting for Christmas from various family members and myself:

Oodie
Oodie PJs (because he bought me some and is massively jealous of them)
Lego Batmobile
Playstation Portal
Corkcicle Tumbler
Rolling Stones Vinyl Record & Tshirt

That's it for now. He'll get smelly stuff etc in his stocking.

SoundTheSirens · 14/11/2023 11:01

A new phone (I know which model he wants)
Some new earphones for his iPad
A couple of books - one on stargazing, one on rewilding

Airpods. I think every time he's been for a run this year he has complained only 1 of his current pods have charged so I think he'll be pleased. Other than that the usual aftershave & slippers. I'd like to get some smaller bits so will be keeping an eye on this thread.

That's a good shout actually. He complains one of them makes a noise occasionally and it's £79.00 for a repair so might as well put it towards new ones.

Mine's getting ski goggles, wellies, a couple of books, boxers, a board game, headphones, something handmade from DS, and some smaller bits for his stocking (this is spread across everyone buying for him, not all just from me!) He requested most of it.

Mummymummy89 · 14/11/2023 13:11

It's Noah's flood out there today and I met dh for lunch and he was like a wet cat... this has inspired me to get him a proper waterproof raincoat, fisherman style. I think he'll love it!

Also as a stocking filler he's going to get a keyboard and screen cleaning kit - he mentioned that the computers get cleaned at the office but he WFH 90%.

I've been with my DP for 13 years so running out of ideas too. I've bought him

• Two hoodies
• T shirts
• Wallet
• Shower gel/deodorant
• Jeans

I really struggle with ideas for my husband. This year I’ve got him a day making a knife with a blacksmith but that might be a bit niche!

My DP would LOVE this, can I have a link please?

TeenagersAngst · 14/11/2023 13:22

I am seriously running out of ideas. He much prefers experiences to physical gifts (just buys what he needs when he needs it) and I would really love to get him a flying lesson but nearly all of them have height/weight limits which he exceeds.

Can anyone recommend one which doesn't have restrictions?

CrushingOnRubies · 14/11/2023 13:22

Ddog is getting him his favourite whiskey

Will have a snoop and see if he's running low on his Cologne

ExpressYourElf · 14/11/2023 13:33

I’ve got my DP
Bruce Springsteen tickets which I am so excited to give to him! A voucher for the pub and an Uber voucher so he can get home 😅and some whiskey soap. I want to get him a couple more bits for him to open but I’m not sure what yet. The knife thing sounds amazing!

QforCucumber · 14/11/2023 14:06

we do a stocking for each other rather than big presents - so far for DH I have toblerone minis. Nespresso pack. Starbucks voucher. Nice corkscrew. Xmas socks and some Joggers.

@DrMaxwell We went with https://boneyardlondon.com/products/1-day-forge-a-viking-knife-course it is quite pricey but I made it a combined present with our anniversary and his 40th. There are lots of other options around the country though, with cheaper options. But we do recommend this one, he really enjoyed it.

Forge a Viking Knife - Full Day Workshop

In this one day class you will be guided through the process of forging a knife, commonly known as a Viking, or Blacksmith's knife: Walking you the process, with each step demonstrated live by our instructor, you will learn the skills and techniques ne...

I am getting DH a cinema subscription. He used to love going to the movies but he hates the excessive cost. If I buy a year as a subscription he can go when he gets a chance or just because!

I bough my dh that for his birthday.

Laurdo · 14/11/2023 14:36

We don't buy each other gifts, instead we book a trip away after a few wines on boxing Day.

caringcarer · 14/11/2023 14:44

Last year I bought him an electric wheel for his bike. Not sure what to get him this year. It's a big birthday for him next September and I'm buying him an expensive Tag Heuer watch for that. I've got him bits for his stocking, a toblerone, Red Bubble T shirt, marvel socks, pack of pants, rugby shirt. I need some other stuff.

A weather station for the garden. Have lost count of the amount of times he has moaned about how unreliable the BBC is since they changed provider. So he can blooming well do his own forecasts!!!

Do you have the link please?

Stickthatupyourdojo · 14/11/2023 16:09

Weber bbq and a griddle for it. He's not having much for his birthday though as it cost a lot more than I usually spend. I couldn't think of anything for around my usual budget so figured I'd rather get him something he really wants as he doesn't want much, then buy lots of bits I'm not sure he'd appreciate.

coollam · 14/11/2023 16:11

My DH is so hard to buy for and he really isn't into excessive stuff. I bought him an exit game which is single use but I think he will like it. A diary, boring but he needs it for work. I will probably get him a bottle of gin, and he'll ask for new trainers and a jumper. Back in the old days I would get him a CD or DVD of something he wouldn't have head of or seen but I knew he would like but with streaming these days he never plays a CD. Anyway following this thread for ideas for a surprise for him!

ThreeRingCircus · 14/11/2023 16:18

I have bought DH:

A bottle of gin. He loves gin and I try to look out for brands he hasn't tried.

A new hoodie from Fat Face.

A reversible leather belt that is brown on one side and black on the other so he has two for the price of one 😄.

A meat thermometer. He's been after one for the BBQ.

The usual socks/boxers/chocolate. He never buys himself new socks or underwear.... just waits for me to buy them for Christmas 🤣.

muckandnettles · 14/11/2023 16:26

My dh is having a much loved but disgusting old t shirt framed beautifully for his office.
