When are you putting up the tree?

I’m much more excited about Christmas this year since DS is getting older and looking forward to it.

I don’t usually put up the tree until around 12th/13th but thinking of maybe doing it earlier this year.

Obviously, I still think it’s very early but want to be prepared so we are going to start getting some new decorations for when the time comes.

So when do you put your tree(s) up?

Mid December

Today! I love all things Christmas and it makes everything cosy and sparkly, I'll keep it up until the new year and we don't get bored of it 🎄

First weekend in December 🎄

I like it up for the 1st December so the weekend before as its too much mid week with afterschool activities. However, it's usually just the main tree that goes up and we put the extra decorations out over the next 2 weekends. But given my kids are already asking for the tree I think we'll end up doing the lot the weekend before.

My DD birthday is New Years Day so we take it all down around 27th/28th to do a good clean through before her birthday so it's not up as long as those who keep it up until 12th night.

Day before Christmas Eve.

Mid December, my twins birthday is beginning December, so never before that.
It goes to the tip on 1st Jan!

The weekend before Christmas

Morning of the 24th, maximum the day before. We do live candles so want the tree to be fresh! German-style Christmas, they get lit for the first time after dusk on Xmas eve, then carols & presents. Xmas dinner follows the 25th.

16th Dec, day after schools break up.

Mid December

14th December and it comes down on the 27th.

Last weekend in November. Although my C section is scheduled early December so I may bring this forward this year because everything is such an effort!

We started doing it early during covid because it was so miserable. I'm carrying this on because it makes the house smell nice and the rest of the family like it up for as long as possible. I'm going to get the tree the first weekend in December as it does actually last as long as you water it.

Normally 1st December but we'll be away at centre parcs this year so I think I'll put it up before we go so it's nice and festive when we come back!

DS is on a German exchange trip until the 18th, so sometime in the week before.

Our usual very close tree seller has retired so I need to decide whether I want another real tree or to buy a synthetic one.

I wish our schools broke up as early as yours, ours don't finish until the 22nd!

Usually the first Sunday in Dec.

In 2020 when everything was so pandemic-y and shite, I stuck it up at the end of November because we all needed cheering up. But that was a one-off (hopefully!)

@teenysaladandsniffofarose I'm so jealous! I adore Center Parcs winter wonderland. We went a few years running when the kids were younger.

I usually get a heavily discounted real tree on the 20th/21st and take down on the 30th.

I've always said I'd like to do it Christmas eve, but this year I'm wanting to do it early. I might join the early crowd and put it up on the 1st! Or I might not, can't decide.

Last weekend in November! It’s such a hassle to put up so I like to get value out of it! It’s down by the 28th tho 😬

Probably 2nd December, as that's the first weekend in December, where we are not at work. Don't like to put it up before December.
