I've bought dh some lovely & v well received presents over the past few years. Things like a decent telescope, pizza oven, coffee machine, musical instrument etc
This year we're going on a lovely trip between Christmas & new year so that's the main focus but I'd still love to get him something gorgeous just for him.
Any ideas? Budget up to £500

A backpack he’s asked for
A board game (Carcassonne expansion!)
Lego set (maybe from the Architecture series or a Marvel gauntlet)
Coffee pods

Mumoftwotoddlers · 30/10/2023 13:23

Without knowing what he's into it's difficult to give suggestions, my partner is a big gamer, so I'll get getting him whatever the latest game is and probably some other little bits like new slippers, his favourite biscuits as a stocking filler...etc

housethatbuiltme · 30/10/2023 13:37

Shoes and a wallet so far... not exactly exciting.

Planning on getting him a docking charger too and then a few other bits but not sure what yet.

Plus beer.

Lyricallie · 30/10/2023 13:39

My husband is really into warhammer, so new brushes and stuff for that. Also get him some new gym kit and some new slippers. I love that he has a hobby with stuff makes it very easy to shop for him.

Inextremis · 30/10/2023 13:40

The Flaviar Whiskey Advent calendar (got one last year and it was a hit, obviously have to give it to him before Christmas)
2 bottles of locally produced whiskey in different styles
A Lord of the Rings chess set - loves LOTR and used to play chess for his school (decades ago!)

It's his 60th birthday in January so that'll probably be England rugby merch - I'm not feeling very inspired so watching this thread with interest!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 30/10/2023 14:00

Oh dear. We tend to buy things as we want them, for ourselves or each other. So Christmas and birthdays are rather a present desert.

So he is certainly going to get a spiraliser, not to make vegetable spaghetti ☹️ but for fancy garnishes ( he cooks once or twice a week, and he likes to make a big performance 😉) . He’s probably going to get a new Aran cardigan if I can find a nice one.

Devilsmommy · 30/10/2023 14:02

Am getting mine some decent power tools, he's already got some but I think he deserves a better brand seeing as he does all the DIY in our house 😁

Nonplusultra · 30/10/2023 18:25

Clothes this year - he has a gap in his wardrobe that needs filling. It’s an easy gift year for me (for once)

SweepTheHalls · 30/10/2023 18:27

Remarkable 2 here

natura · 30/10/2023 19:14

Big present is tickets to see Metallica in Madrid next year (not my idea of a fun night out, but he'll lose his mind).

Then some Elemis shaving foam, an Italian cookbook, and a hamper of nice foods and drinks (thanks to all the legends who contributed to my post on him here).

I got a really lovely photo of him and his son on holiday this year, and I'm thinking of spending this weekend turning it into a little illustration that I can frame and give to him for Christmas, too. I'm not an artist, so it may turn out terribly, but I'm going to give it a good go!

ohmyohmy123 · 30/10/2023 19:19

Phantom aftershave
Dry robe

We don't spend overly at Xmas on each other.

stridesy · 30/10/2023 19:39

friends Lego set
safe
dvds
garden ornament
Superdry shirts

we both do lists which makes things easier.

Footprintsinthesand · 30/10/2023 19:42

Spiderman 2 for the PS5
A burger press
Whisky

These are all things he's asked for but I want him to have a surprise so will have to have a think

Soffii87 · 30/10/2023 19:45

I’ve been taking the little one swimming who just started swimming underwater.
I haven’t told DH he can do this yet because the day he first did it the swimming teacher told us we can pay for an underwater photo so I’m surprising DH with this for Christmas :D

Soffii87 · 30/10/2023 19:46

Also nice whisky, rugby merch and a nice watch have been big hits for something that is just for him

GreenCereal · 30/10/2023 19:47

So far I've got him:
Whisky
The Office Lego set
A book

Then I'll probably add some socks and a nicer tshirt than he'd normally buy, and call it a day!

YouCantBeSirius · 30/10/2023 21:05

I've bought my DH 2 Warhammer sets and a Warhammer t-shirt. Will also get the new Spider-Man ps5 game and a new ps5 controller

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 30/10/2023 22:09

So far:

An Alexa compatible shower speaker
A good travel mug for coffee on way to work
Espresso Bailey's

DresdenDoll · 30/10/2023 22:16

A driving experience
A band t shirt
A skincare set

tillyandmilly · 30/10/2023 22:20

Wow £500 woah! You can buy some very nice pressies with that - I have a budget of £50 for my DH - might buy him some new pyjamas!

LadyB49 · 30/10/2023 22:30

Have to deal with birthday first.

He is very difficult to buy for so very boring really ... two shirts and a pair of shoes which he chose and being wrapped as his 'surprise'. Theatre ticket he doesn't know about. Some Hotel Chocolat.
So don't know where to start for Christmas. Perhaps with tickets for another show.

YorkieTheRabbit · 30/10/2023 22:36

I’ve got him a bottle of cognac, whisky, Hotel Chocolat macaroons, and some L’occitaine stuff that he likes, alpaca socks. Other than that, I haven’t a clue 🤷‍♀️
I’m following for inspiration

Mindovermatter247 · 30/10/2023 22:36

Usually new trainers and clothes as he’s usually short by this time of year.unless he asks me for something specific he’s quite happy with 5hat because it means he don’t have to go shopping.

GettingStuffed · 30/10/2023 22:56

God knows. I've got his stocking nearly done, but I haven't a clue about his main present

Lastminutebride · 31/10/2023 06:53

I’ve no idea however wonder if a coffee machine might be a good idea. I don’t drink coffee so no idea but they seem popular.

any recommendations on brand/type? Thanks
