Following as I have dds the same age and they don’t really want much.

My very boring present list at the moment is

a fluffy jacket for dd2 from marks £30
a tank top for dd1 from marks (she has terrible taste and wants it)
I am considering getting them a hotel chocolate velvetiser to share £70 ish
i have bought dd1 a 1930s fairy tale book she will love £20
dd2 has an Amazon wish list that includes cushions, blankets, a yoga mat, a mouse mat, Japanese style clothes.
pyjamas / onesies

Emmmmz9 · 02/10/2023 13:58

@stealthninjamum same here! They’ve asked for some clothes and that’s it.
thank you for your ideas

DD turns 14 this month so some things I’ve got or will likely get for birthday & Christmas:

Mark Hill waver (on her wish list). I’m going to do a hamper with that plus mousse, heat defence spray, serum, hair wrap, masks, clips etc.

A nightlight Bluetooth speaker (@£30 on Amazon, from a recommendation on one of the Christmas threads)

Eyeshadow palette
Morphe brow kit

Good colouring/sketching pencils

Lego 3 in 1 birdhouse

Perfume

Cozy pjs/loungewear always go down well too.

I find with teens it's easiest to just ask them to make a wishlist and say you will see the sort of things they want. I never promised my male teen I will get them all but it gives me a good starting point. I often see he has put a book or some hobby related equipment, last year he put a clock for his bedroom I didn't know he even wanted. I still wrap them up and they still go in his stocking with a chocolate orange, socks, pants, his favourite shower gel, bar of Toblerone, some kind of character T shirt he has every year. Oh and a Xmas tea towel because obviously this is a sign that Santa wants him to dry up dishes/clear the table after Xmas dinner.

Mine want skincare, particularly Drunk Elephant.

Emmmmz9 · 02/10/2023 15:09

@AbsolutelyNebulous just ordered the Lego birdhouse - it’s gorgeous!

@AbsolutelyNebulous that Lego set looks absolutely adorable
Think I'll get that for my tween

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 02/10/2023 16:44

Christmas for my teens is shaky about kyung nicer versions of things they use. Eg if make up from primark or Superdrug then get them a ‘cooler’ brand like fenty or Kylie.
pj’s instead of primark pretty little thing/hollister/boux avenue etc.

PuttingDownRoots · 02/10/2023 20:27

I have the lego birdhouse and it is indeed extremely cute!

Last year my niece was very happy with her Primark "oodie".

Thinking of getting my 12yo a long hot water bottle this year.

Zola1 · 02/10/2023 20:33

I also get mine to work on a wishlist so when she sees stuff she likes online she just screen shots it and sends it into a group chat of just me and her on WhatsApp so I can keep track 🤷🏼‍♀️
Just had a look and so far it's featuring a lot of random stuff like new Crocs (baby blue or grey), earrings, Kylie skin, Adanola gym wear, Chelsea peers pyjamas, Nails Inc Percy Pig nail varnish (?! What). A cute glass mug, new Dior lip oil, Glossier perfume etc. Just loads of stuff she would be buzzing with and I might not think of!

Moon lamp
Favourite band clock made from a record

@SlatternIsMyMiddleName which are your daughter’s fave premium makeup brands please?

OP posts:
SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 08/10/2023 09:50

@Emmmmz9 the current favs are:

Rare Beauty - the Selena Gomez range. I have to say I haven’t seen an item I haven’t liked for DD (or myself!). Definitely the current fav.

Fenty - Rihanna’s range.

Charlotte tilbury - I’m not a fan of all of it but some individual bits are fantastic. Happy to have a look at DD’s stash if you need direction.

Kylie cosmetics - personally I wouldn’t want to give a penny to the K family, but DD really likes one of the highlighters.

One thing I noticed amongst teenage girls now is that they really like make up that enhances their natural look. At that age I was all about the bright eyeshadow and crazy lipstick. Teen daughter is much more sophisticated with her make up than I ever was.

Comedycook · 08/10/2023 09:53

My 13 year old dd recently got a grown up style jewelry making kit...she's obsessed with it and spends hours making different bracelets.

Another recent hit was a waffle maker.
