We were looking at the Christmas stuff in B&M.

I don't want to wish the time away but I'm looking forward to November and December, all the twinkly lights, fun and excitement.

I know what you mean, we do first weekend in December usually. I'd quite like the weather to turn lovely and frosty as I think that helps me enjoy the Autumn/Winter. I also find that Halloween gets in the way of my looking forward to all things Christmas, so I'm always happy when it's over!

My late best mate always put hers up on the last weekend before school broke up for Christmas. She'd then keep it up all the way until the 12th night of Christmas. Proper old school she was and I miss her terribly, she died just before lockdown.

Try to enjoy autumn before you dive into winter! Will be more special if you wait.

Plus I’m sitting in the garden as it’s 20c!!

I completely understand where you are coming from.
Before kids I wasn't interested and there were a few years I didn't put my tree up at all but now I can't wait! Holding off and have bough some Halloween items crap to get us closer to being able to Christmas up the living room.

Would doing some Halloween activities help? I'm kind of getting the desire to do some 'festive' stuff as its been a fairly crap year so I'm going to do some general pumpkin themed stuff with the kids - we don't usually do Halloween but might as well for a bit of fun.

We don't do the tree and Xmas before DS's birthday (12 Dec) so a bit of time before we can get started on that!

I don't talk about Christmas or do anything Christmassy, including looking at Christmas stuff with my DC till December. It's still a month of it which is plenty

Mine keep asking but I’ve told them we need to get Halloween done first. In the past I’ve done halloween themed trees and just left them up changing the decs mid November, I’m half tempted to do this this year.

Satisfy your decorating twitch by decorating for autumn/halloween first.

Use to put mine up at the beginning of dec when my son was little and we all did it together. Now it doesn’t get done unless I do it. Thinking of an experiment this year and see if anyone says or asks about it if I don’t put it up. Xmas isn’t the same without small children

The earliest I will do it is 30th Nov as that's my birthday and sometimes it's a nice little birthday present to me.

Usually we try to do the first weekend DH isn't working in Dec, which is 9th Dec this year.

We are putting Halloween decs up today- a lot earlier than usual but I'm in the mood to do something festive!
Christmas decs will go up 1st December this year.

I'm dreading putting the tree up this year . I bought a new puppy earlier in the spring and out of all the dogs I've ever had , this will be the little fucker that messes with the Christmas tree 🙄.

Christmas is 1 day but people still decorating for weeks in advance. You don't have to decorate exactly for Halloween but some nice autumn colours, uncarved pumpkins etc and some twinkly lights.

Autumn yeah I get it but Halloween webs and spiders etc would be crazy!

I love Christmas, but we don't put our Christmas tree up until the day before Christmas Eve. On the other hand, we keep it up until January the 13th.

I'm watching cheesy Christmas films and decorating the fireplace with harvest /autumn decor - pumpkins, candles, berries etc. right now. Christmas decorations will be going up 1st December but I'll be planning, reading Christmas books and watching Christmas films and episodes from now on. If only the weather would change - summer's over!

Oh come now, Christmas board it not it's October, it's not "normal" to put Christmas decs up this early.
