We were looking at the Christmas stuff in B&M.

I don't want to wish the time away but I'm looking forward to November and December, all the twinkly lights, fun and excitement.

Penultimate weekend before Christmas, it goes up on the Friday, because we have a party that weekend. Never earlier, not even when the dc were small, but nobody else put theirs up more than a day orntwo earlier then. The world has gone mad.

I quite like it down before I go back to work, by 2nd January usually.

If it's up much longer than a fortnight, the baubles need dusting.

Never going to happen in our house until December.

The weekend before Christmas is early enough! No need to do it before then.

Ahh this brought me back to when my dc were small, and would start asking when they saw Christmas displays in the shops.

I used to say that people might think we were a shop or a pub if we decorated before December and come in to our house and try and buy their toys.

Then one day, towards the end of primary school, I had taken the Christmas tree out in October to measure it for my sister who was buying her own one. The kids came home and were mildly concerned that I had lost the plot, and not at all excited.

They grow up so fast.
