@Flubadubba I think they would be perfect. They are quite messy initially though. DS is 9 and is ND so is immature for his age, he has enjoyed playing with the different sets for 3 or 4 years now and asks for a new one each year.

The Thomas & Friends minis advent calender has dropped to 17.99 on Amazon (from 23.99). I'm tempted but am also considering buying a bundle of minis on Ebay and making my own.

I've been thinking of doing the same as well! Only thing that puts me off is my son prefers the regular sized and track, the minis don't fit on a track so he doesn't play with the ones he currently has that much.

Thanks for the Oliver Bonas tip, and the idea of an underwater disco light. DD age 9 will love this and with the OB incentive and my blue light card it came to £2.45. I forgot to go through TCB but can't complain at that price. Thanks again!

Not a bargain but I’ve seen a few people looking for Terry’s chocolate mint (instead of orange!).

I got 2 this morning from Premier stores (ours is a petrol station). They were 2 for £3 and also had the toffee crunch flavour

Saw them (Terry’s mint choc oranges)today in the Co-op on offer at £1.50 each.

My son is at three parties this weekend and I’m really strapped for cash, has anyone seen a nice gift for a girl about £5 I really can’t afford more than that at the moment, feel really guilty so if it’s a bargain and would of cost more I’d feel a bit better! TIA

If you have a Cherry Lane garden centre near you, I bought a Santa Operation game (based on the normal Operation game) for just 99p yesterday! Bargain!

@Worrywortlady it was StylishlyParty on Etsy though I’ve just had another look and the discounts aren’t what they were. It’s only 5% off now.

Everything was a £1 as they are closing down…but it comes from a company with a different name so not sure. I got a £4 refund and 4 items replaced with items not suitable…..mine were all for an adult birthday. Would not use again.

Manga help.....
My son has mainly requested obscure manga titles this Christmas! I've checked Amazon but a lot of them either aren't available or are eye-wateringly expensive! Does anyone know any hidden gem type websites where I could look?

Forbidden Planet is your friend here. No such thing as cheap manga unfortunately but they often have a 3 for 2. The good news is that they hold their value pretty well or increase in value so my DD has made money selling ones she no longer reads.

@Favouritefruits For older kids/teens, the Snakesss boardgame game has been at Poundland for £5 if you can find it (I got it a couple of weeks ago).

A proper full size board game with good reviews. A bargain for £5.
