In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

@Callmesleepy Thank you. Dsd posted them a parcel in the summer. I can’t recall how much it cost her but I remember thinking it was expensive. Ordering from their local shops is probably the way to go. A Moonpig card is a great idea.

My 5poundstuff hoodie arrived today and it is a Huggle! It is not as thick as the Oodies I got last year and I would say it’s a slightly smaller size but it’s perfect for ds3 so I’m happy with that.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but I was after some stuff from smiggle and managed to get it all in the sale. Went into store to avoid the postage costs!

Scout2016 · 28/09/2023 19:42

Whoever was after ideas Oliver Bonas do a few books. I went for Speeches That Changed The World with BLC discount for a friend into history and social policy.

PunishmentSnart · 28/09/2023 19:45

@Favouritefruits that party shop (forgot the name sorry) posted upthread has colouring sets that were pretty large when arrived and are a decent gift.. Will find my order for you now.

imnottoofussed · 28/09/2023 19:46

I'm only getting £5 at Oliver bonas too. Maybe if I leave my basket a bit they might send me something.

On another note I ordered two pairs of cashmere seconds fingerless gloves on turtle doves ebay site. They've arrived and I'm pleased with the colours, a sort of Taipei beige and a pastel pink. No black marks on the labels either but they did have stars stuck to them apparently to show where the faults were but I honestly can't see a thing wrong with them.

PunishmentSnart · 28/09/2023 19:47

@Favouritefruits stylishly party. Lots of little gifts on sale and they look really good. Could prob get £5 worth of gifts by adding stuff together

wutheringkites · 28/09/2023 20:02

Thanks so much for the OB tip. I bought myself a paint by numbers kit.

Guys, my DD has requested from Santa to bring her a toy dog :) She'll be 2 years, 9 months this Christmas.

Any recommendations? I was looking at the little live pets dog, but perhaps there's a nicer option. It will be her "big gift".

The code KATIEWILLIAMS (not me just one of her local influencer mums will get you 10% off.

lovely quality stuff and you're supporting a small mum run business!

My son is at three parties this weekend and I’m really strapped for cash, has anyone seen a nice gift for a girl about £5 I really can’t afford more than that at the moment, feel really guilty so if it’s a bargain and would of cost more I’d feel a bit better! TIA

The works had a 3 for £15 deal very recently that may still be running. I filled our party present cupboard with it! Worth a look in your local one x

Someaddedsugar · 28/09/2023 20:21

These books are a good price on Amazon and are both lovely.

Ah found the new thread and trying to catch up. Sorry for being annoying, what was the Oliver Bonas deal?

wutheringkites · 28/09/2023 20:37

@Eaglefree

Create an account for £5 credit, at checkout it will actually be £10 credit with no minimum spend.

Click and collect is the cheapest delivery option (£2).

It’s £5 off voucher if you download their new app

LostMyRubySlippers · 28/09/2023 20:39

Anyone who was looking for the Snakesss game & unable to get it from Poundland (£5), I’ve just seen it’s on bargainmax for £6.99, but they also have a 20% off voucher, so works out around £5.60

To everyone buying the bath disco light from Oliver Bonas for their young kids, be aware that it says it is for 14 years+ and shouldn't be submerged...

My mum got one for my girls from NOTHS that looks very similar (doesn't submerge) and there's no apparent reason why they'd not be ok for younger kids.

Ehunt1 · 28/09/2023 20:50

We’ve had the Oliver Bonas bath disco light for a coupe of years and it’s still going strong. My kids love it. It floats on top of the water. Don’t see any reason why it would be 14+.

chocolateisavegetable · 28/09/2023 20:53

Someone was saying that they haven’t heard anything about Ocado slots - I believe they stagger by area so that their website doesn’t crash with everyone trying to book at the same time (I’m looking at you Tesco). I’ve just had my email this evening to say they’ll be available tomorrow

This was me 🙋 Thanks for the update. Was wondering if I missed something!

Just wanted to say thank you to Restie and everyone. I've had a tough few years healthwise due to complications from covid and now have covid for the 4th time 🤦‍♀️ but these threads have helped enormously with saving money, but also reading the kindness from everyone has given me a boost and a light at the end of what seems like a very long tunnel. Because of all of you I've been able to treat my dc, dh and family in ways I never would have been able to. All this really just to say its not just a bargain thread x

It is a great thread! I’ve bought way too much already but got some great bargains.

Hope you’re feeling better soon! And here’s to an easier and healthier end to the year x

Keeponkeepigon · 28/09/2023 21:08

There is a shop in Birmingham called Tokyo Toys - they have a massive section of Manga books. They might be worth a call to see if they’ll post our to you!

Smileatthesmallthings · 28/09/2023 21:10

@Montanna15 if you're a member of the hobbycraft club there's a £5 discount this month. I assume you'll get it if you sign up now, and think there's 15% off first purchase maybe, it's been a while since I signed up

MarshmallowsOnToast · 28/09/2023 21:20

Thank you everyone for the Oliver Bonas ideas, really appreciate them all! 🎅🎁
Some more obscure ones so gives me some ideas to investigate.

Thanks again x

shitafrick · 28/09/2023 21:24

Really enjoyed looking through Oliver Bonas! I've gone for a bathroom guest book (£9.50) as part of a new home gift. Love it. 😀

Think I'm going to sign my husband up and use his credit to order the Herd Mentality travel game (£10) as that looks like a fun little game for the games drawer (or a gift.)

Keeponkeepigon · 28/09/2023 21:25

Oliver Bonas - I could only get a £5 credit. I must have signed up for the newsletter previously. I purchased a i phone charger stand for my teen. It’s charges airpods at the same time too. £3 with click and collect - thanks so much!
