In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Thanks , not the most exciting but got a pack of the long matches delivered completely free from OB , which will be used and pretty enough to gift if they come , mind you there’s no way I would have paid £10.50 for them pre sale 🤦🏻‍♀️

cinders222 · 28/09/2023 15:01

Got the Reindeer noses and chocolate brownie bar from OB, used blue light discount with the £10 so £2.45 delivered.

I saw the post about the Meta Quest 1 being reduced on Very. My son one on his list, but they're just releasing v.3 so will this mean thr v.1 is pretty much null and void, or will he still be able to get use out of it? I know nothing about them, so am clueless!

Think it was probably me that posted that but the discount is on the meta 2. DP has it and I would say its definitely not outdated. I would have a look online to see what the difference between the 2 and 3 is. It may be just a bit of a hardware update. There is a meta store for games so i would also check that the games are compatible with both versions too.

If anyone's looking for some Christmas bedding Matalan have 20% off some nice duvet covers etc today.

WidowedMum · 28/09/2023 15:38

Hobbycraft are doing 20% off all their workshops when booked before the end of October. Doesn’t apply to the gift vouchers for them but you can filter by date and choose January onwards. There’s even some between Christmas and new year which I thought might be a good gift for kids so they don’t have to wait.

Classes

There’s also a £5 voucher in the latest email (can’t be used on workshops) so worth keeping an eye out.

The Thomas & Friends minis advent calender has dropped to 17.99 on Amazon (from 23.99). I'm tempted but am also considering buying a bundle of minis on Ebay and making my own.

My son is at three parties this weekend and I’m really strapped for cash, has anyone seen a nice gift for a girl about £5 I really can’t afford more than that at the moment, feel really guilty so if it’s a bargain and would of cost more I’d feel a bit better! TIA

Callmesleepy · 28/09/2023 15:46

@Threeboysadogandacat I think postage will be painful, would you be better off ordering something from a NZ shop and sending them a Moonpig style card with their faces on or a lovely family photo? Mine also love facetime if there's an option for something like an echo show to call each other over WiFi?

EekGoesTheBaby · 28/09/2023 15:52

@Dextybooboo My Puppy's Home is currently 39.99 on Amazon and at Smyths

SgtCatherineCawood · 28/09/2023 15:54

What age for @Favouritefruits? If younger I picked up these in Asda at the weekend, £7 but on two for
£10. I thought the marble run in particular was good as it says you can add more than one set so if someone else has the same idea they can just build a bigger marble run!

WidowedMum · 28/09/2023 15:57

@Favouritefruits depends on age and whether you have Amazon but someone put these games on the thread the other week One trick pony

Daimyum · 28/09/2023 15:59

Re the benefit bargain, there is 10% on top cashback there too

Crimsonbow · 28/09/2023 16:08

I got my friend the famous women notebook and then "DH" got our kids the bath disco light 😂

@Mydogisamentalist my DS requested a spiderman mask for his birthday and I got a good cheap one from ebay. Just checked and the seller I used doesn't do ghost spider but someone else might

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 28/09/2023 16:10

Manga help.....
My son has mainly requested obscure manga titles this Christmas! I've checked Amazon but a lot of them either aren't available or are eye-wateringly expensive! Does anyone know any hidden gem type websites where I could look?

@Favouritefruits can I just say £5 is plenty and personally I'd prefer £5 in a card than a toy anyways.

Do not feel bad!! £5 is more than enough for a kids party. I would go to home bargains and get her a stationary set and some sweets, skittles or similar (for less than a fiver!)

Favouritefruits · 28/09/2023 16:20

Thank you everyone!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 28/09/2023 16:22

My Valentte order from 11am yesterday has already been delivered! Wow!

All looks lovely although a shame the BOGOF items are in the same box as I was hoping to use as gifts. I've had a fiddle and if you take the bottom of the box out and maybe pop in more tissue you could safely put one item in although it's a bit bigger than required. Probably best for hand delivery still.

That Oliver Bonas tip though - wow!

ThreeRingCircus · 28/09/2023 16:44

B&M is great for games and toys for £5 and under. Or I agree with a PP that some nice stationery always seems to go down well.

In case it's not been mentioned, Ocado have opened up their Christmas delivery slots to smart pass holders today. Check your emails too - I got sent a voucher to cover the £9.99 delivery charge for my Christmas eve slot.

Strange as I received an email on 19th saying I'd be notified about am Xmas slot the following week (day before I could book) and have had nothing since... 😭

MarshmallowsOnToast · 28/09/2023 09:46

Not used my Oliver Bonas credit yet so if people can keep posting what they've ordered/ideas that would be great GrinWink been some good ideas so far but nothing that fits the bill

I've ordered x 2 lovely jewellery items - including a necklace £5 down from £28 and including postage it was £14.95. Amazing Grin

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 28/09/2023 16:47

Sorry x3 items!

Have you tried forbidden planet? My DD likes Manga / Anime and gets a lot of her books there. They have a 3 for 2 offer on usually (depending how obscure you're talking)

Smileatthesmallthings · 28/09/2023 16:52

@Favouritefruits If you have a hobbycraft nearby you could use the £5 voucher, and get something crafty in there perhaps?
