@Callmesleepy Thank you. I’ve got him a Boden crocodile towelling hoodie and crocodile book for Christmas so i’m thinking a toy for his end of January birthday. The problem is I have to post to New Zealand so plan to send in one parcel and also, I haven’t seen them in real life since last November so don’t really know what they have. Almost tempted to send a gift for the little ones 2nd birthday in April!

WimbyAce · 27/09/2023 22:34

My daughter has had several rainbocorns and they seem to go down well. She got a husky one last year which was q cute. They seem to come with random bits of tat but I guess that's standard lol

Confusedmeanderings · 27/09/2023 22:35

Thanks for the Benefit tip, that's SIL sorted!

Ewock · 27/09/2023 22:44

I just popped on Oliver Bonas as well, sign up for an account and they credit £10. I got my mum a set of cocktail cards for £3.50 which included the £2 click and collect. Very happy with that. Thank you to the pp for the heads up.
I've just order a couple of books from World of Books - when I signed up they sent a 10% discount code. Prices are good for the books. And they have a multi buy offer buy 3 books and get a 4th free, it's on their under £5.99 ones

@Honeyandwine Thank you. It’s so difficult. They emigrated to New Zealand last year. He was only two and little more than a baby. He seems to have grown up sooo much but I don’t really know what he’s into now! I need something that’s not too heavy to post.

Maxibon21 · 27/09/2023 22:47

Hi, just thought I'd add this pic for a rainbocorns combo pack in the Tesco club card toy sale. Not sure if it's a great deal or not if you shop around. I've no idea what they are tbf. Hopefully that may help someone x

WetFlump · 27/09/2023 23:08

Icamehomelikeastone · 27/09/2023 23:10

So over a year of contemplating the velvitiser, I have tonight ordered it. Even though i recently admitted on here that it may be a choclate fountain that I need

WetFlump · 27/09/2023 23:10

Friends, board game, £6.50 amazon

Gracesquirrel · 27/09/2023 23:10

Thank you for the Oliver Bonas tip I got the £10 credit for signing up and used it to get a set of 3 Vegan Hot Chocolate Spoons for my best mate who is dairy and egg intolerant so these will be fab for her and all I had to pay was £3.95 delivery.

To get the credit I just went to Oliver Bonas and on the home page towards the right was a pop out that offered me £5 credit for opening an account with them and then there was a box to put your email in for the newsletter sign up so I did that too - went to my account and there was a £10 store credit waiting for me. New customers only.

When you go to pay at checkout it should take £10 off. Said £5 for me but took £10 off

@Delahot - we had my dd's 13th birthday abroad. She loved having a birthday sash, badge, massive card and banner which were all really light, but had impact. We took "useful" presents like a swimming costume, a magazine, put books she;d asked for on her Kindle, sweets, small Lego kit, card game and various vouchers. She got to choose what we ate/did which she loved. Then we had bigger presents when we got home. She loved it!

@Ewock how did you get the £10 credit?

A pp explained it better than me:

You do need to press the apply store credit button at checkout

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 27/09/2023 23:47

@Sunsept I got 4 bars last year. Then a few people said theirs looked manky inside and no good for gifting so I thought I'd better not take the risk. Me and DP ate them all and all were perfectly fine - I was already fed up of dairy milk by the second bar 😄.

SootspriteSearcher · 28/09/2023 00:31

Thank you for the Oliver bonas deal. I ordered the funky fungi game, perfect for dds stocking and was free as £7 plus the £2 click & collect. 😊

Itsfridaynightok · 28/09/2023 00:56

What's so good about the velvetiser?
Is it just a milk frother?

I have the old version of this and it's fab use it most days for coffee and I occasionally throw in some choc powder once the milk is spinning and you get a fab hot chocolate!

Christmalights · 28/09/2023 06:16

Jam - I got the monster truck for £28.99 in feb this year on Amazon so I think it might be worth holding out.

thank you for the boys polly pocket recommendations - searching eBay for vintage mini toys!

ExPreschoolTrustee · 28/09/2023 06:33

@Threeboysadogandacat - I use Mightyape.nz to send presents to NZ for my DN's - it's like Amazon essentially - prices in NZD but they get there a bit quicker

We are finally going over there this year though so it's going to be a bit different!

lazysundaymorningcoffee · 28/09/2023 06:38

Thanks for the Oliver Bonas tip.

I just ordered a chocolate pizza for DS' stocking and a hot chocolate bomb for DS' Christmas eve box for £0.95 delivered. Bargain.
