In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

@BiteyBitingBiters We got the bluey advent calendar, it's 12 story books and 12 colouring books. The story books are those episode books so if you already have some it's probably not worth it, but I'm trying to encourage DS away from Bing so went with this one 😂 it was £28 when I first saw it but dropped to £12 which feels like a good price for it and hopefully less drama than a chocolate calendar

@TheBigFish I'd get any vegans a pretentious vegan cheeseboard for Christmas. I've heard of Fauxmageriebut there may be others.

I’m dairy free and vegan cheese is not something everyone likes. Especially people who formerly loved actual cheese unfortunately.
We have wasted a small fortune figuring this out.

Hi everyone, always follow these threads every year but never usually post! Finding it hard to find to my xmas mojo this year though as waiting for a big operation so just constantly worrying about that instead of christmas. So trying to get myself into xmas mode and have ordered a few things this morning.
Only have a small contribution but I've bought for my disney mad son, rubik's disney platinum 3x3 cube £12.33 on amazon at the moment, seems like a good price to me as cant find anywhere else that sells it.
Also wondering does anyone know if/when/how to get legislation advent calendars discounted please? I'm wanting the star wars and city for my boys. Thanks in advance. For anyone that has someone that loves bluey, the book advent is currently £12 on amazon, not sure wether to buy that now or see if it drops a little closer to xmas! 😊

The bluey advent calendar is £10 at the works. Its out of stock online but my local store had quite a few in on Saturday.

Have many people had success with the OnThatAss free pair? I added a reminder in my calendar to cancel after the first month but with a day to go, the first pair hadn’t even arrived yet, let alone DH being able to test them out.

Requested a replacement pair and they still haven’t arrived so had to cancel the subscription anyway to avoid being charged for the next month. Still, beither have arrived, 3 days later. Wondering if it was all a bit of a con to keep you subscribed and waiting…

Oh what a nightmare! Mine arrived really quickly but I've put them away for Xmas - I want on to cancel but it gave me the option to pause instead so I decided to pause until February so dh would get a chance to try them and put a note in my calendar to reassess and decide whether to cancel then - so I don't think it's a scam - juts that you've been unlucky - but hopefully you'll be able to pause it.

Husband has announced he’d like some walking / hiking clothes. Any ideas on good quality brand without breaking the bank?

PeoniesAreMyFavouriteFlower · 02/10/2023 13:57

Katie Alice has quite a few things with big discounts. We got the Festival Folk bowls, and they’re really nice. Some good deals on wine glasses/glasses too.

Is anyone receiving Argos discount codes that they won't use, and would be willing to pm me please? Tentatively thread related as I'm clearing for Christmas, and the piles of books everywhere are getting overwhelming! Looks like I've just missed a 20% off furniture offer, which is exactly what happened last time I made up my mind to get organised 😭

I had an email from Millets this morning to say they had 50% off trousers and a further 20% off selected ones. DH recently got some craghopper waterproof trousers which seem good.

Dee1224 · 02/10/2023 14:21

@mmmmmchocolate - thanks for the info on the Boots Clinique gwp. I got it to work with two moisturisers.

Not very Christmassy, but Soak&Sleep are offering 25% off all full price items with code: TH25

I think it’s today only.

I have a lot of their bedding and quite like it.

Athlebad · 02/10/2023 14:41

Everything left in Wilko is now 70-80% off

I got a pair after about 2/3 weeks and cancelled my subscription there and then. It said something about a one month notice period but the cancellation seemed to go through ok. They're reasonable quality but I think I'll stick to bawbags.

IggyAce · 02/10/2023 14:50

@alfiebest my Dh has an under armour half zip for walking he got it from Amazon. He’s also got trousers and a soft shell jacket from Mountain Warehouse, they often run promotions.
Peter Storm from Go Outdoors have a good range of reasonably price items for walking.
I got some Bridgedale walking socks for £6.99 a pair from TK Maxx, they are a favourite of my DHs.

I love vegan cheese, but I like quite basic vegan cheese. I like Asda's own, cathedral city etc. I was excited to try La Fauxmaugerie last year when I saw it in Waitrose as I'd been considering doing a big order from there and I'm so glad I found it in waitress first because I couldn't even finish it. No one in my house liked it, it ended up in the bin.

I'd only spend the money on something like this if you know the receiver likes it.

ExPreschoolTrustee · 02/10/2023 15:12

@Honestmummydearest my free pants came in about 2 weeks - sent from the Netherlands so maybe why it takes longer or get lost

As PP said - they are nice and bright but not really worth £10 especially if you can't choose which ones

I'm getting another pair for DS2 then cancelling - will hopefully get a pair not too dissimilar to the first (or the arguments...)

Sorry can't remember who was looking for an air up discount but I was just listening to the Shagged Married Annoyed podcast (don't judge me!) and they had an advert on for it, said you get a 10% discount across everything on the air up site with code MARRIED10. No idea if that's good or if you're likely to be able to do better!

Place marking

onlyatchristmastime · 02/10/2023 16:41

Might have already been mentioned and not exactly earth-shattering given you need a membership but for those who have access to one, Costco has Maybelline Sky High mascara (aka the best mascara ever and v v popular on tiktok) at 19.99 for a 3-pack. They’re currently £14.99 for a pack of two on Amazon and I usually pay £11.99 for a single tube. Would be a great present for anyone who likes makeup, especially teen girls.

Callmesleepy · 02/10/2023 16:52

@Coronado2 @SadlyACupOfTeaDoesNotSolveEverything good tips on the cheese. Sad times, I had a fancy fake camembert with crusty baguette on my Christmas food plan. If anyone knows any good dairy free camembert please share the love, they can't all brie bad!

EekGoesTheBaby · 02/10/2023 17:13

@Callmesleepy they can't all brie bad!

🤣 Edam, girl! That made me giggle.
