We’re going out for dinner. I’m excited.

DownTheRabbitHoIe · 27/05/2023 17:33

Where are you off to Wreck? I need to book somewhere to celebrate the end of DS's exams next month - I think he'd like Chinese.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/05/2023 18:02

I made a batch of Martha Stewart Chewy'n'Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Partly because it's National Biscuit Day on Monday (but biscuits aren't cookies ) and one of the guests on Saturday Kitchen -Paul A Young, chocolatier , made cookies with ice-cream middle dipped in chocolate and sprinkles

DS likes Milllies Cookies , I buy him some if I'm near one of the shops , but they always seem undercooked to me . I got him to try a couple of the Martha recipe ones today , he was impressed . DD and I sampled a few too (I'm avoiding chocolate but I thought live a little )
I bought Belgian chocolate buttons which hold their shape well in cooked

I always think about cooking some on Christmas Eve but I think they'd be too much , they're quite rich .

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 27/05/2023 18:36

He's still alive. Grin
fluffy yep, I always keep a couple of big packs in mainly for me just in case.

Cracking weather. 🍦

WreckTangled · 27/05/2023 19:20

We'll be "helping" DH in the garden (ie getting in his way) Xmas Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 28/05/2023 17:45

Had a lovely restful day which was well needed.

Just had a roast dinner and I am now eating a FAB ice lolly (retro).

Afternoon!

I'm home from Edinburgh. Change of travel plan in that I got a lift to Wigan with a friend and then got the train 3 trains back home. Currently sitting in the baking garden with the dog, who was very pleased to see me!

Dh worked all weekend and is working today. Dd was feeling better but isn’t great again today. I’ve got all the washing done, folded and put away too!

There's an annoying northerly wind today and the next few days but it’s still pretty warm (I’m in shorts and a vest top).

CrazyBaubles · 30/05/2023 13:37

209 Afternoon. We are maintaining scorching weather here. I'm just waiting for the last washing load to finish and I'll Chuck it on the line.

Im trying to enjoy a few hours peace this afternoon. My half done cross stitch, 1/3 completed crochet baby blanket and barely started book are just looking at me and I'm so unfocused I don't know what to do.

We have a sparrows nest tucked under the solar panels on the roof. They're so loud, and they (and the other local small birds) are eating me out of house and home but I'm enjoying watching them.
I've bought another feeder and a bracket with a bird bath on top that will be put up in the next day or so.

Lastly, in the spirit of being a Christmas countdowner, I had an hour to kill this morning while my mum was at an appointment and bought something festive.
I found a small second hand book shop and picked up this cute kids book (pic).
Last Christmas my niece was full of questions about why we have Christmas, why do people go to church, why people sing songs in church etc - hopefully this will be an ok way to teach her without being preachy as no one in my family is religious at all Xmas Smile

The book looks lovely, Crazy. Xmas Smile

I've had quite a busy day today as I walked the dog; went to the allotment to weed / water / plant tomato plants out; repotted my chillies; went to Sainsbury's & to
pick up the dog's snack / training items; then had to go to Aldi for bits I'd forgotten as we've had a BBQ.

It's been stunning today as well, Crazy. ☀️☀️

Morning!

I took the dog for a walk this morning and it was rather pleasant! We did run a fair bit which wasn't entirely my choice, but he gets very excited about the woods we went to. 🙈🤣

Last day off today, boooo! I feel like cleaning and tidying will be on the agenda.

I'm in Germany at the moment. Spent a few days at Europa Park in Rust.
Completely exhausted now (hitting 25 - 30k steps a day). So looking forward to going home tomorrow, and hope the weather is a bit cooler than here, about 27 today.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/06/2023 00:06

Oooh we've skipped a day of the Countdown,

So 01/06/23 was 207 (and Pinch Punch First of the Month)

Today ..is 206

I have finished work now for a week <hurrah>
Watched Eastenders on catchup

Busy day Friday - washing, shopping, cleaning

So off to bed now so I can enjoy it Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 02/06/2023 09:02

Morning!

Busy day back at work yesterday hence radio silence on here.

We took the dog to the allotment yesterday as the kids were staying overnight at the in-laws'. He had a whale of a time including stalking my resident rats! DH did the watering and I did some very much needed weeding.

No sign of rain for the next fortnight here. Bit concerning.

Today is washing , putting clothes away then we’re going to That Larndan

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2023 08:01

Hello!

I'm off to Liverpool today with DD, spending some time with her in the same way I spent time with DS the other week.

We will go to Pizza Express again and I know she wants to go to Smiggle too. Other than that, I'm not sure. I know she won't be as expensive as DS though! 🙈🤣

I am in London for the start of my 50th birthday celebrations (as I have an awkward birthday near Christmas we have come earlier in the year). We are at the Sunborn yacht Hotel which is pretty cool.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2023 18:19

Bet it's toasty in London, Why!

We cooked in Liverpool, particularly in the World Museum. Didn't stay in there long! 🥵🥵

DD chose some clothes in Primark and wanted more books. We had a nice time. ☺️

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 03/06/2023 23:09

It was quite toasty Fluffy but chillier on the way back from the Savoy Theatre where we watched Pretty Woman the musical, which was quite good.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/06/2023 09:30

We were in London yesterday too whydoes, it was a really nice evening ,perfect for walking about (we did a London Ghost Walk) . There is so much history in London that I know nought about ,

I'd definately do the walk again in the colder darker months .

London was so busy ,loads of tourists , Hen Nights ( dressed up) , theatre go-ers . it's good to see .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/06/2023 09:31

Oooh 204

WreckTangled · 04/06/2023 13:18

It’s v v warm here. Not complaining though. DH is working today so I’m just doing some washing and sitting in the sun. Back to school for dd tomorrow for the first time (bar half a day) in five weeks. Ds has an inset day so I’m going to take him to the zoo.
