Don't suppose anyone has any argos codes? Dropped my 6 year old phone on the kitchen tiles and screen is knackered. Need a cheapy replacement but even those are expensive without a code or discount of some kind. Joys of being on mat leave 😭

I've noticed in my local asda that they no longer seem to put seasonal items into sale anymore, they box it up and send it to wherever instead!

For example, Halloween this year once it was over everything went. Whereas last year I picked up a few bits cheap afterwards.

Same with Xmas last year's, packs of cards and wrapping paper for around 50p a roll last year a few weeks after xmas. This year a couple of days after Xmas everything was gone, no sign of Christmas at all! Even the mince pies and puddings were boxed up. I overheard a couple of staff talking about a particular pudding that they hadn't sold a single unit of, there were easily 30 of these puddings being taken off the shelf. Seems alot of waste. I hope these were distributed to other stores to sell cheap rather than going straight to landfill.

I'll stop moaning now!!

I got a lot of Christmas excess stock at the Company Shop, so could be sent there

LemonFrosting · 09/01/2023 16:32

I've not heard of the Company Shop?

user143677433 · 09/01/2023 16:42

They could be donating them to Fairshare.

There is a store local to us that sells items mostly with short BBE dates or past their BBE dates, also over stock items from supermarkets etc and things like misshapen cakes/biscuits.
They always end up with a load of Christmas stock in the spring

Cuwins · 09/01/2023 16:46

Is it also possible that thinks like wrapping paper are put away for next year

puppydisaster · 09/01/2023 16:49

Tesco has 3 packs of giant gift tags reduced to 5p and wrapping paper to 10p. They were putting Easter eggs out on the shelves while I was there so imagine it's the last few days.

My local branch of John Lewis had 1kg bags of single or double flavours of Quality Street for £6. They just had Caramel Swirls and Toffee Bars today, left over from the section where you can fill your own tins. I understand (from Twitter) there were more flavours available yesterday so perhaps they are selling fast. BBE December 2023.

I read on the internet that Welwyn Waitrose has 1.2kg pre-filled tins for £6. If you have a local branch it might be worth checking if they have any left.

Revolution beauty have reduced several beauty advent calendars and lots of other items and the calendars are 3 for 2. Worth a 👀

Yalz · 10/01/2023 02:31

The RNLI has a good variety of things in its sale.

The Royal British Legion shop has a sale, too, with a selection of things with poppies on including dog tags. Free postage over £40.

mumonthehill · 10/01/2023 06:55

For those still having smashed grapes issues they seem to have disappeared from Facebook. I have emailed again......

NoWordForFluffy · 10/01/2023 09:42

I'm waiting for PayPal to decide if I'll get a refund or not from SG. They're a total shambles!

DaffodilsInAJamjar · 10/01/2023 10:00

Lakeland codes if anyone would like them.

Theraffarian · 10/01/2023 11:05

@Pixie2015 thanks for the boohoo heads up , I’ve ordered a new Christmas jumper for husband and some underwear as the code NEXT gives 99p next day delivery for 99p if you spend £10 .
SG I’m glad PayPal refunded me last year when I asked , they are still showing for me on Facebook but not sending orders until 12th Jan from what I can see , no idea about the vouchers that were supposed to be valid from Jan .

VeruccaSalty · 10/01/2023 11:35

My nephew has asked for Ronaldo football kit for his birthday on Sat. I remember kit talk took place in bargain threads but I didnt pay attention then. Can anyone point me in right direction?

Willow4987 · 10/01/2023 12:29

Naked marshmallows on 50% off on their website

their s’mores kit is £12.50 currently. Might make good presents (not sure BBD will make it to Christmas though!)

Have just had a Royal Mail email to say my Vodafone cookie is arriving tomorrow. Happy hump day to me! 😂

Yalz · 10/01/2023 17:31

My local Boots had several different Yankee candle products at 50% off.

There were still many shelves full of sale items. Can anyone predict when the Boots sale stuff is likely to go down to 70% off?

AnotherOne4 · 10/01/2023 18:43

Thanks @Willow4987 I ordered a few bits. Got the vegetarian set for £12.00, as you get the Joe & Stephs sauces with it. Bargain 😁

noscoobydoodle · 10/01/2023 19:05

I ordered kit from footballsbest4u.com/ as recommended on the bargain thread. It did take a couple of weeks to arrive but the quality is really good (compared it to one from the official shop and I can't see any difference) and a fraction of the price. @VeruccaSalty
