i left it to DM to decide as a large turkey is expensive and nobody likes it much anyway - we prefer chicken
so we have chicken
my ds, who is cooking, is disappointed.
this is the first year apart from the 15 vegetarian years when i havent had turkey

what meat are you having?

A side of salmon in a Chipotle and honey glaze 😋

In 32 years of having my own home, I have never had turkey at Christmas. In fact, I have never cooked or eaten the dreaded "roast dinner" - it really isn't compulsory!

bengalcat · 25/12/2022 10:53

Duck - but tomorrow as working today

megletthesecond · 25/12/2022 10:57

Organic chicken.
I'd need to sell a kidney to buy an organic turkey.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 25/12/2022 10:58

Duck and fillet of beef.

Tootlingalong · 25/12/2022 11:02

Fillet Steak, Dolphin nose potatoes (prepped by DMIL yesterday), garlic stuffed cheesy mushrooms, roasted tomatoes and buttered french beans.
Seven of us, DMIL lives with us in a wee adjoining Granny Flat, she’ll do the potatoes in her oven, our oven will do the mushrooms and tomatoes and we’re pan frying the steaks. It’s quite an easy meal to do for 7.

Dolphin nose 😂

Lamb. Love it with mint sauce.

VanGoghsDog · 25/12/2022 11:16

On my own, I'm having chicken. I love roast chicken dinner but never with doing just for me.

Certainly not with buying a turkey for one person. I'm not sure I've had turkey at Christmas since I've been an adult.

BettyOBarley · 25/12/2022 11:17

We were supposed to be having turkey but now we're having nothing as DH and both kids have a sickness bug ☹️

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 25/12/2022 11:18

Gammon this year. Every year varies but never ever have turkey, I hate it. Even as a child it was beef, pork, lamb or chicken, always 2 meats my DF was a butcher so we always got the best 😋

Therealjudgejudy · 25/12/2022 12:25

Roast fillet of beef, but with all the trimmings!

Itisbetter · 25/12/2022 12:29

Duck in the oven and looking distressingly uncooked

gogohmm · 25/12/2022 12:32

2 ibroprofen, 2 paracetamol washed down with bronchostop

annonymousse · 25/12/2022 12:36

Lamb here. Same every year. I put it to the vote and the whole family always choose lamb.

Robin233 · 25/12/2022 16:54

After 28 years of turkey we had beef
