What are yours?

I really don't like the band aid one, I get that it's for charity but it just grates on me and although the message of charity is done with good intentions it just seems a bit white saviour-ish

I don't know that I have a top favourite, I like most of the others I've heard - at the moment it's probably the ed/Elton one.

I'm making a playlist for Christmas day so interested to hear others favourites, I might find some I've forgotten about!

Fav: Carol of the bells (the Home Alone version or the Libera one)

Twinkle Twinkle Little Me by Stevie Wonder (though I think this has mostly been forgotten and thank god!)
Any version of Santa Baby and I saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus

least fave- Mariah Carey, all I want for Christmas 😠

Oh gods I hate "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" I hate it so much.
Absolutely the lyrical equivalent of "I hope you'll be very happy together".....

Worst - Band Aid, Stop the Cavalry -Jona Lewie, Happy Xmas (War Is Over) -The Plastic Ono Band

Least - Fairytale in New York
Most - Stop the Cavalry

Hate: Mistletoe and wine - Cliff Richard
Love: Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses

Faves- Phil Spectors Christmas album, Baby please come home, Whitney do you hear what I hear, Queen Thank god it’s Christmas.

Not so keen on the typical Ones that get played to death far too many to name

I like most Xmas songs - older and newer. Soft spot for mel&kim

Except for mistletoe and wine. Urgh, like being force-fed syrup. Oh, and 'last christmas', if that even counts.

Hate: Any track from Bob Dylan‘s Christmas “effort”.

Hate: John Denver - 'Please Daddy (Don't Get Drunk This Christmas)

I discovered this miserable effort last year. It’s truly horrible!

My favourite is Star of Wonder by Tori Amos.

I also have a soft spot for When a Child Is Born by Johnny Mathis. Terrific melody. All Alone On Christmas (Darlene Love) is great too; and clearly an influence on Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas, which was released a couple of years later.

Can't bear the Live Aid one or Stop the Cavalry.

Hate- loads but simply having a wonderful Christmas time, driving home for Christmas - both so Dreary.

But how have I got to 50 without knowing Thank God It's Christmas was by Queen!!! I also worked in retail so it was on repeat …just another one of those familiar Christmas songs.

Like a caroltoo. Obvs Silent night but God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen works for me.

Stop the cavalry is lovely. Santa baby is horrific.

I love practically all Christmas songs.
