Show me your photos of your Christmas tree and/or decorations please. I'm needing inspiration this year to get going and try different things as I'm such a basic decorations person that i want to make more of an effort this year as everything has been rather glum.

Here’s ours. Replaced some baubles last year but a lot are about 30 years old including Dc’s homemade 😊

No photos as outing, but my theme this year is black, white and amber on a flocked fake tree. All handmade glass baubles, warm white cluster lights. No tinsel!

Spoilsport.. Grin we all want to see it now.. can't you take a pic of one part of it? I'd love to see the colours.

Mine is ridiculous - I really wanted to go over the top this year as I have minimal decs around the house bar some garlands and a couple of bits. It's so, so over the top but I love it.

I love ALL Christmas trees, plain ones, simple ones, ones with multicoloured lights, homemade decs - all of them. They're just happy little things 🎄

@MackenCheese it’s fantastic! Did it take long?

Not too long @Onekidnoclue. It took about 1 and half hours with friends drinking mulled wine and having mince pies. I reckon you could do it quicker if focused! 😂

StepmumQuestions · 15/12/2022 22:39

It's going to look lovely with presents under it!

@SpottyBumPony - without wishing to derail the thread, according to a recent article in The Guardian, for the average 6ft 6 artifical tree, you'd actually need to use it for 10 years for the environmental impact to be lower than that of a real tree... appreciate lots of people do probably use for at least that long!

I’ve just donated mine to the Christmas jumble sale ( too big for downsized house) . We bought it in 1982, and have used every year since then.

@Augend23 thanks, I love the village! There was a good thread on mn recently about them, I hadn't realised they were a thing. My mum gave it to me a few years ago as she has too much Christmassy stuff.

Our weird and wonderful tree. Oz. There are too many odd things to share so here is a select few.

botleybump · 16/12/2022 02:24

Fake tree, gaps filled with baby's breath, warm lights and a few bows. Wooden car baubles are an addition for the DSS.

These all look so lovely! I wish I had a bit more flair for decorating, I just seem to chuck them up and hope for the best!

@Oneofthosewsillydays
happy to oblige, we bought our tree from an online company called Christmas tree world . I think it’s based in Liverpool? Our tree is the mountain pine tree at 7ft tall , but wish I’d bought an 8ft one . It is very wide though 147cm .
Everyone who’s visited us thinks it a real one at first . It does take a while to fluff the branches up after being boxed away all year though!

Oh we got one of those this year. Could be the ultra mountain pine. 7ft. It said it takes 30 mins to fluff the branches, what a lie! I was still cursing over an hour later!
