Show me your photos of your Christmas tree and/or decorations please. I'm needing inspiration this year to get going and try different things as I'm such a basic decorations person that i want to make more of an effort this year as everything has been rather glum.

@SpottyBumPony - without wishing to derail the thread,according to a recent article in The Guardian, for the average 6ft 6 artifical tree, you'd actually need to use it for 10 years for the environmental impact to be lower than that of a real tree... appreciate lots of people do probably use for at least that long!

Our previous one lasted about 25 years.

PledgeDusterMop · 15/12/2022 19:08

@Oneofthosewsillydays
happy to oblige, we bought our tree from an online company called Christmas tree world . I think it’s based in Liverpool? Our tree is the mountain pine tree at 7ft tall , but wish I’d bought an 8ft one . It is very wide though 147cm .
Everyone who’s visited us thinks it a real one at first . It does take a while to fluff the branches up after being boxed away all year though!

My tree and decs are very retro. Or should I say dated 🤣🤣

Didn’t have quite enough warm white lights for ours, but I like it anyway. Nice fresh tree, smells lovely!

@PledgeDusterMop thank you so much, it is the best imitation I've seen; I was shocked when you said it wasn't real! I love how it looks nice and full as well. I will definately be checking one out for next year!

We only got a new tree last year after having our first one since 2009! So two years of being environmentally-neutral 😁 Got a decent one last year so hoping it will definitely last us at least another 12 years!

Real tree always here. Nice shape this year, previous years have been a bit hit and miss. Looking at the photo I can see it’s a bit gappy at the front, I’ll have to move a few ornaments. Ours is very random, lobsters, labradors, planes and flamingos all happily co-existing. I’m loving my new dinosaur tree topper. The twenty year old angel finally got retired!

Other than actual glass baubles I have nearly got to the point now where all my decorations are handmade.

I'm far too much of a cheapskate to actually buy hand made decorations so I made pretty much all of them myself over the last 5 or so years. I'm quite pleased with then, they make nice small, self contained projects to make in front of the TV, and extra make good grandparent gifts as well.

I absolutely love all the tall elegant trees. Ours are always so patchy and gappy. Anyway here is ours. Throwing in a photo of my mantle piece Christmas village for extra measure.

@dontlookgottalook I love your mantelpiece village! I now wish I had a mantelpiece just so I could put a village in it. It's the sort of thing I can imagine my mum would love.
