For me it's always been an angel, it's what I was brought up with. My grandparents have had the same angel since they were married 60 years ago! My mum also had an angel.

Dp thinks it should be a star. I'm not against a star!

but what do you have?

it seems that people have all sorts of things now!

my angel tree topper is broken so need to get something else!

Angel but as a child we had a fairy

Stuffin · 26/11/2022 16:28

A lovely sparkly silver dragon fly on one and a green sparkly butterfly on another.

AhNowTed · 26/11/2022 16:30

A ice lolly stick star one of the kids made over 20 years ago.

Margepettifer · 26/11/2022 16:31

An ancient fairy born circa 1956; given to me by my late mother in law. My parents had the same fairy. From Woolworths, apparently!

Danni675 · 26/11/2022 16:32

This year my little DD has made a toilet roll fairy for the top of the tree. Before we’ve always had a little Santa.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/11/2022 16:32

I made this last year. Might make a tiny Rishi one this year.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Go for it 😅

Grew up with an angel but we have a star on ours because it was what we could find in the pound shop when we decorated our first tree as skint 20-somethings nearly a decade ago! We probably ought to replace it but, yknow - tradition…

sittingonacornflake · 26/11/2022 16:34

I've always had a star but they never bloody sit straight and I'm fed up of my tree looking drunk.

This year I've got a mini Santa hat Christmas tree topper from marks and spender. Hoping that does the trick!

Userno36367363 · 26/11/2022 16:34

Thanks all. Thinking if my grandparents 'angel', it could actually be more of a fairy!

Angel growing up but now we have a star. It’s very glittery and annoys DH every year 😁

Miserablehag · 26/11/2022 16:35

I have stars on my trees but grew with angels. Either works for me - not a fan of the alternatives you can get.

Peridot1 · 26/11/2022 16:37

We had an angel growing up but have had a star since. I bought an angel last week for one tree. The other will have the star still.

MarthaMayWhovier · 26/11/2022 16:39

Squirrel

ShadowNight · 26/11/2022 16:43

A cheerful Santa

TheChosenTwo · 26/11/2022 16:43

A toilet roll angel the dds made when they were 1 and 2, we stuck photos of their faces and they took it in turns to be at the front every year. Ds was added years later when he was born.
It’s atrocious, scrappy bits of paper, barely any glitter, glue stains, squashed… but I can’t ever see a time where I won’t want it on top of my tree.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/11/2022 16:44

I want a beautiful fairy, but they don't exist. I like the idea of a toilet roll one.

TooBigForMyBoots · 26/11/2022 16:46

A dabbing Angel. She's 24 years old this year.

JamSandle · 26/11/2022 16:47

A blonde angel.

LauderSyme · 26/11/2022 16:53

An angel growing up. As a little girl I loved her.

Now a big glittery red star from Wilko's!

@TooBigForMyBoots According to Microsoft Bing's Dictionary....

the action or practice of inhaling small quantities of a concentrated and vaporized drug, typically cannabis oil or resin:

the action of performing a dance move or gesture, originating in hip hop and often done as part of a celebration, in which one arm is bent at an angle across the chest while the other is fully extended parallel to the first arm, with the face turned towards the bent elbow:

Which one is your angel doing?!

hiredandsqueak · 26/11/2022 16:54

Had a star for years that drove me to distraction as it would lean to one side over time so bought a Father Christmas tree topper from John Lewis this year. Dgs will be delighted as he likes all things Santa.

elp30 · 26/11/2022 16:57

For the past 30 Christmases it's been a white dove signifying "peace on earth".

NippyWoowoo · 26/11/2022 17:06

Star

Disscombobulated · 26/11/2022 17:24

Scary Fairy ..,, created many years ago and very much treasured 😂

NoCoatAndFurKnickers · 26/11/2022 18:24

We have an angel, but we had two trees growing up and had one of each (big old house). We also did one terrible looking tree and one fancy one (which my mum and brother did together).

My own house is teeny and we just chose an angel as I liked the look of her and we bought it. I don't feel strongly about it
