That's brilliant about the autographs Always - hope the pain eases soon.

Thankyou hand joint giving me hell today but I’ll live 😊

WreckTangled · 08/12/2022 21:51

The grass was frosty all day here in places. Ds has a horrible cough and sore throat. Almost at the end of term… we break up next Friday. Can’t wait. Fabulous moon tonight.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/12/2022 22:01

DD has that too, Wreck. Her whole class is ropey apparently!

Our hard frost didn't dissipate all day. And our washing was frozen solid on the line. 🤣🤣

The heating struggled today. Quite expensive! 😭😭 But letting the house drop to below 10° would be stupid (which it would've done between cycles), as it just wouldn't warm again properly.

16!!

morning! Fluffy that would have been freezing. Our house dropped to 17° yesterday when we were out all day so that was fine, we have the heating set to 20° in the morning and evening but I think in the evening we can lower it as it gets quite warm with us all in the sitting room.

I’ve put £100 of fuel in my car this week and only have 120 miles left. Thankfully I don’t need to go anywhere for a few days after today (which will be about 50 miles). I’m just in bed having a coffee in my really ugly fleece pyjamas that my aunt bought me one year. I love them 😅

NoWordForFluffy · 09/12/2022 06:29

The benefit of a well-insulated new build, Wreck!

It's meant to be warmer (not warm, but above freezing) today, so that's something.

Morning all.

there was ice on the paths all day yesterday making walking an extreme sport!

Christmas fair went well, I was on tea and coffee duty. Won £10 in the raffle!

NoWordForFluffy · 09/12/2022 17:42

We just took part in the extreme sport of path walking, Dreaming! I collected the kids from school, but DD has a club, so it was dark coming back. The paths were lethal.

Well done on your raffle win!

I've just had to put my big coat on to go to the freezer in the garage. It's Baltic out.

Even my DS put his coat on, he usually strides about in a hoody!

TheWoollybacksWife · 09/12/2022 18:51

He's older than my DS 70. My DS hasn't worn his coat yet 🥶

WreckTangled · 09/12/2022 18:59

Ds wears thermals most of the year round 😅 dd has been wearing a coat. Ds needs calpol and there’s none on the shelf so I’m in a massive queue for the pharmacy so hope they have some.

Yes , my son is 23 now and feeling his age !
He says he's lost his Winter Baby ability to keep warm (he used to walk to school with his jacket wide open and only a thin shirt )

I put brushed cotton Christmas bedding on his bed , he was almost grateful Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 09/12/2022 19:56

Wreck I hope you've managed to get Calpol.

WreckTangled · 09/12/2022 20:48

I queued for twenty minutes! They only
had own brand but luckily ds will still take it even though it’s gross

We have the Calpol tablets as DS won't take liquid medicine. They're a good alternative.

Bloody freezing. Ground is white. It's very wintery! ❄️ 🧊 🥶

WreckTangled · 10/12/2022 07:06

They had two packs of the melts left but I wasn’t sure he would take those.

I haven’t opened the curtains yet. Today we’re supposed to be walking into town to get a Costa and dh birthday card etc but then I made the mistake of saying there’s going to be nutcrackers on stilts and ballet dancers etc there and now ds is refusing to go. Dh is working all weekend too (again) so can’t even go with just dd.

Always4Brenner · 10/12/2022 11:47

Today is my hibernation day so sat in oodie call the midwife on feeling cosy.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 10/12/2022 15:28

It is snowing heavily here. I am on the sofa with a blanket and a cat making Christmas paper chains :)

NoWordForFluffy · 10/12/2022 15:45

No snow here, thankfully. The paths are treacherous though.

I've had my hair cut and now I'm waiting for an eye test. Exciting times! 🤣

CrazyBaubles · 10/12/2022 16:06

No snow here either, although the temp has suddenly dropped so it is 🥶

I've been out for lunch then gave DH a lift to the station and popped to the big Sainsburys before coming home.
Doing a very quick tidy up before doing some Christmas crafting, then I have a friend coming over for some wine.

Tomorrow I'm out for a family Christmas lunch then DH is out with some work people and I'll be doing my traditional wrapping evening - fairy lights and Muppets Christmas Carol on. I can't wait Xmas Smile

I don't want snow but I want a cat that makes paper chains , mine are lazy buggers Xmas Grin

DreamingofItaly2023 · 10/12/2022 17:08

Lol I missed out some punctuation there 😂 sadly my cats are also lazy!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/12/2022 18:44

We're going to set our outdoor fridge up tomorrow! We stick loads of beer etc outside so it's pre-chilled when we bring it in.

I'm officially old, as I now need reading glasses and distance glasses. I could get varifocals, but I don't fancy that. Bearing in mind I WFH, I'll just keep my glasses on my desk and use them when working.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 10/12/2022 18:50

Fluffy outside is fridge temperature atm 😅 I have to wear my glasses almost all the time now I’ve really felt the deterioration in the last few months 👵🏼
