Big Amazon order will arrive over the next few days (except for a game on pre-order) and I know it's not even November yet, but it's always such a relief to get the kids done.

Now I can focus on the food, drink, and other gifts (not that I really buy for anyone else).

Happy as well as I came in under budget by around £90 😁 across the 3 of them.

They'll get money from the inlaws and my parents which they'll spend on lego undoubtedly come January.

Anyone else finished? Hows the budget looking?

I'm done for my eldest DD. I feel like I should get my youngest DD something but tbh it was her birthday 3 weeks ago and she hasn't played with half of the stuff she wanted so I'm loathe to buy more things that are likely to just sit there. I think I'll stay strong unless something amazing leaps out at me. I just need to make the piles of pressies looks evenish as I'll have spent a bit more on the eldest. They will also get money from grandparents to spend in the new year so the definitely don't go short.

mac1974 · 30/10/2022 17:19

I do need to get a couple of things for family members but I'm trying not to buy just for the sake of it.

mam0918 · 30/10/2022 17:22

Im about half way done.

I buy lots though but not expensive items (unless they're a bargain lol) budget is currently sitting at £140 each this year (I aim for £130 in gifts but added their xmas jumpers to the list this year, its not really a 'gift' just something they always need for school so I wacked it on the xmas spreadsheet lol).

rainingcats · 30/10/2022 17:23

I am done apart from some chocolate for stocking which will be bought nearer the time - DS is 5.
I start picking up presents in the summer and have an ongoing stash for stocking fillers where anything I see reduced gets bought and stored away.

gogohmm · 30/10/2022 17:27

Not started yet really except some handmade bracelets, opportunistic purchase, no ideas either. Got a birthday first too

EndlessMagpies · 30/10/2022 17:27

I have no idea what I want, never mind anybody else.

I am 3 quarters of the way there. I have 4 kids, 3 teens and a 5 year old. My budget was €3000 and I think I'm going to go over 😪

To me this is crazy!

You're clearly not upset that you're going over budget. Seems like you just want to gloat actually. It's really rather gauche

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 30/10/2022 17:32

DD13 wants money. She’s already had half a pair of headphones, her Halloween outfit & 2 Heartstopper books as early birthday/Christmas presents. I want to get her some bits to open on the big day but she’s neurodivergent & hates surprises.

MightyOaks · 30/10/2022 17:33

Why is it always a race?!?!?!? 🤣🤣🤣

SilverGlassHare · 30/10/2022 17:37

I’m done for DS except his main present, a Nintendo switch. We don’t have a budget per se but I think I’ve spent less than last year…

luciaann · 30/10/2022 17:39

@grayhairdontcare I did not know you could book Mns already thank you!!!

Jaybird43 · 30/10/2022 17:39

That’s awesome, @MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel! I’ve only got a couple bits left to buy for my two (Roblox vouchers each, basketball hoop and fifa23) and then I’m all done! Well, for the children anyway! You did well to get all 3 done for £90!!

SilverGlassHare · 30/10/2022 17:41

DS has his birthday just before Xmas so I also have all his birthday presents sorted. I get massively stressed if I haven’t done the bulk of it by the first weeks of November.

Jaybird43 · 30/10/2022 17:47

@MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel sorry, ignore the comment about spending under £90 - I misread! Well done though! Im amazed how organised some people are! Mine will sit in a box until Christmas Eve when the hectic “wrap everything before the kids wake up” begins!

leccybill · 30/10/2022 17:49

Bought some trainers and clothes for DD 12. Also Heartstopper books, toiletries bits and a jewellery box.
Bought some perfumes for SILs (I have 5!)
DH wants a golf umbrella, need to get that.
Book for dad and pyjamas for mum. That's me done.
I'll wrap it all on Christmas eve with a glass of wine!

Hugasauras · 30/10/2022 17:51

I got most of DD1's in the Aldi toy sale. Just some little bits and stocking fillers to get. DD2 will only be 6mo so she's just got a token wee thing.

Inasec24 · 30/10/2022 17:54

Kids and DH are done here too! Leaving it for about 3 or 4 weeks now, then will finish off the rest of the present (not much to get) and start on food and other bits!

JosephFrancis · 30/10/2022 17:57

I'm done for Xmas day one of them. Half done for another. Not got anything for the third and still need to do stockings!!

girlmom21 · 30/10/2022 15:58

Ages and purchases please OP Grin

I am stumped for my 1yo

Cut some round holes in a large cardboard box (large enough for your baby to sit in). Put some of those hollow plastic balls inside and then wrap the whole thing up. This was my DC's most popular Christmas gift at that age and it didn't cost us a penny 😂! Kept them busy most of Christmas morning too.

girlmom21 · 30/10/2022 18:28

@Goldbar she'd absolutely love that as well Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2022 18:28

I'm almost done now.

I need to get a Fire tablet for DS (Black Friday / Cyber Monday, I imagine), plus a case for that and the one I got DD a bit earlier in the year. That will be me done then, other than the wrapping!

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 30/10/2022 18:33

Sunshineismyfriend · 30/10/2022 17:18

What did you get them? Mine are the same ages and I’m stumped. Older at is a boy and the others are girls.

They all have lego sets, DD13 has art supplies. So new pens, canvases, she also asked for a book box set.

Son has lego and Switch games. I also got him one of those snuggle cushions (like fuzzy back rests) and he's always sat in his bed watching tv but loves snuggly stuff.

Youngest is mad on foxes so other than lego its fox stuffed toys and a switch game.

Like I say, none of them are after expensive trainers or phones thank goodness

Stockings done, which is good.

I’ve got click n collects to pick up from Argos and The Entertainer tomorrow. So I thought I was done… then I came downstairs yesterday to find my DC writing Santa letters using the Smyths catalogue as a guide 🤦🏼‍♀️ So I’ll be returning some of the stuff I’ve already ordered and buying the different stuff. Quickly realising they’re now too old for me to guess what they’d want and try to influence the letters 😂

PicsForCliques · 30/10/2022 18:43

I’m pretty much done! I sold about £200ish worth of stuff on Vinted and that paid for all of ds’s presents! My mum and DP are done, now I’ve just got to get my dad (haven’t a clue) and my secret Santa! I got away first week of December so wanted everything to be done by then.
