Check your statements if WH Smiths sent anything out before cancelling. I’m due to receive a book today which was £3.26 with the discounts but my credit card statement says £9.98 pending so I assume they have charged me full price plus postage (and I obviously would not have ordered for one book when it is £5 on Amazon…) I’ve emailed customer support to complain and ask them to honour the original price.

I ordered half a dozen of the reduced price Yankee candles from Homebase last night, on click and collect.

I’ve had a message from my local branch this morning to say that they are all out of stock. She said the stock checker can’t keep up with Yankee Candles as “ they walk out of the door.”

I don’t know if she meant that they sell out as fast as they get them in stock, or if people walk out of the door with the candles without paying. Whichever, I hope other people are more successful if they ordered any.

Those who got the degustabox advent calendar last year, was it good? Thinking of buying and giving to foodie friends as an early Christmas present. Groupon have it for £36ish now, anyone seen any better deal?

I've just bought on groupon. There's a code on there that takes it to £29.56 with free delivery. My friend has an early Dec birthday so thought it would be something a bit different for her. Posters on previous threads have said they enjoyed them.

I’d never order online from them again after an incident a couple of years ago where I placed an order but the website had an error message as I confirmed payment. Payment was taken but the order wasn’t registered on their system and CS refused to help me despite me sending a bank statement showing they’d taken the payment (I also had a screenshots of everything including the error message, with time) . After sending the bank statement as they’d requested they literally ignored my emails and kept ‘closing the case’ for weeks, until I finally had enough and emailed the CEO. It got sorted pretty quickly after that - can’t fault the CS from the top - but I had weeks of stress and time spent trying to deal with it beforehand, not to mention being out of pocket for that time.

I'm frustrated with whsmith. My credit card is showing the reduced amounts leaving the account.
I then had an email to say my items were out of stock and would be sent, now just had an email to say its cancelled.
They have no redeeming features at the moment, the website is horrendous to use and it struggled to allow me to pay when submitting the orders.

I just can't understand why a 20% discount is such an issue.
