Ho ho ho and welcome to the bargain Christmas thread - home of the discounts for Christmas shopping.

Title is inspired by the turtle doves/gloves and in my head it's set to the 12 days of Christmas. I'm actually tempted for us to think up a new 12 days of Christmas nearer the time with all of our best bargains Grin

If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

Re Oddies, just putting my tuppence in, but got a proper one (with some form of offer last year, because £90, I don't think so) for teen DS and he loves it...so I looked in the shops the other day at the high street replicas mentioned on here.

They are not comparable. Now, I don't know if that's a good thing, as DS can absolutely roast in his sometimes, and it ends up being washed 4 times a week, so maybe a thinner one he won't cook in would be better. The proper ones are about 4 times the thickness of any of the cheaper high street copies. The high street ones are just fleeces really, some a bit thicker than usual, except oversized. The oodie is like wearing an enormous fleece duvet. I don't think our house gets cold enough for him to wear it more than an hour in the mornings before the heating kicks in properly.

If you are thinking of getting them to wear almost as a dressing gown substitute, the thinner high street ones are they way to go as you could comfortably keep that on all morning/evening. If you are keeping your heating off to lower bills, I think the extra expense of an oodie is definitely worth it.

Jack Wills has an extra 20% off the outlet today. Don't know how long it's for. X

I don’t suppose anyone has a code for The North Face or any ideas on how to get any money off?

Bluegingerbread · 05/10/2022 11:08

Are Papergang slow to despatch? My order status for the trial box is still on Unfulfilled.

Does anyone know of a discount on fitbits? I'm not sure which one we'll get but its for DS so it won't be an all singing and dancing one

Gastheif · 05/10/2022 11:17

Until Friday new users of topcashback get £15 for a supermarket shop and the standard cashback for the shop on £50 spend. This is £8.50 for sainsburys click and collect (think Tesco similar). My husband was new to both so £50 shop for £27.50

Irritatedmum · 05/10/2022 11:22

For fitbits, have you got any Nectar points? There’s a really good offer on there apparently. I think it works out at £15 for a kids Fitbit that way. Don’t quote me on that, it’s what my husband told me!

Keep an eye out on boots and Argos.
I've had 3 Fitbits now. Boots do some good deals and will do extra points on Fitbits sometimes.
Argos can do good deals and for my last one it came with a 3 year warranty. I've had mine replaced twice so far because of the clip breaking and Fitbit has been great.
Also I get extra straps off EBay for mine. Much cheaper and I can usually get them on 3 for 2.
I think Fitbit did some Black Friday deals as well.
Hope it helps. X

There are quite a lot of North Face items on Vinted, and you can select to search for brand new with tags (I sill don't buy unless you can actually see the tags attached in the photos and the seller has good feedback).

Dogmatix34 · 05/10/2022 11:38

Just a reminder about Philip Jones jewellery. I have bought so much from there! First heard about them through a previous thread a couple of years ago. Free delivery and it arrives next day under normal postal conditions. All items come with a little bag and are sterling silver I think. Everything always seems to be on offer! I have these sets in various colours sets

Picklesbaby · 05/10/2022 11:47

@Startuplife depending what your after I tend to buy north face from ASOS as they have lots of codes normally. Have found things I wanted (although sometimes in a different colour) for £30+ cheaper

Northface normally take student discount on their actual website, I'm sure it works on sale items too. If you need a code I can send you one

I believe you can use Tesco clubcard vouchers for Fitbit. Might be worth checking the T&C's and seeing if you can combine with a black Friday deal.

whereareyousleep · 05/10/2022 12:27

Can anybody remember when smyths did there offers last year? or if they will be doing the £10 off £50 etc. I know they did offers last year but can't remember what or when!

IamChipmunk · 05/10/2022 13:01

@whereareyousleep there were no Symths offers last year. We had a thread running looking out for them!
They have some stuff with offers on at the mo.
Worth keeping an eye out in case they do anything decent this year.
