Ho ho ho and welcome to the bargain Christmas thread - home of the discounts for Christmas shopping.

Title is inspired by the turtle doves/gloves and in my head it's set to the 12 days of Christmas. I'm actually tempted for us to think up a new 12 days of Christmas nearer the time with all of our best bargains Grin

If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

Has anyone who's signed up for getting the Smyths Christmas catalogue in the post had there's yet?

I had one a few weeks ago.

IDontDrinkTea · 03/10/2022 15:23

Smyths catalogue arrived here at the beginning of September - it has been combed through several times by DD 😂

Changingagain · 03/10/2022 15:28

Oh no hopefully ours is just late, the kids - -not me obviously-- love going through it. It would be an approximately 18 hour round trip to pick one up in store though, so I don't think we'll bother 😂

Having resisted Oodies for the last few years, I'm tempted this year to save our heating bills. Looking at the Dunelm ones - does anyone know what sort of ages the kids versions are for? Does anywhere do a toddler-type equivalent? And are the adult ones suitable for a... Er... Larger lady?

The dunhelm ones are lovely!

For your toddler could you just buy a larger child's one or XS ladies? When my girls were little they loved wearing my jumpers to keep cosy. (They are now 14 and 10 so before oodies were a thing!) Or ponchos, they loved a poncho, in fact both still have them!I bought them from monsoon or next I think. You can get fleecey material or knitted ones 😊

HollyJollyXmas57 · 03/10/2022 15:41

If anyone sees any decent offers/price on Joma Jewellery bracelets please let me know.

They are roughly £17 on Amazon at the moment.

jocktamsonsbairn · 03/10/2022 15:52

I have a spare student beans discount code for Dunelm - thanks to the pp who posted one last night but I got to it too late! However my DC are students so both gave me one. Didn't use this one - 10% off

@BeGoneDom @Evza

B&M have posted on their faceboom about fleece hoodies today. They have a 3-4 one looking at the pictures

Babynumberthreeee · 03/10/2022 17:26

On the hoodie note. Last year I bought them from everywhere (minus oodie ironically!) And here were my findings

Online home store- massive and super warm. I was sweating in mine camping this year. Only thing is sleeves are super long and annoying but I roll mine up

Dunelm- some were thicker than others, was disappointed in the one I got for my sister as it wasn't lined. Just 1 layer of fleece

Newlook- varied on design. Some were double layered and thick some were just a single fleece layer like the dunelm ones

Primark- thick fluffy and patterned. Came into stores around October. Various children sizes from 3+ as well.

fondly remembers lying in a pile of hoodies whilst dh looked at me like I had lost my mind

I haven’t had a Smyths catalogue for a few years despite being on the mailing list and adding my address again (and again). They just stopped suddenly. I contacted them last year but they couldn’t help as they said it’s automatic. I don’t live near one so can’t pick one up but I order online with them so it’s a shame they don’t have an option to send them out with orders.

Someaddedsugar · 03/10/2022 17:40

@Changingagain I'll be passing Smyths tomorrow and can pick one up and post on?

NickMyLipple · 03/10/2022 17:44

@BeGoneDom and @Evza I got my 4 year old this Sainsbury's version. She's tall and I bought age 9-10 as I figured it wouldn't really matter. She's mostly in 6-7/7-8 clothes so the 7-8 may have not lasted as long. They definitely had smaller sizes too.

I’ve just picked up my dunelm hoodie and I’m currently sat in it! It is one layer of fleece (not sure if the more expensive one is different but So far I’m lovely and warm in it, I got 10% off through my old student account so paid about £16 for it so we’ll worth it I think

CatOfTheLand · 03/10/2022 18:18

I want to take the kids to the Jurassic Park exhibit at the excel for a Christmas/birthday gift (BOTH have basically Christmas Day birthdays) but it's so expensive! Has anyone seen any good deals or discounts please?

1stTimeMama · 03/10/2022 18:47

Might anyone have a Dunelm discount code at all please? I have a Blue Light card, but they don't take it.

pimlicoanna · 03/10/2022 18:50

@Wonderfulstuff they are 2 for £8 in The Works at the moment

ljbmum76 · 03/10/2022 18:59

I got one of these last year. Might have been free but paid delivery but they are a nice change to a wall calendar. If i remember rightly they came boxed as well

@BeGoneDom and @Evza

I haven't read to the end of the thread

But next have fleece ponchos starting age 3, might work if you have a tallish toddler

www.next.co.uk/search?w=children%27s%20fleece%20poncho

For that age something like a fleecy all in one might be better. We've had lovely ones from the John Lewis and m+s sales.

Does anyone know what the equivalent of the next age 14-16 ponchos is in adult size? Wondering if they'll fit an adult 10. Thank you!

H&M members get 55% off photobox products - I'm not sure which ones but it does say if you're not a member you
Still can join and get the benefit.
