Ho ho ho and welcome to the bargain Christmas thread - home of the discounts for Christmas shopping.

Title is inspired by the turtle doves/gloves and in my head it's set to the 12 days of Christmas. I'm actually tempted for us to think up a new 12 days of Christmas nearer the time with all of our best bargains Grin

If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

The cult beauty box. I can't link as I can't find it but it maybe because it's limited to one box per person.

FluffyFluffMonster · 30/09/2022 12:47

It's this!

It looks as if the £30 Cult beauty box is sold out at the moment but the £37 one is still available.

TwinsAndTiramisu · 30/09/2022 14:48

Just been to Home Bargains and they have large metallic foil balloons in the shape of Merry Christmas text, for £2.99. You blow them up then hang them like a banner, don't need helium. Have them in gold and silver. Bought a multicoloured "Happy Birthday" from Paperchase once, for over £10 I think, so these are good value.

Also the party horns you blow and the paper rolls out (no idea what the proper name is) 6 in a pack, 3 penguin, 3 Father Christmas, for 99p, which will be perfect alongside a cracker to keep fidgety toddler DC amused at the table if plating up is taking a while. Would potentially fit in a fill your own cracker too.

Same. I ordered 7 of the hat/scarf combos, so all the children in the family could have one. All refunded 😭

Haudyourwheesht · 30/09/2022 15:08

I think sometimes that's the way when things are posted on here. Places that are quite small are inundated with orders that they then can't fulfil.

newmumtotwo24 · 30/09/2022 15:21

Omg I have missed so so much (the entirety of the last thread) but I'm back with what (I think) is the first thread baby. Had my baby girl two weeks ago and it's been a busy time 😂 Luckily thanks to the first threads I am 70% done with shopping as life is hectic now! Main thing left to buy is a wooden kitchen for my toddler, does anyone have one and where from? I've heard Aldi and IKEA do good ones can anyone confirm?

Nearer Xmas, Aldi start having brilliant wooden toys. The kitchen and lots of kitchen appliances are so cute. Beautifully made.
I do remember seeing Lakeside IKEA had a kitchen on display this week but didn't really take notice.

That tk maxx one looks great!

We found the best bargains are secondhand for this @newmumtotwo24

We got the ikea one, including loads of accessories, pots, pans, utensils etc for £25 on eBay. Similar bargains on FB. The ikea one and its matching utensils is lovely, my child adores it.

buckeejit · 30/09/2022 15:57

@newmumtotwo24 congratulations!

Honestly for many reasons, (cost, effort of assembly time, environmental impact), I'd have a look on gumtree/Facebook marketplace or eBay for a wee kitchen - the ikea ones are great, you'll save plenty from secondhand & dc won't care

ChristmasSirens · 30/09/2022 15:59

@buckeejit - I hadn’t even clocked the assembly - yes ours came all pre-assembled, but it was in great condition!

paintyhands · 30/09/2022 16:02

Not a bargain, but a question for all you seasoned bargain hunters / present squirrellers! How do you organise and store your present stash? I currently have various things in boxes at the top part of my wardrobe - I want to go through everything, decide who is getting what (some are random, some are allocated, some are little spares for anyone I might want to give a token gift to). Some might say a spreadsheet but I’m more visual than that and I’d like to physically sort and label them in some way. Any genius tips welcome! Oh and I’ll probably do a spreadsheet or list of some kind too. Thank you!

MerylSqueak · 30/09/2022 16:04

Congratulations @newmumtotwo24 . Welcome to the world threadbaby.

I do agree with that. Although the stuff I've had refunded is still available to buy on their website!

Haudyourwheesht · 30/09/2022 16:08

Big Sale on Little People Store. Tons of highly reduced bits and pieces. Might be good for stockings.

It might be worth having a look for Aldi wooden toys soon. I'm sure I noticed a date quite recently.

Blixem · 30/09/2022 16:19

@newmumtotwo24 I got 2YO DD a kitchen from Asda for last Christmas. Its compact and she loves playing with it.

Beachhutnut · 30/09/2022 16:32

I photo everything and have a file in my photos for it. Otherwise I forget what I’ve got.

All mine get wrapped straight away. I use tags tied on with ribbon. Each present gets two tags on the same string, one proper normal tag (that can get written last minute, and one stating the contents which gets snipped off when I'm done. I do the same with birthday presents.

GingerbreadPanda · 30/09/2022 16:51

If I'm super organised the ribbon is colour coordinated so red needs posted, gold under the tree, etc.

yoshiblue · 30/09/2022 16:58

Clearance section on Hawthorn Handmade has lovely reduced embroidery and felting kits, over 50% off.

Great for family members who are crafters, or for you to do yourself and give as a gift completed.

@GingerbreadPanda my word you're an organisational genius

paintyhands · 30/09/2022 17:07

@GingerbreadPanda now that’s the kind of tip I was after! You are indeed an organisational genius - not only that but saving on mass present wrapping in December! Thank you.
