It's early September and we're already on thread 3 - wonder how many threads we'll get to this year! Any bets? Mine is 29!

If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

I’ve heard nothing about my thrift order since I placed my order. I might contact then to check whether it’s actually coming if I don’t hear anything in the next few days.

I received my first one today. Must be nearly 2 weeks since I placed the order.

Reastie · 07/09/2022 18:01

I just wanted to give a big up to the toys for a pound website. I bought a box of bits for stocking gifts and one of the wind up items didn't work. I emailed them and they replied almost straight away and are sending me another one - fantastic customer service!

I also have alot of love for toysforapound. Their app is great and the service is fast and professional. I've had some mega bargains from there ☺️

dizzygirl1 · 07/09/2022 18:24

Another one still waiting for thrift, no emails at all.
Also waiting for my eBay turtle doves.... they were dispatched on Friday.... no news and royal mail strikes the next 2 days.

TheCrow · 07/09/2022 18:39

I'm back for my third year on the threads, I see I've already missed a lot! Gutted about missing out on the mega thrift sale.

My first contribution is that our Poundstretcher has 25% off absolutely everything in store until 18th September. Not sure if it's only our branch or not as they recently said they were closing down but they had some bargainous stuff even before the discount- fluffy Christmas socks for 99p, hand-wash in Christmas containers like snowman, santa, penguin etc reduced to £1.30, these packs of 3 both bombs for 50p

I feel a bit bad for thrift. They obviously had a flurry of orders and are probably not set up for it. I think it's probably a small team not used to so many sales at once.

My local dunelm had a good choice of fleece hoodies today

These look fab! Thanks

Brogues · 07/09/2022 18:58

This has been on my wishlist for ages but now reduced to £8.99 (not dispatched by Amazon) Persiana: Recipes from the Middle East & Beyond: The 1st book from the bestselling author of Sirocco, Feasts, Bazaar and Simply amzn.eu/iXIjMDE

FilthyforFirth · 07/09/2022 19:17

Where are people finding the M&S discounts?! I'm in my local food hall and I can't see anything reduced... booo! They are putting out Christmas stuff though, more than Halloween here!

Yalz · 07/09/2022 19:20

@FilthyforFirth sorry about that. What's in stock seems to vary a lot from branch to branch. Perhaps many MNetters have already visited yours.

FilthyforFirth · 07/09/2022 19:26

Yeah I've probably been too slow off the mark!

WhyDoesItAlways · 07/09/2022 19:41

The new spicery kit chefs specials is 50% off if you pre order (delivery mid November) and other kits about a third off.

The advent calendar is a third off too.

I got the taco legends kit last year and love it so eyeing up the curry ones this year.

Amazon have some discounts on some of of the Galt science kits, I've just bought the magnetic science kit one.

I've also just ordered both dds a Hama bead Christmas tree set for just under £7 each as their table presents (hoping it will keep them busy at the table)

FairytaleofNewHampshire · 07/09/2022 20:16

@Yalz Glad it helped somebody 😀
Sounds like your branch had more reduced stock than mine. I managed to get quite a few things but I'm going to try another store tomorrow and hopefully I can get some more bargains.

Soscrewed · 07/09/2022 20:28

My local pretty small sainsbury's had loads of random reductions today. Stationary and back to school stuff (in Scotland so been back a while) and loads of random bits on the back wall like drumstick shower gel for 49p and various cleaning products, chocolates, some free from biscuits down to 15p and vanilla pos down to 99p still in the baking aisle. Not worth a special trip but definitely worth a wee wander.

Squ1ggle · 07/09/2022 20:32

Has anyone spied any bargains on black Cross body bags? My sister has asked for one for everyday use and I'd love to get her a nice leather one but budget isn't much. She's late 30s and likes is definitely more fashion conscious than I am

JubileeTissues · 07/09/2022 20:37

@Squ1ggle wait for the Fossil sale. We got some bargains last year

imnottoofussed · 06/09/2022 22:23

Sainsburys has hotel chocolate liqueur set for £5 down from £10 in store. It is the one with salted caramel, chocolate and mint chocolate 50ml bottles in. Good for a little adult gift or secret Santa

Lovely! Thank you. Might be part of my own Christmas present! 😆

Squ1ggle · 07/09/2022 20:41

Sorry I should have said this is for her birthday. Fossil is my go to usually but bit above budget atm

ThreeB · 07/09/2022 20:42

Oh @Brogues Persiana is fab! Keep an eye out for Falastin on offer - if you like Persiana you will adore this

Disneyland2022 · 07/09/2022 20:45

Probably £30-£40 max. Unfortunately she hasn't given me any guidance on size or anything
