Ds (7)
A Lego set (currently thinking Harry Potter themed)
A funko dalek
Playmobil Asterix set and an Asterix omnibus
A daschund soft toy
Box of books (mix of fiction and non fiction)
A schleich dinosaur and a schleich animal
A jigsaw, will probably look for HP or Asterix
Rupert Bear annual

Dd (4)
A duplo set (minnie mouse themed)
A funko princess
Playmobil snow Palace and a copy of the snow queen
A doll of some sort
Box of books
Schleich bayala unicorns (the little themed ones as she collects)
A jigsaw, will probably be djeco and fairytale themed

They will share a board game but they'll get that on Christmas Eve.

Stockings will have yoto cards, keyring, sweets, a fizzy drink can, a chocolate orange, craft kit of some sort (probably Baker Ross) and small playmobil/lego sets. Ds goes to beavers and has asked for a sewing kit so will add one to his. Semi-tempted to get dd one as well as she's starting Rainbows. Also going to get them decent torches each for camping.

Favouritefruits · 22/08/2022 19:04

@CaveMum Gravitax will be fine for a five year old, my four year old has been playing with it for at least a year. He doesn’t follow to correct instructions but likes to make his own courses.

whoruntheworldgirls · 22/08/2022 19:08

Following as need a lot of ideas for my 6yr old.
It was her birthday a couple of weeks ago so she got a lot then and I'm out of ideas now.

CaveMum · 22/08/2022 20:27

Thanks @Favouritefruits, I will put it on the long list!

EcoCustard · 22/08/2022 20:39

Ds turns 8 just before Christmas:
switch lite
small Lego set
baking stuff
stocking with stationary, cubs bits, sweets, hot wheels car, farm magazine

Dd turns 7 just before Christmas too:
wants playmobil house
lego
gymnastics bar
books
stocking with stationary, hair clips, and anything with cats on it.

Dd5:
gymnastics beam
lego set
playmobil zoo bits
jigsaw
stocking with stationary, sweets, yo-yo, book

ds3:
playmobil fire station
fire truck
stocking with colouring book, pens, sweets, hot wheels car, crocodile of some description

will add to that but cutting down on plastic tat that goes straight to landfill every year, the party bag stuff. Have two birthdays not long before and kids aren’t sure what they would like yet.

Adelais · 22/08/2022 20:43

Grumpybutfunny · 22/08/2022 21:34

Normally DS9 has a list but really struggling this year we already have a DS, XBOX, IPAD, hoverboard etc (only child, only grandchild, only great grandchild). It's his birthday a month before Christmas so also need to think of ideas for that.

So far I think for main presents we are going for

battleship copy Lego boat thing from smyths
The Lego coding set (not sure which one)
Guitar hero (need to check DHs old 360 still works) on a side note can anyone believe they stopped making guitar hero!
Mario cart racing wheel

Tempted to redecorate the play room into a gaming room and call some of the accessories his Xmas present then get the grandparents to add to his savings account!

BakewellGin1 · 22/08/2022 21:39

DS age 3
Playmobil Country Farm and Tractor
Toolbench and Tools such as battery powered drill etc
Magnatiles
Disney Lego Sets x 2

DS14
A variety of new clothes, trainers, coat
Football boots and a Football Shirt
New Mobile Phone

Above are big presents then they will get stocking, pyjamas, dressing gown, book and Slippers plus a gift voucher for an activity each

EcoCustard · 22/08/2022 22:20

@BakewellGin1 Dc1 got the playmobil farm and tractor for his 3rd birthday e turns 8 this year and still plays with it. Added to it every year. By far one of the best presents purchased, dc4 cannot wait to get his hands on it 😁

BakewellGin1 · 22/08/2022 22:33

@EcoCustard thats great to hear.

He loves animals and figures so seems ideal despite the cost. However I found one brand new sealed box for £60 which is much better then the fortune its selling for elsewhere.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 22/08/2022 23:30

NoodleDoodleDo · 22/08/2022 18:33

The only thing my DS9 has asked for is a cuddly toy that looks like our DDog who we had to have PTS a few weeks ago. He wants Santa to make it as he makes them extra special 😭

I dont know if its allowed but I highly recommend squiggle and bean. She is on facebook and I think has a website too. She has made me several custom crochet toys and they are perfect and very reasonable for the work that goes into them!

BornBlonde · 22/08/2022 23:41

Need ideas for 3 & 6 year old who both have birthdays close to Christmas!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 22/08/2022 23:47

We are cutting back this year, im planning on less stuff and giving them home made vouchers for planned days out in the year (they love going to new places!)

Dd1 14 at Christmas!
A few funko soda figures she has asked for.
Percy pig bedding.
Dungeons and dragons starter set.
Nightmare before christmas loungefly bag (heavily reduced in Jan sales).
A soft toy (either hello kitty pusheen, espeon build a bear or a squishmallow)
Dustin from stranger things hat and plush toy!

Dd2 10 at Christmas!
A make up case with some eyeshadow/nail varnishes and facemasks (superdrug sale)
A couple of big potato games.
Rainbow high doll.
The worm from the labyrinth and a David Bowie tshirt (he's her favourite singer!)
Soft Toy - probably another llama or squishmallow!
A few dinosaur figures.

Then they have a sack from Santa which is stocking fillers, a new fleece blanket each, small game, chocolates/sweets, pin badges, rolled up poster, box of pop tarts and always a cuddly toy poking out of the top! Plus the 1 thing they ask for from him (dd2 still firmly believes!) Dd1 the last few years has asked for bread and been very pleased when Santa delivers and dd2 was very excited to see super colossal blue last year (she still sometimes goes to bed with her or will be positioned to guard her door!)

I still try and get most things second hand or on offer, I very rarely pay full price for anything!!

TheSunnySide · 23/08/2022 00:33

Y son will be 12 by Christmas. He wants an electric drum kit.

Scanner20 · 23/08/2022 18:47

DD6 is asking for rainbow high dolls, anything on that theme. Also mentioned a kiddizoom camera and a squishy toy.
DS4 is asking for Lightyear theme toys, also likes sonic. Will build on that and then traditional stocking, pencils, sweets, socks, slippers, yo-yo etc.

Greentomatoes21 · 23/08/2022 19:00

My DD6, very nearly 7.
Dolls pram (correct height for her age)
Harry Potter lego
Small stocking surprises - hair clips, chocolate, cute purse, coloured pencils, new pencil case, pyjamas, pants.

Her birthday is 3 days after Christmas so for that:
Hermione costume and wand
Polly Pocket funfair carry case

DS2
Toot toot driver cars
Duplo fire station
Wooden inset jigsaws
Stocking - crayons and paper, paint sticks, chocolate, new water bottle, duplo people

UpsideDownDownsideUp · 23/08/2022 20:00

10 yr old.
Tablet
Bike
Clothes
Locket

Stocking harry potter themed mainly

16 yr old
Ps5 although keeps changing mind
Jordans
Prob clothes

Stocking American sweets etc, normally find a funky gadget of some kind, travel coffee mug,

4yr old
Barbie dream house or whatever its called
Lady bug doll and whatever others are in collection

Stocking, bath bombs, crafts

Nearly 3yr old

Goal post
Hot wheels
Balance bike

Stocking. Books, cars, etc

Then I'm stumped!

Rupertgrintismyguiltypleasure · 23/08/2022 23:11

Ds14 (who has pretty much everything) has today just told me he wants a DJ setup and an Apple Watch....
he has the disco light, smoke machine and bubble machine already so will have to look into the rest.

dd9 - wants Lego, so whichever of the new sets she doesn’t get for her birthday in September I will buy.
ty beanies ( she’s an avid collector)
arts and crafts
probably a new scooter as I’m not sure how much longer her current one will last.

Mummyme87 · 24/08/2022 06:20

Literally no idea! I have a DS4 (will be 5 3 weeks after Christmas) and DS8

trampoline123 · 28/08/2022 08:45

CaveMum · 22/08/2022 18:26

Watching with interest. My two (DD8 & DS5) either point at everything and say they want it or shrug their shoulders when asked - not helpful!

DD loves Harry Potter & Pokémon so we’ll stick with those themes. She has most of the HP Lego sets already and we will be getting her an illustrated Goblet of Fire as we got her the previous 3 illustrated versions over the last few years which she loves.

DS loves Star Wars and dinosaurs so again that will be our main focus. He loves to build things so I did wonder about GraviTrax but see that it is aimed at 8+. Does anyone else have it and do you think an almost 6yo would be able to cope or is it too fiddly?

Aldi have Harry Potter bits in.

HedgerowRobin · 28/08/2022 09:04

DS will be 14 months and so far he has a little gardening set and peep in the garden book, a tool kit (Green Toys) and a wooden wheelbarrow with veg. I’ve also got a couple of sets of books and his main presents will be a large duplo set and a helper tower.

For his stocking so far I’ve got some schleich animals, wooden spinning top, twisty caterpillar, knitted rabbit, a little car and a wooden trumpet. I’ll be adding a new toothbrush and probably a couple of treats.

He has a late October birthday and will be getting an activity table, bath toy set, duplo animals of the world set, some soft play foams and a ball pit.

trampoline123 · 28/08/2022 09:47

I haven't bought anything yet but I've started a list which once finished I'll send to family too. Getting lots of great ideas off of this post:

DS1 (2)
Balance bike
Smiggle water bottle
Wooden train set
Picture cards to help him with his words
Personalised name sign for bedroom door (for when he gets his own room)

DS2 (1)
Personalised name sign for his room when he gets his one
Xylophone
Seesaw
Wooden jigsaw puzzle
Play mobile set of something
Blank canvases so we can do art together and out up on the wall

trampoline123 · 28/08/2022 09:51

Another thing I like to do is buy memories rather than loads of toys. We can't afford a lot of fun days out so we will probably ask for vouchers to our local petting farm/fun park and peppa pig world or something.

SkankingWombat · 28/08/2022 09:56

8yo:
Harry Potter Lego set
HP themed other little bits
(More) Asterix comics
Some science books
Fimo
Finis alignment kickboard
I'm also going to go off now to look up Asterix Playmobil, having seen a PP mention it - she'd love that!

6yo:
Books/comics
Barbie accessories
Pokemon figures
Fimo
There will be other things, but I'm a bit stuck for ideas.
