I remember seeing another thread a few years ago about this and some of the answers were so lovely and innocent.
2 year old DD has just asked for a Mermaid (luckily I know she means a soft toy she's seen and not a real one), a plum and a lemon for Christmas.
Apparently the lemon needs to be spicy!

What does everyone else's little ones want for Christmas?

When DS1 was 7, He asked Santa for a toy dog house.
I asked did he mean a doll house?
Nope, dog house.
Like a kennel?
Nope, a house that toy dogs live in.

I solved it by getting a Sylvanian families log cabin second hand and buying a selection of little plastic dogs and accessories from Amazon!

He was delighted, Bless him.

Not my own DC but me

My mum took me to see one of those shopping centre Santas when I was about three so I sat on his knee like you do and he asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him I'd forgotten my catalogue Grin

An air guitar. Can’t remember how old she was.

awwbiscuits · 18/08/2022 12:17

Last year dd asked for a 'hundrd unucns' (100 unicorns)

I got her a roll of 100 unicorn stickers and wrote 'sorry dds name but I can't fit that many unicorns on my sleigh but here are 100 unicorn stickers!'

Burgerqueenbee · 18/08/2022 12:32

I remembered reading that thread, really cheered me up! My dd won't be at the stage for odd requests this year but I can't wait for the challenge ahead Grin

MarthaMayWhovier · 18/08/2022 14:09

DS wants toast for Christmas this year. That's all he wants.
Subject of Christmas came up because he said he saw Santa in the park. It was just a man with white hair pushing his granddaughter (?) on the swings.

My 2 year old asked for some tuna last year....he was delighted with the tin in his stocking 😂

mam0918 · 18/08/2022 14:28

Mine never ask for anything, we dont do list but I know what they want by watching the toys they always gravatate towards when going past toys shops or buying for friends birthday.

When they see Santa and he asks you can tell they are on the spot and always throw out the most random spur of the moment thing... of the top of my head I cant really remember any except my now teen who paniced and said 'bike' dispite the fact he had FOUR already (1 from each set of grandparents, 1 from us and 1 hand me down), doesn't actually like bikes and refused to learn to ride lol.

MammaWeasel · 18/08/2022 16:28

When ds was about 3 he asked for "a ball of strong string"

Blixem · 18/08/2022 16:58

@MarthaMayWhovier DD saw a man with a big white beard on a motorbike and and asked if that was Santa. That's how the subject came up for us too.

A blank CD
A stone mill for hand grinding flour (he didn't get one - they're actually really expensive)

ZombeaArthur · 19/08/2022 15:08

Last year my youngest DD asked for a yo-yo for her favourite toy elephant. MIL sewed a special personalised stocking and he got his yo-yo on Christmas morning. I found DD this week helping him play with it so I guess she knew what she was talking about 😂

ToTryToDelight · 19/08/2022 15:13

My DSS once asked for a tin of biscuits.
I miss the days when my DS used to only every ask for a ball. Now what the ask for costs ££££

ihatebojo · 19/08/2022 15:22

One of my DC asked for an iPad. Was told no, so their second choice was a kinder egg.

Done.

Gingerkittykat · 19/08/2022 15:35

My DD asked the shopping centre Santa for her own roll of sellotape one year.

He obliged and she was over the moon.

Twizbe · 19/08/2022 15:39

A toy Croydon tram was on last year's list....

doggyg · 19/08/2022 16:28

My DD (7) has asked for a bidet! She likes using them when we go on holiday but we had to tell her Santa doesn't have time to do plumbing...

MrsPerfect12 · 19/08/2022 16:33

My son so far has asked for a mini chip basket and a fan that moves 😂😂😂

princessbear80 · 19/08/2022 16:41

My favourite was when my DS asked for “see through powers”… he meant x-ray vision 😀

SweatyChamoisPad · 19/08/2022 16:48

This isn’t an example as I don’t have kids but it’s something about seeing Father Christmas in the wild.

The central Manchester ambulance station is right next door to the blood donor centre at Plymouth Grove. I saw a paramedic the December before Covid and he had real Santa hair and a Santa beard. I had to go up and take a picture of him. He explained that he grows a beard every winter, and they put him on the specialist paediatric ambulance and wears a Santa hat, so the kids don’t get scared. He made me smile all day.

germsandcoffee · 19/08/2022 17:02

My sons severely autistic so he's asked for so really strange things over the years 🤣
A real donkey for the garden
A brother
A
Talking cat (real not teddy)
An antique lamp
To ride a space rocket
A
Cheese sandwich 🤣

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 19/08/2022 17:04

Mama’s breast milk back

BasiliskStare · 19/08/2022 17:11

When I was young ( and this is 50 odd years ago ) my mum had bought all presents. On Christmas Eve she said do you think Father Christmas has brought you nice presents. Apparently I said - as long as he has brought me a snake. They went round every shop an eventually found a little plastic one you could hold the tail of & it cost a couple of shillings in a newsagents ( yes that old) I was apparently delighted.

annoyedneighbour1 · 19/08/2022 17:20

'2 babies stuck together'

Had no idea what she meant until I realised... she wanted a conjoined twins doll. Ffs!

I found a fabric doll of 2 twins holding hands and that seemed to please her very much. The little psycho!

Blixem · 19/08/2022 17:57

Ha ha. These are brilliant. I've been looking forward to DD being old enough to tell me what she's wants Santa to bring ever dice I read the last thread.
