Funny things your kids have asked Father Christmas for

I remember seeing another thread a few years ago about this and some of the answers were so lovely and innocent.
2 year old DD has just asked for a Mermaid (luckily I know she means a soft toy she's seen and not a real one), a plum and a lemon for Christmas.
Apparently the lemon needs to be spicy!

What does everyone else's little ones want for Christmas?

@quickbathroombreak there's also these but they're more part girl than baby www.amazon.com/Enchantimals-Felicity-Figure-6-inch-removable/dp/B079LZX4R6

DD once asked for sticky tape, I think she was 6 or 7. I got a shoebox size gift box and filled it with little sparkly tapes and a dispenser, sellotape and dispenser, washi tape, different colour and width masking tape. It was her favourite present.

quickbathroombreak · 20/08/2022 09:51

@Stupidlydupidly thanks - also good options Smile

Ihatemyroad · 21/08/2022 07:22

Blue tak and sellotape!

OnNaturesCourse · 22/08/2022 14:10

A caravan 😂

When my brother was about 3/4 he asked for a back scratcher!

😂 I gave my partner one as a joke stocking filler about 10 years ago. One of the most successful presents ever- still being used regularly.

When ds2 was about 2 he asked Santa for a ladder Confused

I got him a small wooden one that goes in a birdcage and he carried it with him for about 18 months!

When DS was 3 he asked for chocolate cake on Christmas Eve. All I could get was chocolate muffins at that point. Not only did he seem completely none plussed about the effort, he didn't even eat any!
I was recently watching a video of Christmas when he was 5 and he's opening some presents, one of which was a lego train and he happily shouted "this is the one I ordered from Santa". Followed by a DVD ", I didn't order this DVD mummy" 😂
We've also had blue tac and white tac requested.
He's 14 now and this year it's a smart watch or a new guitar he's seen at nearly £1000 😱.

I always get random requests but not too weird thankfully but usually involving one odd but easy and one that needs some creative thinking.

Last year it was a wardrobe for her Lottie dolls (old wardrobe jewellery box and hangers made from paperclips) and highlighter pens. Year before a packet of bourbons and a collie dog like ours for her dolls house, which was difficult as our dog has rare colouring - i ended up painting the colours on.

A box of baklava. She was very specific, too. They had to be pistachio and not walnut. She was about 8 at the time, and they were the best present ever from Father Christmas.

CraftyClara · 23/08/2022 08:20

She also asked for a tin of Heinz beans with sausages. We were living overseas at the time. Fortunately DPIL brought out a tin in their Christmas stash.

Craftybodger · 23/08/2022 08:33

“What are you going to ask Father Christmas for this year?”
”Oh, I don’t need to ask him for anything, he knows me so well!”

DD, aged about 5!

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 23/08/2022 08:40

Garden sprinkler for DD when she was 4 and we had no grass! The previous year she wanted a yoyo. It's all about iPads and phones now!

RhubarbAndMustard · 23/08/2022 08:44

DS age 5 asked for a 'Fun boy' last year. He just wanted someone to play with as his older brother kept saying no.

Better than the year before when all he wanted was a Ring doorbell.

timeforthebeach · 23/08/2022 08:57

My dd once asked for a flying rainbow pig. I actually found a keyring of a rainbow coloured pig with wings.

Knittingnanny2 · 23/08/2022 11:53

I’ve remembered another! My eldest son ( 40) learned to read with Roger Red Hat- that Christmas he asked for Rip the dog. I made one out of pipe cleaners and wound brown wool round it, 1980’s style

iklboo · 23/08/2022 14:17

'Just anything really, I don't mind' DS when he was about five.

RelativePitch · 23/08/2022 15:00

When DS2 was 6, he asked for an electric balloon pump. Spent all of Christmas day blowing up balloons. Easily pleased.

Shootingstar2018 · 25/08/2022 22:16

Last year my nearly 3 year old wanted "all the presents" this year he still wants "all the presents"...very helpful lol

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 25/08/2022 22:17

When dd was small she wanted a baby that cries, a baby that wees, a pram and a chocolate rabbit

took me a while to convince her that a chocolate reindeer would be better 😀

noodles44 · 25/08/2022 22:19

My youngest asked for a squirty flower like a clown wears one year (the only thing that was requested too!!)
