I woke up at 4:30 😴 very annoying. We’ve had some rain, looks like it’ll be on and off today.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 07/09/2022 08:03

Morning all, hugs to the early wakers! Just as I was drifting off last night the fire alarm battery started beeping and DH was away so I was stumbling around in the dark with a head torch and a chair sorting it out.

NerosFiddle · 07/09/2022 08:18

Morning. Also woke around 4. I think I've a kidney infection.

I'm jealous of all you 3 freezers

Beetr00t · 07/09/2022 16:19

I also have freezer envy!

Chilly here today. I volunteer at a Foodbank and it was a bit worrying how busy we were today- it's increasing week on week- feeling very grateful today.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2022 18:55

How do you feel now, Neros?

It's currently chucking it down after it thundered for about an hour at 3.30. The kids got soaked coming home from school.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 07/09/2022 18:57

Hope you’re ok Neros

We’ve had some heavy rain today and more forecast tomorrow. I made minestrone soup for dinner and ds had three bowls Hmm

We didn’t get the house. So disappointing, there were 15 available but only one below £1000pcm.

NerosFiddle · 07/09/2022 19:35

Went to chemist this morning, got the test done and the pharmacist prescribed me some abx.

Sorry to hear you didn't get it wreck. Is there anymore coming up in the foreseeable?

WreckTangled · 07/09/2022 19:37

They come on every two weeks. There’s been about 8 we’ve been able to apply for in over two years so not many available.

glad you got some abx

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2022 19:39

That's really annoying, Wreck. Though would be a massive jump in rent, IIRC? Surely you must be near the top now. Surely!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 07/09/2022 19:54

Well, we were the top in November last year but people with greater needs than us will always be ahead of us even if they only went on the list a week ago, understandably. We pay £550 a month at the moment. I just had a look on rightmove and the cheapest three bed within 10 miles of DD’s school is a flat for £1500 a month.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/09/2022 19:59

Hi folks, as I am on annual leave I went over for a mooch in Stamford which is a lovely place if anyone lives reasonably close enough for a visit. The weather was glorious.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2022 20:40

Christ, Wreck. This 3 bed is £1,350 here!

The prices have just gone insane. I don’t know how anyone affords it.

We’ve got another storm

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2022 20:57

That's probably our storm from earlier, Wreck!

We couldn't afford £1,350. £850 is about right for a bog standard 3 bed.

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 07/09/2022 21:18

According to Rightmove £1350 would get you a detached 4 bed here - with futility room and en suite.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2022 21:38

Yeah, it would here too. That one's fancy and there are no 4 beds available right now!

CrazyBaubles · 07/09/2022 21:49

Sounds like everyone had a disturbed night!
I was doing well - slept from 10pm until 5am but ddog woke me up and that was me up for the day.

I was in the office today which was busy, then went out for tea with a friend who's having a tough time and needed a vent.

Sorry about the house Wreck. Slim pickings at the moment!
I've just had a look and £1100 gets you this 3 bed semi here and I think that's just crazy!

FireflyGirl · 07/09/2022 22:01

Renting is crazy prices, it's no wonder people can't get on the housing ladder when they're paying that sort of money!

We've had some lovely storms here tonight as well.

DS had me check the weather forecast this morning and it wasn't even forecast to rain, so he's now lost all faith in my weather forecasting abilities 😂

New job went okay, just doing induction and training at the moment so a bit dull. Looking forward to getting into a new routine, and having Thursdays with DD.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2022 22:04

Our induction is properly long winded, so I feel your pain. I've been in this job 2 years next month. It's flown!

DreamingofItaly2023 · 08/09/2022 07:11

Morning. I just checked and there isn’t a single property to rent at any price within 10 miles. Within 20 miles there is and the highest priced is £1250.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/09/2022 07:20

Morning!

We don't have much rental stock here, but that's a bit mad, Dreaming!

It's looking bright here for now. We were forecast more storms later though. Hopefully it's wrong as I'm done now!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 08/09/2022 07:27

We’ve had rain all night and it’s forecast most of the day. I finish at 1:30 today and not back until Monday. Our storm last night came from France fluffy 😅

NoWordForFluffy · 08/09/2022 07:43

Bloody French (/jk)!

Our rain is pushed back to 10pm, so at least the washing should dry!

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 08/09/2022 11:09

Morning.

Had a look at places to rent here. If you don't want student accommodation or to be in the sticks, there's nothing.

CrazyBaubles · 08/09/2022 12:17

We have storms forecast throughout the day, starting at 7am. Although it's dark and grey here, I am yet to see a single drop of rain Hmm

I am feeling a mix of tired and festive so I'm watching an old Christmas cooking show while I work I'm being an mn dinner and watching JO Xmas Grin
