It feels bizarre setting up the first Christmas thread on one of the hottest days of the year, yet here we are!

Lovely to see you all; take a seat and grab a mince pie as they get passed around.

Please do alert me to anything for the next thread's page of links (I'm starting fresh this year). Hope you've had a good year and looking forward to celebrating and sharing our bargain buys.

My girls are asking for Pandora bracelets but they’re too young - 5 and 8, they’ll just lose them. Has anyone ever bought a decent cheap version?

The tiktok shop does some bracelets. Worth checking out you can get rings too! vm.tiktok.com/ZMNtgReX5/

I just linked an example, if you go on to their shop they have all sorts of the bracelets including the original style

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz So did you have to subscribe and pay for the half price box too? Sorry, but I've never subscribed to anything like this and I don't really understand it

It was a first box half price - plus a mystery box value up to £93 free. So just the £7.50.
Had confirmation email then cancelled some monthly subscription I'd had to set up

Had confirmation this evening box is on the way

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 17/08/2022 23:32

Sorry, "the " monthly subscription, that should say Grin

Thanks for the idea to get water saving kit from the water board. I didn’t think Northumbrian water would have much but there was lots to choose from like gels, water sticks (I presume these go in plant pots?), trigger guns etc.

M&S final reduction sale has started. Apparently instore there are great bargains to be had. Online there are lots of Percy pig nighties/pjs

Mrsfussypants1 · 18/08/2022 08:58

Code 10OFF gives you 10 off at Microscooter online if like me the scooter you are after is only available via Microscooter and your like me and impatient and can't wait for offers from them.

Joining as I wait for my 5poundstuff blanket hoodies to be delivered - I’m hoping the children’s sized ones are good quality as I’ve ordered a couple for potential gifts.

All of the Acorn Wood board books are currently half price on Amazon at £3.50 with Squirrel’s Snowman down to £3. They’re beautiful books and would make lovely gifts - particularly if anyone has babies to buy for 😊

Beautifulsunflowers · 18/08/2022 09:24

Was in Tesco yesterday and they had trampolines reduced to £70 - didn’t see the original price but I think they were 6ft or 8ft ones. Reminds me of the John Lewis advert a couple of years ago- what will it be this year??!!

2under2howscary · 18/08/2022 09:29

My blanket hoodies:

2 of them are the exact same as my kudd.ly I have at home - same stitching, same label etc.

One, is thinner, awful stitching and has 2 extra labels for some reason.

snugglyblanket · 18/08/2022 09:29

Thanks for all the bargains, I have quite a full birthday/Christmas present cupboard already thanks to the bargain & prequel threads 😂

Has anyone seen any nice dinner services/plates on offer? Time to change my Christmas plates. Preferably something where you can buy extra plates to cover the inevitable breakages 🙄 (don't mind a pattern or plain with a bit of gold or something).

Chocolatepumpkin · 18/08/2022 09:35

Irritatedmum i got my dd then 6 liberty charms a couple of years back and she loved it, so much cheaper than a pandora so if accidentally broken it was not an issue! She still has it now so it has lived far beyond what i expected.

JubileeTissues · 18/08/2022 09:52

@BigEaredBob thanks for the slime tip. DS will be made up to use it in the bath Grin

psuedocream3 · 18/08/2022 10:42

Argos have the Chad Valley pirate sand and water table down to £12.00 in the sale down from £32.00. Ideal for a 1-2 year old I would think and great reviews. I just ordered for my son's first birthday as I had a £10.00 argos voucher, cant go wrong for £2.00

Totally get your point for the 5 year old but would you consider 2nd hand maybe for the 8 year old? Facebook marketplace normally has loads for sale at a good price with bag/box etc. It could be a nice way to start off and she could go onto to collect the charms for future bdays etc.

Soscrewed · 18/08/2022 11:59

Love these threads (and prequel and the poncdtastic threads). My 9th year with many name changes.

Anyway when I wrap I write in sharpie on the cellotape on the bottom who a gift I'd for. Means I can wrap in advance and do labels closer to the time. 2 fine sharpies are here for £1. Also great for writing om the calander as they work at an angle.

sharpie

Soscrewed · 18/08/2022 12:04

Also 12 coloured sharpies for £5 12 sharpies

Scout2016 · 18/08/2022 12:30

I contacted the hoodie companies for the 2 I have so far. Kudd.ly say they are aware of the site, have no idea how they are selling them so cheap and no idea if items are real or fake. They are investigating with the factory.
Cotton:on say the kids one is genuine, 3rd parties do sell their stuff.
I have 2 more due today bit wish I didn't.

LiamNeesonIsADerryGirl · 18/08/2022 12:37

@psuedocream3 fantastic bargain, just ordered for my DD! Thank you!

Argos have Playmobil’s 1.2.3 My Take Along Farm for £10. Link

Martinisarebetterdirty · 18/08/2022 12:57

Often discount stores get factory seconds or things made for a different market. I’ve ordered two navy hoodies due today, if they are fluffy and warm then we’ll be keeping and wearing them, if they are thin and I don’t think they will be warm I’ll send them back. I’m quite excited to see what I get as sounds a very mixed bag!

Yeknom · 18/08/2022 13:05

I'm not even ordering any hooded blankets as the kids are super happy with the cheap John Lewis onesies from the earlier thread but I am so invested with the real/fake oodies 😁!
