It feels bizarre setting up the first Christmas thread on one of the hottest days of the year, yet here we are!

Lovely to see you all; take a seat and grab a mince pie as they get passed around.

Please do alert me to anything for the next thread's page of links (I'm starting fresh this year). Hope you've had a good year and looking forward to celebrating and sharing our bargain buys.

I'm having a few issues with the 3 for 2, some of them work and some don't. Any idea how to make it work @CatelynStark ? Especially the socks - it just seems random when it gets applied?

I had the same problem when I bought socks the other week. I think you just have to add items and see if it works.

@LikeSilver don’t bother with a memory card for little ones, my kids are 8 and 4 we have tons of games and don’t have the need for a memory card yet.

@BigEaredBob you can buy a gift card for the new Mario kart track at smyths it’s among the switch games I think it’s £21 my eldest has asked for it too.

We buy quite a few games from eBay. I like physical game cards as you can often sell for similar prices that you bought them for after the kids get bored of them, which funds their next request

Mob kitchen cookbook, cook for 4 under £10 hardback book is down to £3. I bought his for my BIL last year for the same price and it's good. Possibly more valuable this year with the cost of living rocketing

The Mob cookbook was my hit of last Christmas, bought DP and DB copies as random extras and both use it all the time, some brilliant recipes.

Thank you to the people that recommended parent/baby animal soft toy combos for my daughter. I think she'd love all of them, so going to see if I can pick up a bargain with one.

Switch game buyers- one more consideration- if you have a physical game it is tiny and easy to loose. But if you have more than one and buy games online, it can only be played on the one you purchase it on. Mine got x2 switches 4 kids) for Christmas a few years back, great purchase but occasionally one of them will be on a game and other kiddo can't play the game they want as downloaded on the same machine.

Another Switch idea is a carry case, we actually got them from this thread last year and great as they use them in the car lots-better than wrapping them in a jumper like we were before! I paid £10 last year per case.

My first offering: referral link for 50% off a Craft Gin Club box. £20 instead of £40 for a full size bottle, ~3 tonics or mixers, a bunch of funky posh snacks and a gin magazine. There's pretty much always a sale on. If you go to the Menu and scroll down to Special Offers it will bring up the clearance section. There's currently 190 items in the clearance.

From memory, I think they tend to put more stuff in the sale early Sept.

They've really tightened up the rewards for craft gin club now, you can't use your points on a box, only in the shop if someone uses your referral link.
You're better opening a new account with a different email then cancelling after your first box.
