It feels bizarre setting up the first Christmas thread on one of the hottest days of the year, yet here we are!

Lovely to see you all; take a seat and grab a mince pie as they get passed around.

Please do alert me to anything for the next thread's page of links (I'm starting fresh this year). Hope you've had a good year and looking forward to celebrating and sharing our bargain buys.

If you bought the oodies from 5poundshop with Paypal, you can get free returns through Paypal, they cover up to £15 postage and up to 12 returns a year. If mine end up being primark they will be going back
www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/refunded-returns

I paid via pay pal.
Thanks for this! I didn’t know.
If mine are primark they are going back.

@Methenyouplus4 I'm not sure if too cartoony but DD was given Nestlings a couple of years ago. It's a mum and a couple of babies. She really liked them. Otherwise she has my old Pound Puppies with the mum and 3 babies you can stuff inside like a reverse csection! I think they relaunched as puppy surprise a few years ago, in Smyth's maybe?

Got a Dibor garland. I have been after one for ages but can never justify full price. Good shout @EvilHerbivore !

Any tips for nearly 4 year old girls? I have twins and honestly I have no idea what to get them 😞

playmobil 😀

zeerecords · 16/08/2022 10:14

Looking to buy myself a roomba if anyone sees any good deals or has any recommendations on a good one?

Also moved to a house this year so want some good Christmas decorations for the garden if there's any offers around!

peasando · 16/08/2022 10:20

Just had an email to say Sweaty Betty are doing 25% off everything on site this week if you sign up to their (free) loyalty programme - still pricey but a good discount if brand is important (I know there are some teen DDs out there who are after this one!)

3% cash back on TCB as well (keep remembering to check before you buy!)

On the previous thread there was a lot of interest in the bic multi coloured pens. I noticed when I was in my local Wilkinsons today that they had a display of them half price- I think just over £2

Beachhutnut · 16/08/2022 12:39

@zeerecords I can recommend the deebot

Also a massive thanks to @Sideorderofchips and welcome back to @Reastie !

I'm back in that strange time of year where I want to tell everyone about this thread for the bargains, but also don't want to screw my self over with people and presents 😂

@Givealittlebit I always think the same thing 😳🤣

EverydayIsPJday · 16/08/2022 13:26

@Earlymenopausesucks the only person I help with deals is my mum as she has limited mobility, so avoiding trawling the shops is an absolute must. She insists on buying for all her kids and grandkids (14 in total) and is a pensioner so definitely appreciates any savings - more so this year. That said, I've never linked to this thread, I just send links to deals I think she would benefit from, so gift ideas for the grandkids etc. I can't invite her to the thread else she would see everything I buy her too 😂 of course she knows I probably get her presents on a deal but she would praise me for that I expect.

Otherwise, I keep very quiet!

Seasalt have just put their lovely Jute shoppers on 3 for 2 again.

I use these every year as stockings for my family - the shoppers are a gift in themselves and are extremely durable. £6 each so £4 if you buy in multiples of 3. Delivery is free over £50 otherwise £3.50.

There’s also a couple reduced from £8 to £4.50 - I don’t know if they’re 3 for 2 though.

This thread is great, thank you! Looking forward to keeping my eyes peeled for lots of bargains for everyone! My 2 ds are getting a Nintendo switch for Christmas, big present and won't be getting much else, just a stocking and a the one thing they ask Santa for. If anyone knows if/when there are deals on switches, I'd be really grateful. I checked on prime day but no luck! Wondering about waiting til black Friday?

Costco have a Nintendo Switch on their special buys at the moment, it's £429 including VAT but has 4 games and a few accessories with it

This is a steal! I bought it from amazon last year for £25 and that was the cheapest I found.

Just a hint for anyone who buys playmobil, open it and set it up beforehand. Got that tip from here I think and was very pleased cos that house took a good hour and 2 adults to build and sticker everything!

FluffyFluffMonster · 16/08/2022 15:51

The best deal I could find on a switch was a t Argos where you can get a free game or a game for £5 depending on which you want! You may also be able to get a Argos code.

Famousthehero · 16/08/2022 16:01

Green slime baff 50% off so £2 on Amazon.

might be a fun stocking filler? Says age 3+

I’ve never used it or gelli baff before, looks like a potential nightmare…

17caterpillars1mouse · 16/08/2022 16:14

I checked out the Argos Playmobil deal as it's on my list for DD who will be 4 at Xmas but it's not available for collection anywhere and out of stock for delivery. Gutted

Thanks just bought for my nephew, we've used it before it was OK, but for £2 will just give him a little extra gift (hope the in laws don't hate me for it lol)

Famousthehero · 16/08/2022 16:20

By the way if anybody fancies a gamble dibor have a few Perfectly imperfect wreaths which look nice - delivery is £5 though below the free delivery threshold

Adelais · 16/08/2022 16:28

I saw the Playmobil house a few weeks ago but wasn’t in stock anywhere. I never understand why Argos doesn’t remove items once they aren’t in stock anywhere.

There’s a little Playmobil Farm reduced to £10 with that seems to be in stock most places.

17caterpillars1mouse · 16/08/2022 17:12

The playmobil dollhouse is now on Argos at £40 and now in stock at my local store. They must only have a certain amount they want to sell at reduced price rather than it being a stock issue
