I realise I must be very unusual, we have no dependants living with us so just me and DH , I generally take all things down around 30th Dec, personally cannot wait to take down put away and get back to normal, Anyone else ?

12th Night, or the day before the DCs go back to school. I love having them up and always feel a bit sad putting them away.

ParkheadParadise · 26/12/2021 17:18

Yes me
I always take my decorations down before Hogmanay. If it wasn't for dd I would have taken them down today.
I like to have a clean fresh house for the New Year.

RampantIvy · 26/12/2021 17:19

New Year's day usually.

FinallyHere · 26/12/2021 17:19

12th Night, or just before if we happen to be out

The tree goes up on Christmas eve, decorations are for the twelve days of Christmas in our house.

SleighbellsZ · 26/12/2021 17:20

I'm the same, they are coming down this week at some point.
Love them but sick of the sight of them now 😂

Chemenger · 26/12/2021 17:20

12th night, they go up the weekend before Christmas.

FreeBritnee · 26/12/2021 17:20

Soon!

Holothane · 26/12/2021 17:21

Advent calendar tomorrow tree as soon as I can away with it.

80sMum · 26/12/2021 17:23

Usually I leave them up until new year's day.
But this year I have no decorations at all, so I feel quite liberated from the tedious task of putting everything away.

SlowBoiledFrog · 26/12/2021 17:23

Before NY. I don't like starting the new year with the remnants of the old.

Amicompletelyinsane · 26/12/2021 17:25

Ours came down today. We like a boxing day tidy up and then can play with all the toys with much more space

gukvguk · 26/12/2021 17:25

New Years Eve as my New Years Day I don't want them around as it's all over!

AdaColeman · 26/12/2021 17:27

6th January, Epiphany.

MajorCarolDanvers · 26/12/2021 17:28

2-3 days after Hogmanay.

Certainly not before.

leccybill · 26/12/2021 17:31

12th night here. It's very much still Christmas here!

BackBackBack · 26/12/2021 17:39

Normally new year's day.

SerendipitySunshine · 26/12/2021 18:07

Twelfth night. We love our real tree and homemade garlands scavenged from garden greenery so never take them down early.

Gooseysgirl · 26/12/2021 18:09

Not until after the Epiphany, will probably do it the weekend after.

Faretheewellmyfairyfay · 26/12/2021 18:11

Mostly, around New Year's Day or a bit after depending where the weekend falls. Earlier if they are in the way and no guests are due.

This year, today. But didn't put many up. Not for any bad reason, just suited us to have Christmas ending this weekend rather than starting.

YukoandHiro · 26/12/2021 18:42

New Year's Day or 2nd Jan if we're having people round on Nyd.
Isn't it weird taking them down before the second big celebration of the season?

FiveShelties · 26/12/2021 21:56

6th January - my Gran always said it was unlucky if they came down before then and I have stuck to that every year. I don't suppose it is unlucky but .......

SpanielsAreMyLife · 26/12/2021 21:58

One of our DC has their birthday on New Year's Eve, so I tend to put the decorations away the day before.

I put them up mid November for some mad bloody reason and I'm already sick of the sight of it all!

A580Hojas · 26/12/2021 22:01

January 6th morning.

SnowdropSally · 26/12/2021 22:03

Ne’erday here. Hogmanay is our final celebration and everything returns to normal on 1st Jan. A fresh start to the year is the way we see it. Decorations down, house deep cleaned and our normal routine resumes.

RoRoYoYo · 26/12/2021 22:04

The day before we all go back to school/work do this year it will be on Jan 2nd.
