sunshineandrain82 · 28/12/2021 21:28

@Smileatthesmallthings

Hello! Happy to find you all for post-christmas bargains. Has anyone found a WHSmith code? Looking for more yoto cards as it was definitely a hit!
Hi have a look at isaacstreasures I've recently placed a large order. They are my go to shop. I noticed that yoto books were on sale today.
1forAll74 · 28/12/2021 21:36

I can't believe that people need to buy stuff, for next Christmas now, sales or no sales. sounds like an addiction to shopping problem.

I dont wan't to spend anything, except for food etc, until the spring, when I will wan't some bedding plants. and stuff for the garden !

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 28/12/2021 21:41

Oh get over yourself, @1forAll74. Are you the poster who accused us of having shopping addiction issues previously? We've had similar before.

Just because we do it differently than you, doesn't make you superior / your way the right way.

Maybe hiding / ignoring the Christmas board would assist your judgy pants in my getting wedged up your arse so hard?! Xmas Hmm

@ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy Why don’t you say what you really feel? 🤣🤣 Love that response.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 28/12/2021 22:07
Xmas Grin

Dementors invading the Christmas board piss me off! You'd never have guessed, I'm sure!

lancslass17 · 28/12/2021 22:15

Hi does anyone have an argos code or very code ( without me signing up for credit) please.

I've now got most my 2022 birthday and Christmas presents purchased at between 50 and 70% less than what they'll be in 10 months time. Socks, candles, shirts, jammies designs etc don't vary much from year to year really and I feel this makes me cost conscious rather than addicted?

I can see why you'd think this but it certainly isn't the case from my point of view. My kids get much better gifts because of all the help that I get from posters on this board throughout the year. I'm a single parent and spreading the cost makes things much more manageable. By not needing to stress about buying gifts in November and December because they are already bought I can do other things for treats like take my kids out for hot chocolate.
FeloniusGru · 28/12/2021 23:35

Well so far I have bought:
• tea, coffee, hot choc from Whittards 50% off (usually have long ish dates especially the tea)
• all of next years Christmas cards from Card Factory 50% off
• a ridiculous amount of Body Shop £5 body butters
• next years family Christmas pyjamas from Matalan (local store had decent stock) 50% off, plus a few other Christmas bits (Santa sacks etc)
• some clothing for the kids from Zara, Gap, Sainsburys and Asda (reductions between 20-70%)
• new towels from Dunelm which I needed 20% off plus a few novelty Xmas bits 50% off
• wrapping paper and crackers at least 50% off from sainsburys

And tomorrow I’m off into town to check out Boots, Lush and Primark. It looks a lot written down but I don’t consider it a real bargain unless there’s at least 50% off Grin and it’s all stuff I needed or would have been buying anyway (gifts/ kids clothing etc). I also have some gift vouchers that need spending.

FeloniusGru · 28/12/2021 23:41

Oh and I also got some half price Xmas jumpers from Mamas & Papas just before Christmas and some bits from ShopDisney for next year.

Getoutofbed25 · 29/12/2021 00:34

I bought Denby tonight as realised over Christmas we only have 6 matching plates etc, used Clubcard points to pay!

UsernameInTheTown · 29/12/2021 03:26

To the judgey PP who seems to have stumbled onto this thread accidentally, some of us don't have the luxury of having the option to pay full price for presents, come December With energy bills set to go through the roof in 2022 some of us need to sale shop to stretch our money as far as possible.
Some need to spread the cost, some of us shop to help fill the unfillable void of loneliness and depression (I've been up since 2am with insomnia, the Christmas board on MN is calming to me).
Some of us were only shown love and affection through material things and therefore default to doing likewise.
Some of us use shopping to get us through a shitty looking year.
Some of us are planners and organisers and this is a form of control.
Is that acceptable to you PP?

QOD · 29/12/2021 03:43

@UsernameInTheTown hugs to a fellow insomniac

Also pp some of us are tight wads 😂

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 29/12/2021 08:45

I'm definitely tight 😄 but also really like treating my family to nice presents 🎁 so bargains are my friend.

Someaddedsugar · 29/12/2021 08:48

I’m hoping Sainsbury’s have some wrapping paper and cards left for when I call in this morning! Has anyone seen a nice (bargain) garland anywhere? I spotted one in Argos but it’s out of stock in any of my local stores.

I always this these threads are about so much more than just the bargains - especially in the last two years they’ve been a distraction from the pandemic. The random acts of kindness and the chat (I know not everyone likes it) are just lovely. And as PPs have said, it spreads the cost for those of us who can’t afford to spend hundreds of pounds in one go in November.

Thank you @Sideorderofchips and @Reastie for setting them up each year ☺️

Someaddedsugar · 29/12/2021 08:49

*always think

winkyl · 29/12/2021 08:54

Lush online has some things half price.

PinkDaydreams · 29/12/2021 08:55

Christmas sweets/choc/biscuits in Aldi reduced. Check BB dates

dizzygirl1 · 29/12/2021 09:09

@winkyl thank you! I checked lush online the other day and nothing, nothing left when I went shopping yesterday but just managed to get a few bits. Do begrudge paying delivery.... 'click and collect available ' not in any of the cities near me!

coodawoodashooda · 29/12/2021 09:19

I've been to asda and there is not one Christmas item of clothing left in the sale. Im amazed.

KenAddams · 29/12/2021 09:21

Placemarking shamlessley 😂

Why on earth are you on this thread then unless it's to promote sanctimonious bs.
