I never know what's too much or too little.
This year it's around £150 but I have a friend who spends a lot more.
What do you spend on them?

It varies, as we buy things we see and like, but would never usually buy our selves, in the previous few months, wrap them up for Christmas.
This year I have a new running watch, £500, he has a cycling Jersey £60. I think I did pretty well this year! 😂
Usually it's around £80

About £1000 this year. We tend to spend more on Xmas than birthdays. Don’t spend what we can’t afford though.

I spent around £40, I think, plus gave the Dc £5 each to put towards their present for him, first year of Dd2 buying something independently, other years I have bought 2 things and she has picked which one she wants to give him.

We have never really bought big gifts for one another - something like tickets to an event or trip away or any expensive purchases would be planned together rather than given as a gift - but some years I have spent a bit more than this year and others less.

The Dc love watching us open presents, but it's more about a symbolic, thoughtful gesture than the actual contents - especially since we both share a joint account anyway, so there's no point in using the value of gifts to show how much we appreciate one another.
