lazawreath · 19/12/2007 22:43

I also had a board game called 'rings on your fingers'. That was ace

ginnedupudding · 19/12/2007 22:44

I had a little toy washing machine that really washed dolls clothes, with a tiny laundry basket and washing line and pegs!

Also, the best thing ever - a digital watch. I remember my Mum telling me to look after it because it was very expensive

ggirlsbells · 19/12/2007 22:44

A doll that when you pressed a button on her tummy and pulled her hair it grew...fanBLOODYtastic!

lilolilbethlehem · 19/12/2007 22:50

ggirls, was that a Tressy doll? I had one and thought it was THE most beautiful thing I'd ever seen!

ginnedupudding · 19/12/2007 23:00

Did anyone else have a Pippa doll, like Sindy but really tiny and she had hair all the way down to her feet!

BadKittenInAPearTree · 19/12/2007 23:02

My chemistry set. My parents were fabby and made up a proper one with chemicals from a friend of theirs.

ggirlsbells · 19/12/2007 23:03

lilo-I'm not sure what she was called, sooooooo long ago, early 70's

lilylilyrose · 19/12/2007 23:05

Southeastastra, my best ever present was the FP toy garage too! I can still remember asking Santa for it when I met him happy nostalgic sigh

xmasfortunecookie · 19/12/2007 23:06

A Cheerful-Tearful doll. She smiled when you lifted her arm and screwed up her face when you lowered her arm. She was supposed to cry 'real tears' but mine never did. I sooo loved that doll! She was v. cute.

binklebells · 19/12/2007 23:06

Wasnt rainbow brite about the same time as Poochie?

smartiejake · 19/12/2007 23:07

OOOh yes I had a Pippa doll. Used to love dressing her up in lots of little outfits.
Funny now that instead of buying more clothes for one doll you just buy another doll with a different outfit(e.g. teacher Barbie with free black board, popstar Barbie with free microphone, bride Barbie with free posie, Pregnant Barbie with free gas and air tank...)

ladyGrinchingsoul · 19/12/2007 23:09

I had a Tressy too. Mine was blonde and the problem was that the "growing" bit of hair was straight and not at all the same shade as the rest of it, which was curly. I think the brunette ones were better.

xmasfortunecookie · 19/12/2007 23:09

Oh, an Easy-Bake oven! With the super hot light bulb! I had one of those. I'd forgotten all about them.

Did anyone have a Slinky? Or Silly Putty?

frostythesnowmum · 19/12/2007 23:10

sweet shops and post office sets - every year!

lilylilyrose · 19/12/2007 23:11

I had a Poochie too! It used to sleep in my bed with me

WowOoo · 19/12/2007 23:11

Roller Skates.

smartiejake · 19/12/2007 23:12

I also remember a quiz game with this robot thingy which spun round on a little mirror in the middle to point to the questions.
I remember saving up a whole pound (from weeks and weeks of 15p pocket monies) to buy this.

jaq39 · 19/12/2007 23:14

Toy post office set and red chopper bike!

Izzybel · 19/12/2007 23:23

Ooh, I had a yellow teapot too! You do mean one that was like a house, with people in it and not actually a big, yellow teapot lol! Don't think I got mine for xmas though. It might have been a hand-me-down from my sister.

hoarsewhisperer · 20/12/2007 07:06

A girls world doll that you made up (was about 8)

a walkman when I was 9. It was MASSIve...i reckon about 10cm by 15, but at the time it was seriously high tec. Had a carry case and everything!!!

my bro and i got given walkie talkies one year too as a joint present which we loved.

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 20/12/2007 07:27

oooh.......this thread brings some memories!!

I am soooooooooo jealous of those that got a sindy house., soooooo wanted one and never did.

alos always asked for (for about 3/4yrs running) a doll that walks and talks and was the same size as me. There probably never WAS such a doll, but seeing as this was FC I was asking, how could he not make me one......he is all majical and gives you just what you ask for (doesn't he).

I do remember getting a girls world tho. LOVED IT!

was terrified this year tho when my aunt tried to give it back......she had only kept it for 20odd years in the attic in the hope that any future daughters of mine would like it. It was warped and deformed so guess what she did......

nah, NO-ONE could ever guess, the trauma would prevent you!!!!!!!!

she only put the feckin head in the oven to try and warm it up so she could reform it back to a normal shape!!!!!!!

seriously......she did!

could you imagine it had she burnt the house down and the firemen turned up. they find the head in the oven.........

god, I am still traumatised by it. mr psycho wet his pants when he heard.

hey ho.....always depend on warped family to give good tales to warn your kiddies with

oopsiedoopsie · 20/12/2007 08:59

My Star Wars Tie Fighter with ejectable wings

Maidamess · 20/12/2007 09:12

Ginned, I had a Pippa doll! She was dusky of skin, with the most beautiful floor length mink colour hair I wanted to look like her more than anything.

I also received a walkman radio with headphones one year and listened to Radio Ones broadcast from a childrens hospital on Christmas morning (Peter Powell was the DJ)

Nintendo Wii my ar**!!
