Thanks @OyTheBumbler for the title. Now, does the Amarillo bulb grow the place or the song?! Grin

I’ve finally Blush updated the referral thread link in the post.

Wonder if this thread will get us to Christmas now we’re getting closer to being done.

Just wanted to say a huge HAPPY CHRISTMAS to everyone on here. Thank you for posting all your links and sharing codes etc; it’s made Christmas so much easier for so many people and I know I’ll be thinking of you all on Christmas Day.

Aldi had flip-a-mallows in store today if anyone wanted any. I think they were £4.99.

TheCrow · 16/12/2021 19:04

Has anyone seen any cheap crackers anywhere? I usually get them from Poundland at £2 but they don't have them this year and I refuse to pay £6+ for some paper and small bits of plastic tat 😅

catanddogmake6 · 16/12/2021 19:17

Well minor success - the advent calendar I ordered in September from Lost Universe arrived today. Xmas Hmm No apology or anything. Now the question is will DD still like Batman next year? Let’s face it I’ve no hope of getting one unless I keep this one. At £30 it feels a bit like a strange game of roulette.

@MummyPebble

If anyone did the Vulcan to the sky name on the plane thing, how are you gifting/presenting it? Can’t think what to do
@MummyPebble, I did this when I got it for DH the other year.

I got a nice pack of 12 from B&M yesterday for £4.
Jacopone · 16/12/2021 19:35

@dancemom, for leather wallet try John Lewis or Debenhams.

coffeetofunction · 16/12/2021 20:00

Please please please can I get a little help.... Current waiting for PCR for hubby and I'm feeling ill but I have not finished my DS17 for Christmas day. He has ASD and we have a 7yo DD so he needs presents from Santa however I'm stuck....
He's asked for a gold chain, budget about £40 but we do have nectar points and blue light discount.
Then another £70 ISH to spend...
Loves flims, gaming and shiny things

I got some from Aldi, 12 for £2 (iirc), but they are plastic-free so only contain paper 'games' and/or stickers. I'm planning to insert my own gifts so didn't pay that close attention to the contents when I had found some I liked the look of!
Christmasmcchristmasface · 16/12/2021 20:15

@TheCrow
I bought the Cadbury’s fresco frog ones
currently a Tesco club card special £1.50 for 4
You get a mini curly wurly or freddo and wee toy in each one

heelforheelandtoefortoe · 16/12/2021 20:15

I can't say I'm impressed with my freddies flowers box. There doesn't seem to be as many flowers as the advert shows. Is this normal?

Twonka · 16/12/2021 21:15

For your 7YO DD
Barbie doll, lol doll, a cinema box thing where you can write messages, a hooded blanket, a Harry potter dressing gown from M&S and HP jumper from Amazon, blokus game, othello game, bath bombs…lip balm, books, notepad
Next and Amazon are probably your best shout if you’re worried about time..
Hope you get a negative result xx

TheCrow · 16/12/2021 21:30

Thanks for cracker suggestions, I'm going to Aldi tomorrow anyway so will keep an eye out and if not I'll be able to get to a b&m. I don't mind paper contents, we're only really into the silly hats and rubbish jokes anyway which is why I don't want to pay loads, everywhere seems to only have expensive 'luxury' ones this year!

SparklingLime · 16/12/2021 21:37

@coffeetofunction, there are a few helpful thread about stocking fillers for teens. I think that’s one of your questions?

SparklingLime · 16/12/2021 22:00

For the gold chain, @coffeetofunction, if you want to use Nectar points, then Argos? There’s two weights of this chain, £60 and £40:

I have got ds3 (15) ASD

PJ’s (soft bear ones from Matalan)

Hot Chocolate hamper thing (£20 John Lewis - waste of money but looks impressive and he will love it)

Wallet, mechanical pencil (shiny parker from Amazon - two previous identical ones have been washed in trouser pockets - they don’t survive! mug with initial £5 M&S, book, Ferraro Roche, shower gel,

Jigsaw, hobby craft - table of elements.

The big hit from last year was his Alexa. He loves that.

Puffalicious · 17/12/2021 01:02

I'm reading your Tiger stories and smiling to myself : I'll raise you Bikester a biking company. Ordered on 29th of OCTOBER (£100 order!) and I've been chasing for weeks. I've eventually been sent an email saying customs (Germany) have sent it back to them but they won't forward it and I need to wait until they've received it for my refund! No apology. DH has used them before but not anymore! Avoid!

Still waiting on Fan Grrrl order, anyone else got theirs?
