Will DD notice the same wrapping paper from Santa and me?

Feeling very smug that I've already bought and wrapped all presents (this has never happened so early in December before).
However, I've realised all presents are wrapped in the same paper - the presents we're giving family, the presents from Santa and the presents to DD from us.
She's 6 - will she notice? My mum thinks I should rewrap her presents from Santa but I think that's a total waste of wrapping paper.
Thoughts?

We're very careful about this! I'd re-wrap. Sorry!

feelsobadfeltsogood · 13/12/2021 08:37

I'd re-wrap too x

thelegohooverer · 13/12/2021 08:37

If the waste bothers you, you could just leave Santa’s gifts unwrapped

InglouriousBasterd · 13/12/2021 08:38

I hate to say it but this is exactly how i realised the truth about Santa at the same age!

AlexaIWillNeverSayDucking · 13/12/2021 08:38

She will definitely notice. My DD noticed that one year Santa used the same name labels as I'd used the previous year and she was not remotely suspicious, just "Santa must get things from Sainsbury's" my DS is more savvy and would make more of such an observations.

GrrrlPwr · 13/12/2021 08:38

Yes! Definitely

Mumdiva99 · 13/12/2021 08:39

I would say yes she'll notice. (I used to hide Santa's wrapping paper in the loft. 3 rolls - one for each child. - the year I used one design I nearly put all the wrong presents in the wrong stocking.. .).

But....you are right that it's a waste if paper and time......if you can completely separate the stocking and that opening....do you do it upstairs in the bedroom? Then breakfast....then presents under the tree....then she might not notice. My kids would have though.

Bushkin · 13/12/2021 08:40

Definitely! Santa always uses his own wrapping paper. Also please don’t take PP advice to leave them unwrapped, that would be such an anti climax

Peach2021 · 13/12/2021 08:44

Yep she will, we made a mistake with something the first year DS really "got" Christmas - he looked puzzled for a second and I thought oh no we've ruined Christmas before we've even started ! Luckily his belief in Santa's magic was stronger and we got away with it...but I felt dreadful and worried about it all morning...and I still remember it (and hope he doesn't!)

bestbefore · 13/12/2021 08:54

Yes she will. You def need separate (& hidden) wrap for the Santa stuff. If there's any remnants or left over hide it well and bury it in the bin! (Speaking from experience!)

Santahatesbraisedcabbage · 13/12/2021 08:55

Just say you left the wrapping paper out and Santa the cf must have used yours!

cloudtree · 13/12/2021 08:57

Mine would have noticed.

To save the paper could you do something different on top, for example wrap a strip of gold paper around all those from Father Christmas, or use shiny string.

I’d probably rewrap the smallest pile though tbh.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/12/2021 08:58

I wouldn’t risk it. Always used different (cheaper!) paper for stocking presents.

Trixiefirecracker · 13/12/2021 08:59

I still wrap in different paper, even though kids now know! 😂

clartins · 13/12/2021 09:03

This is ridiculous, she won’t notice! Relax, stop overthinking and enjoy Christmas.

Coronawireless · 13/12/2021 09:05

Was just asking myself this today. A unanimous response so far so that answers my q.

LittleBabyCheeses · 13/12/2021 09:06

My 6 year old would most definitely notice.

clartins · 13/12/2021 09:07

Or alternatively re tag them so they’re from who actually bought them rather than Santa. I thought he just delivered gifts I didn’t realise he gave them. My DC never had a gift from Santa and they’ve turned out just fine.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 13/12/2021 09:08

In our house Santa brings 1 gift plus he fills the stocking. The one gift and the stocking presents are always wrapped in a specific paper.

Then all the other gifts (from us) are in the usual paper.

RevolvingPivot · 13/12/2021 09:08

Mine never noticed they are 9 and 11 now.

I only realised people did this by reading it on here. It does actually make sense.

I put Santas in a sack though and ours on the sofa. Well used to. They obviously know who buys them now.

BarbaraofSeville · 13/12/2021 09:09

Don't be ridiculous. How is this even a thing? If she says anything just say Santa must have bought his paper in the same shop as you did.

MrsSkylerWhite · 13/12/2021 09:09

Ours did.

YouGotThisKeepGoing · 13/12/2021 09:09

Depends on the child I think.

I would have at that age tbh.

SignOnTheWindow · 13/12/2021 09:11

Or you could leave a note from Santa to apologise for running out of wrapping paper and having to use yours? You could leave the sellotape and scissors out on a table to add to the story...

inloveagain2022 · 13/12/2021 09:11

@Santahatesbraisedcabbage

Just say you left the wrapping paper out and Santa the cf must have used yours!
