What is on your Christmas food shop list?

Just trying to sort my shopping list out for Christmas and wondering if ive forgotten anything. Its only me, dp, ds(3) and potentially db. Also pregnant so booze and camembert is out :)

Terrys chocolate orange

Sainsbury’s TTD Wensleydale cheese with orange and cranberry.
Chocolate gold coins for the kids.

These are the things we forget and have to buy last minute ever year!

• Shloer or appletizer for the non drinkers (never drink it any other time of year)
• Nibbles for pre Xmas dinner (always the greasy cheese ball crisps in our house and nuts )
• something nice for Xmas breakfast (frozen pastries or Xmas tree crumpets)
• extra drinks and snacks for Boxing Day guests
• spare box of chocolates for the unexpected visitor

Brussel sprouts for the kids cos they weirdly love them even thought DH and I do not!
Got our first mince pies of the year today so they’ll prob keep being bought.
Gotta have a constant stream of twiglets

Do love cheese so Stilton/ camembert but tbh I eat them all year round so not all that special for Xmas, just there’s a lot more of it in the shops atm. Actually bought both today!

I also LOVE sugared almonds, they’re my Xmas fav and they’re SO hard to find these days, so if anyone sees any please let me know!

Stroopwaffles.....decent shortbread.......all the chocolates.

Best sausages and streaky bacon, for Ps in Bs.
Fresh sage and white bread for stuffing,
Loads of fresh orange juice and fizz for Buck’s Fizz
Fresh cranberries, for cranberry sauce
Smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagels, for breakfast
Unsalted butter and light brown sugar, for brandy butter. 🐷
A few more bits for Dh’s stocking

Boursin, essential for Christmas IMO and fine to eat when pregnant

Pringles aswell of course

I've been putting bits aside for a few weeks and have probably overdone it. It's just me and DD but we'll spend Christmas and Boxing Day with my mum and my best mate is joining us so shopping for that too.

So far I have:

Posh crisps and savoury snacks
Gourmet popcorn (Christmas Eve box)
All the wine!
Toffee vodka (amazing added to mulled cider)
Bendicks mint selection
Tempura prawns
Chicken and chorizo paella balls
2 mini Christmas puds (no-one else eats them)
Have got most of the components for Christmas Dinner apart from the veg, including veggie option and gravy for BM.

Still need to get...
Cheese - lots of!
Biscuits for cheese
Christmas veg
Soft drinks
Cider
Breakfast pastries

A pigs in blankets or stuffing wreath
Cranberry wensleydale and crackers
Pringles
Mini puds
Ready made Christmas cake as I haven't had time to make one and daughter demands one
Cranberry sauce
Jar of pickled silverskin onions
Vienetta for husband

@desperatehousewife21 Haven't read the whole thread to see if they've already been spotted elsewhere, but have you tried Lidl for sugared almonds? X

OhCobblers I have thank you, was in there today getting a lot of the stuff in my previous post I’m sure I’ll find them somewhere, I think The Range randomly had some one year!

Boursin. It’s the only time of year I eat this garlicky goodness.

I've got the chicken/gammon, chocolates, stuffing, sweets, chestnuts & Christmas pud so my list is:

smoked salmon
eggs
veggies
pigs in blankets
pain au chocolat
marshmallows (for hot chocolate)
cheese & crackers
assorted snacky foods - pork pies, sausage rolls
dips
salad stuff
milk/cream

Bottle of Advocaat, vodka, lemonade and lime cordial for home made snowballs. It really isn’t Christmas without these!

Chocolate dipped brandy snaps (M&S) with a can of squirty cream to fill them with!

Part Baked baguettes (always a life saver!)

Red cabbage, piccalilli, pickled silverskin onions, -all the pickles !

Extra strong mints to blitz into shortbread to make candy cane shortbread.

DH is in charge of the alcohol. I have requested decent sherry for trifle and Baileys for over ice cream.
