Just trying to sort my shopping list out for Christmas and wondering if ive forgotten anything. Its only me, dp, ds(3) and potentially db. Also pregnant so booze and camembert is out :)

We are having Christmas lunch out so only need breakfast and supper

I would say rather than schloer which just people feel sad 😂 go for fizzero from m and s - it’s a lot more like the real thing!

We are fitting a new kitchen in the new year so I'm using as much as I can out of the cupboards for Christmas, the menu consists mainly of things I can make "from stock"

We're looking forward to our annual GIANT COCK 😋😋😋

A few years ago, we got to the shops late on Xmas Eve (in a non-UK Catholic country) and the shelves/fridges were almost bare, apart from a capon.

Well, that capon was a-may-ZING dahling. We've repeated it every Xmas since!

Here is the recipe - I’m not sure about the legalities of recipes in photos but it’s from a £1 booklet I got from Waitrose in 2009! It become a family standard. I’m a foster carer and when my children move on they always demand our family ( Waitrose) recipe!
To make it ‘candy cane’ I cover the top with white chocolate and crushed candy canes, but the original recipe is excellent too. Always make at least double the recipe!

I think somebody mentioned toffee apple cider earlier. I saw a box at Lidl and bought some - hope they live up to the hype.

Oh OP this thread has reminded me how glad I am to not be pregnant this Christmas!! My shopping list is basically ALL THE CHEESE.

Christmas is all about the cheese.

I'm a cheese addict, but sadly am also very fat and very diabetic so it's my once a year day to eat without guilt!

I've got a Riverford cheese box this week........and it's only the fact that I've ordered the crackers and sides to go with it on the main shop that I've not cracked into any of it
