We are cooking for 13 people this year in our new house, im so so excited 😍
alright my list...

Got to have a dip selection... one of those with the 4 different dips (and a few spare sour cream and chive)
Hot chocolate and mini mallows
Bread sticks and loads of crisps for pre Christmas snacking
Home made veg and lentil soup and part baked baguettes
Ferrero rocher
Usually bucks fizz and baileys but this year I'm pregnant so I'll need to find an alternative for myself!
Lots of antipasti, German biscuits, the list goes on🥰

Absolute essentials:
Ecclefechans
Silverskin pickled onions
More cheese than we know what to do with
Aldi lebkuchan dark chocolate biscuits
Prosecco
Various chutneys
Local brewery Christmas pudding - tastes unreal

roopeedoopeedooo · 19/09/2022 18:43

I do home made sausage rolls, flavoured with cranberry and Clementine or chopped Chestnuts and I LOVE them in the run up to christmas.

Some of my other faves are Lidl milk chocolate Liebkuchen hearts. Rum balls. Turkish delight Ice cream. Hot chocolate with whipped cream and mallows. A really good selection of cheese and cured meats with a big variety of crackers and fruit, made even better with my home made chipotle honey. An extra thick cut marmalade for glazing my gammon.

Good I love christmas!!

You are thinking of walnuts/hazelnuts
Fresh chestnuts, slash the skin and roast them.
We have a fire for first time and I will be roasting some this year in there.
It reminds me of Christmas because in Spain is really common to find people roasting them in the streets in Christmas/cold season

Thank you. Would you just eat them roasted on their own? Maybe a bit of honey and cheese?
Also, how would you roast them in a fire out of interest, foil and tongs?

Devo1818 · 19/09/2022 18:52

Oh yes, sloe gin!
I found the most delicious sloe gin liquer last year.

ChicagoBears · 19/09/2022 18:56

M&S Swiss chocolate
M&S salted caramel truffles
M&S Christmas pudding (one year they did a chocolate orange pudding and it was to die for)

Jalapeño peanuts
Waitrose duck liver pâté
Charlie Bigham meals for the days we cba to cook in that in-between Christmas stage

Devo1818 · 19/09/2022 19:01
