Thanks @Carrie76 for the title. Just for everyone’s info - the chat was about tablet size 😁

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

VividImaginationAgain · 30/11/2021 16:56

@mummyof2boys30 I used SPEND60 to get £10 off at the weekend. I don’t know if it’s working though.

There might also be 10% off with a newsletter sign up.

thaegumathteth · 30/11/2021 16:59

Thanks @Scoleah have downloaded it

careerchangeperhaps · 30/11/2021 16:59

@dawnky1983

I’m afraid I’m looking for another recommendation- parents in law are looking to get DD(5) a hoodie blanket for Christmas and are struggling with sizes-she is quite petite and only just gone into age 5-6 clothes some of which are pretty big on her. Other than the next ones where a lot of the nice patterns are iOS, where is best to look for smaller sizes?x
If you're an early riser, check Next each morning. I've found that the hoodies come back into stock briefly each morning (maybe returns?) but they're gone quickly. I've had success at about 5:30/6am.

PAFMO · 30/11/2021 17:13

@amazeandastonish

best perfume / aftershave deals please?
I got some at 40% (Prada Candy for DD) from Notino at the weekend. Or try Allbeauty. They have mega offers. If you sign up to their mails you'll get loads through. Look Fantastic worth a look too.

About to do an ASOS order - over £100. There's 20% site wide but any extra codes still floating about?

amazeandastonish · 30/11/2021 17:49

also stuck for ideas for a gardener and a man who is into building kit cars?

@YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie

You have summed up the situation in my household every December better than I’ve ever been able to! My son has ASD and a December birthday, and finds the present thing a total nightmare for the same reason. Extended family don’t understand at all - at least Covid meant a year (or two) where he hasn’t had to open stuff in front of people.

SewVeryLazy · 30/11/2021 18:12

Thank you for all the teddy ideas last night, I was feeling quite inspired and now she has decided that she wants a fish teddy.
So, does anyone know anywhere I can get a rainbow fish plush to match the books, that doesn't cost £30 (or more due to postage from the US)? Or know another nice set of books about a fish that I can more easily get a plush of?
Many thanks!

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 30/11/2021 18:16

@2lostsouls my ds is 13 now and I’m so glad we’ve finally managed to get through to our families that he just doesn’t want the gifts, however thoughtfully chosen. I know it looked awful, every Christmas, when he’d open them and just kind of shrug and put them aside. We did manage to get him to eventually say thank you but just couldn’t understand why he had to pretend. And it was bad for him as it meant in practice he really had no presents as they’d all end up at the charity shop. This year he’s picked a cool mouse for his laptop and some colour changing lights from IKEA and I’ve bought him the second box set of some manga he’s enjoyed, a funny t shirt and a shriek figure. There’s no need for anything else. It may seem miserly but his Christmases are so much more enjoyable for him now he doesn’t have to pretend. One of DH’s sisters has a history of being VILE about ds, and I’m so glad we won’t be seeing her this year. The irony is her slightly younger son is clearly autistic too, but she won’t do anything about it Confused

Pervy Pig padding out present piles is a brilliant title. One letter in a name makes padding out sound so much more suspicious 😆

GraceTime · 30/11/2021 18:24

@SapereAude this is really helpful information, thanks so much for taking time to respond Smile

chillimice · 30/11/2021 18:26

Any recommendations for a geography game?

Ds 13 loves geography - he can name pretty much any country or capital city, recognises the majority of flags, knows all the US states (actually sat down and learned them voluntarily lol) and loves quizzes to do with Countries.

Any great ones?

BlueFlavour · 30/11/2021 19:35

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts
Thank you so much, that’s exactly the sort of thing he likes.

ChristmasLightsAndSparkles · 30/11/2021 19:45

@SingItToWinIt - how about Tim Marshall's book 'Prisoners of Geography - our world explained in12 simple maps' - on Amazon here

It's a really interesting book that explains how world politics (ie everything) has been influenced by Geography.

Flags of the World is a brilliant game. We've had it years and I've bought it for many a gift.
Opal8 · 30/11/2021 19:51

I'd recommend the sequel too...currently £5 on amazon

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 30/11/2021 19:52

@SingItToWinIt Mapominoes is fun, and we like that even those of us (adults) with less knowledge of geography and flags can still keep up with the kids 😂

MydeamonsanOstrich · 30/11/2021 19:58

@nearlywed21 Sorry for the delayed reply; been out RL shopping today so just catching up.

I really like the Bellissima. It's very light so I can hold it for long periods of time without my arm or wrist hurting. The diffuser is big enough to get a good amount of hair in it too and, as it's built in, it's never fallen off and landed on my toe like my old panasonic one did Confused
But It only has two heat settings (warm and warmer), which I know puts some people off. I would definitely like it more if it had a cool shot setting, but it's still the best hairdryer I've had for curly hair.
